Thank you for your videos and info -they're helpful!! I tried filing BK 2 years ago with almost $300K in both Fed/private loans, 60% of which was interest, and filed the adversary proceeding. Judge chose to tell me to F off... and didn't do anything for my student loans sadly. So I've chosen to take path #2. I refuse to pay them a single cent the rest of the time I'm alive on this rock and accept any of the "consequences" that result. My credit is trashed from these loans -I'll probably end up homeless... but HEY! I'll still have a useless advanced degree in a field that I'll never work in!

This video was amazing. It definitely shines a light on some lies I was told when getting information from the loan servicers I currently have. They really make you feel like you have no options and are stuck. There are some great tips from this video That I hope to use.

I went to school for 3 years, got my BS (Sept 2008) in Graphic Design... Ive never defaulted on my loan but could never afford to the full amount and over time because of making smaller payments... the fees and penalties of not being able to afford the full amount each month has ballooned my loans to over 140k... I dont know where to turn for help or oversight. They keep getting me to sign up for interest rate only payments for 6 months... just running in place. After the program the variable interests pile on the back end.

Yes, please discuss where the Statue of Limitations apply. I asked for my promissory documents and the state that they were originated in on the papers is not the state I reside. The state of limitations in my state is 10 years, but they state of origination (Sallie Mae now Navient) is 6 years. Also, if you could please touch on if you have defaulted on the loans and are attempting strategic default with Navient, how you think this will be affected since they have been bought out by Mohela. Thanks.

I have two direct loans and a FFEL. The amount is close to 75, 000. I am on the income repayment plan. My income is low with high debt. Should I consolidate and apply for the Save program? Thank you

That's like every organization. My agency won't even tell me how much I need to pay for the interest principal and the balance I still owe 19900 They told me.I have 18 months to pay it off.I guess because it's been twenty years almost. I had to contact another group pay 895 So they can help me to Reconsolidate my loans I consolidated them in 2003 now their telling me it was never consolidated I just feel confused because it's like they want you to stay in debt forever. They told me to pay back as much as I want. That's not what I want.I want to pay it off. I signed it for the save program. Of course none of the payments i made before count towards loan forgiveness I just want to pay off. What I owe but I don't have the cash.I wish I did.

Please follow up with the statute of limitations. Also, I tried to get Sallie Mae to provide me records of payments I'd made ...basically an itemized statement. There were multiple places where there were months & months & months & even a years worth at

What if the college I went to was a part of the Art Institute lawsuit. I took out money to go to school and halfway through my semester they called me in to finance to tell me I have take out more because I didn’t take out enough. Although, I took out money for the whole year? Our school system is so screwed and I will never pay what I didn’t use. I would love to have a on 1 to determine what I could do!

I'm so sorry. I took out loans in 97 to 2003 I started paying in 2004 to 2016. I had to put paymets on hold due to civid and oyher things I'm moving back to taiwan so I can finish pay in them off. The third organization that said, I still owe money said.I had eighteen months to pay it off I still owe 19900. I'm gonna give them eight times more than what they're asking for. Hopefully I can get paid off in fifteen months I hope. I rent. I don't need a car because where I live has good public transportation I have nothing saved but hopefully I'll be able to start saving money. I think I can work till i'm sixty five or seventy. I don't have to worry about. Health insurance.

For federal loans, check out the borrower defense to repayment process on StudentAid.gov. For private loans, you might want to work with a consumer rights attorney.
