If one cannot be happy alone,one can never be happy in a relationship, marriage or otherwise! Better to be alone and at peace than committed and stressed out!

Many of my friends are unmarried at the age 33+ with unhappy face. But many other friends of me are married living an equally stressed out life. We all can live happily if we want. It's up to us.

I filed for divorce 20 years ago and single since then and happy with my life. I raised two wonderful children, and they are doing well in life. I do so many things to keep myself busy and have a good job here in the US. I know if I was living in India I would be judged so much for my single status. I'm 38 and bachelor but living as a single, it doesn't reveal that i am unhappy but reading books visiting forest, talking with common men and knowing tribals and have gut to disobey the bigots , playing with stray animals, loving them, sharing happiness with poorer, somany things which give me energy, yes i am scientific temperament guy, i don't have time to listen any mythology but every second i engage myself with facts and discoveries, i don't feel i am alone or anyone think i am some kind of inferiority but the truth is, if you are not happy when you are single then if you can't happy with commitment to someone else.. On the contrary, my unmarried friends are putting in a lot of effort to establish themselves, and while some are earning well, they seem to be leading somewhat challenging lives. it is bit tough in India because of the society as they get very personal but like here in the US that is very common thing in the sense to live as a single parent or single person or not married. I am 51 male separated and i happily tell people about it and no one judges

I have many male clients aged 35+ ,bachelors as well as married, its very clear that the ones who have a good job, salary,fitness are way happier than married ones who are also earning well, the ones with mediocre or low salaries are not happy irrespective of marital status, or they just say 'going on' , For female end i only have single women aged 35+ as clients l don't know why all are unhappy irrespective of having high salary except 1-2 who are happy living alone they only want a pet and a servant

For a change, I dont agree a bit. I'm 41 single by choice and its a choice that I'm not proud of. Few bad decissions and lack of courage at that time and lost my love and it never happened since. Its been almost 10 years now. I'm very well settled, Have achieved partial financial independence and have enough invested to lead a comfortable life and yet by biggest fear is lonliness. 19:00 when a person is single he has to learn to embrace his mortality. generally in that state of affairs, there is less room for sickness. its pretty much walk or drop. theres noone to pick you up. if you check online, there are many cases where single lonely people die in their house and noone in the society even knows about it. after weeks or months, when the neighbours realize it, they have to do the cleaning up. it may be considered sad but i assume why does the dead man need to give a damn about the mess he left behind? will God not accept him just because the proper rituals were not performed on him? there are many homeless people who die alone. at some point one needs to learn to be a lone wolf and die like a lone wolf when his time comes. there is no choice.

Your intent is in the right place but many things are just not possible in practice. They become so difficult to apply, that the failure rate is very high and its a problem. For example, being friends/ friends with benefits with someone for long. What if they move, leave city, find someone else, just don't want to be with you anymore. The emotional toll it takes when you are alone and the only person you talk to leaves is psychologically scarring, that too for a middle aged person who already had the insecurity of being damaged goods. On the other hand in marriage, it is not that easy to break apart, atleast in India. People stay even if things go bad for a couple of years. Marriage is more secure and long term. Also the basic infrastructure arrangements you are talking about regarding health issues, it can be done only if you have expendable income and live in a big city, where good medical facilities are available. If you live at some place remote, you might die in your bed and no one will notice for days. Marriage is not optional, it is a necessity !!!

Women should ideally marry by 25 years of age. God designed human beings with a plan. Today women have to be bread winners and also give birth to babies. Academic institutions and economic demand on women are destroying families. As a Christian( I was born in Hindu family) - the values are very clear and favor traditional family. My wife is at home( not from India) and I homeschool my children. Sex outside marriage is a sin.
