Makes me so happy that they stood up for him. Even if this is just a social experiment, it's scary on how it actually happens in real life. This is a good way to show that there are still good people in the world.
No, a lot of Koreans are racists They belittle other races especially those with darker skin color such as south and southeast Asia as well as Africans
The last quote “ Only laundry should be separated by colour ” really got me. As an Indian where racial discrimination is super common I'm glad to see how people are changing with time. I really wish soon this thing will just disappear and we all can accept each other without analysing their physical traits.
As an african american, it makes me feel accepted to see people actually standing up to this type of behavior towards another race, especially us black people. In america, we get hate and attacked alot simply just for the color of our skin. That’s why we tend to seem angry or aggressive all the time. Because of the trauma of constantly receiving hate just for what we look like. And we also try to stand up for others because we know how that feels. And when i see people actually step up for us, i feel like we are finally looked at as humans as well as every other race. The history of what happened my ancestors in america (from the transatlantic save trade) has forced this hateful narrative that black people are not human, we have no feelings and we feel no pain. And it’s ridiculous we are in 2022 and we still have hateful individuals out there that still treat us that way.
@@babywahwah4988 hey you come here in USA and stay 2 month n freely walk with phone or cases you will be dead 100/90% r they do this to Asian especially old people really you don’t them in here USA
As foreigners a lot of what we know about South Korea is from Dramas. And most of time how they are portrayed is not that accurate. It's good to be able to see real reactions from real Koreans. I loved the last guy who stood up to fight to defend the black guy. I think that's the spirit of a good Korean citizen.
@@rrice.puddingg I am Indian and when I went to Korea I heard about it from one of the Korean guy. It's the stereotype that news portrays. Lot of Koreans thinks Filipinos are illegal immigrants who smuggles drugs and do illegal stuff. When I was in one of the club in Korea there was a Filipino dude tryna sell me marijuana and it's illegal in Korea.
0:28 the moment someone does that, i’d have lost it. i’m so happy to see koreans stand up against racism especially considering korea is a rather homogeneous country and colorism/racism is quite common.
Uh this is a made up scenario because its definitely not common.. besides how would make a generalized statement like that. Are u even Korean.. or lived in Korea. No
@@natenate88 koreans themselves admit colorism and racism is common. there’s lots of videos & articles about it. korea has a whole history of colorism. pale skin was preferred over darker skin tones since pale skin indicated higher social status and so, colorism was kind of internalized and once something is internalized it’s not so easy to get rid of it. also, let me mention that even white forgeiners are often faced with racism/injustice in korea. ofc there’s pros & cons to every country so i’m not saying korea is the only bad guy here.
@@natenate88 Hi! I'm Thai and I decided to come here in Korea to look for a job and I can definitely tell you that colorism/racism is a huge problem here. Example, most bars don't even let us or any foreigner in their establishment just because we're "foreigners". Another example, I've experienced multiple occasions where I ride the train and no one wants to sit beside me. 😅
I think this is something Asians can very much relate to, on the receiving end. I am Asian American and grew up in US all of my life, however if I spoke my native language with my friends in certain public towns and areas, we were mocked and told to go back to China. Even twenty years later, in 2022, while talking to my friends or mother in native language, I often hear "Go back to China" as a passing remark at least ONCE every time I spend the day in NYC. I am not even Chinese but that's not the point. I can't believe we have to struggle with this disgusting behavior of lowly, uneducated, ignorant racists even in 2022.
Yess. I'm not Asian but my native language is not english and I have had many people show their annoyance whenever me and my family communicated in our own language. Its something most immigrants have to deal with.
I’m truly sorry. It hurts me that people are like this to this day. No matter where you come from you are loved and accepted in America. Ignore the racists. Trust, me us normal people don’t like them.
i’m so sorry this happened to you. just watching the video was so frustrating and upsetting. i’d also like to visit korea someday, it rlly sucks hearing things like this
@@anggll i know. It's sad actually... I mean, I'm from the same Asian Continent and yet they discriminated me because I wasn't light skinned and can't speak Korean properly. Even though I understand their language unfortunately it wasn't enough for them because I'm still indeed a foreigner. From what I experienced though, the older people who always say bad things to me while I was there.
one of my Arab friend who were studying there , and she wore hijab(head scarf) 🧕🏿 , she got ignored by a restaurant owner.. and she heard the worker there said “ we dont need them in our restaurant, they will just be a bothersome(in korean)”
That's why I like and love Koreans. Among Koreans there are thousands of people who are caring and helpful to foreigners(black people). I left my country(Gambia) three and half years ago to South Korea and I recieve alot of love, caring and help from Koreans. In this world there is always one or two bad ones in every household at anywhere. Let's get that, person should not be judged by race and origin but should be judge by the soul and the heart.
Makes me so sad thinking there's people like that everywhere 😔 this actually make me wanna cry poor guy he didn't do anything wrong, I know is acting but is so real ☹
Its not real its a social experiment to see how koreans would react to a foreigner getting harrased the korean guy is a actor (the one harrasing the black guy)
When I was traveling in Gangnam I was talking to my travel buddy in a way where we sounded lost and confused but we really weren't. This Korean man came up to us and asked "hello, are you having a problem?" Without us even asking, ready to give directions or help despite us knowing 0 Korean. I'm glad there's still good in the world.
Watching this makes me happy knowing that there are good people out there. Im from south america and I work for a company in the US , every day ppl tell me stuff like this and it just makes you lose hope
I know there are racism everywhere in different part of the world but I feel so proud of korean citizens that they will actually stick up for you. I feel I can travel there and people will stick up for me if such was to happen. I live in UK and to be honest UK citizens will mind their business and not even help looooool.
Buddy, I’m sorry to say but Korea has a high racism/colorism Problem.. you are seeing the few who think otherwise. Many will mistreat you based on your color..
@rrice.puddingg Did you experience racial discrimination in Korea? I'm sorry to you are very unlocked bz I've never seen it you saying. If you have suffered a lot of discrimination in Korea, it may be right to think about your products and personality, not your color.
I love that they all said they don’t know what his problem is because they don’t want him to know he’s being treated like this because he’s a foreigner. I’m half Korean and when I was living in South Korea, I watch my 60 year old Korean aunt beat up a lady who was probably around 40 years old for calling me racial slurs. This was in the rural parts of Kang won do where my 이모 lives. She was not going to tolerate it at all. In the country, they throw hands lol
Aloha - There’s too much other chaos in this world we have to deal with & we don’t need this kind mindset. My heart-ached to see prejudice& discrimination BUT thank you to the wonderful Korean people who were willing to help….they restore faith in humanity. Stay safe and stay healthy….
As a person of color my experience in Korea was great , people would drop what they were doing and wouldn't leave us until we found our way , a woman even left her bus stop and missed the bus ride just so she could help us Very nice people

I'm Chinese, my experience having Korean friends taught me Korean men are rightous and not afraid to stand up for themselve and others. They are the kind of guys that will always have your back. Although, they can be a little short-fused sometimes haha.

Hey speak English you must speak English in th country.
