More people in the UK think immigration has a negative impact on society compared to a positive one, according to a new survey carried out by YouGov exclusively for Sky News.
Across the UK, 43% of people asked thought that immigration has a negative impact on British society, compared to 35% who said it has a positive impact.
While the results varied according to location, only in London and in Scotland were people more likely to say that immigration has a positive impact.

Around 10 years ago, Richard Littlejohn wrote how he knew someone who worked at Thames Water. That Engineer said that it was possible to gauge the number of people living in a city by the amount of sewage produced (quite logical). The Thames Water chap said that the London Population was at least 700,000 higher than Official Figures. 10 years on, I'll bet that London's population is a MILLION higher than the Govt will admit.

Easy bro Young trader who graduated and learned Plumbing, electrical, and Carpentry courses can’t find a job. Because they prefer workers oversea who got 10 years of experience doing work in Romania or something when half of the time it’s unregulated, so compare to England, it much more easier to hop into the industry straight away. When they come to England, they take our position straight away because it’s easy work, when it supposed to be left for the Students to expand their knowledge as they go. We dedicate 2 years of in getting these certificates that apparently is important. The certificate means nothing to Employors, because experience is more important than certificate. How are we meant to find experience, if all they do is hire people with more experience than us? Some student are lucky, they’re in the industry because their family owns a business, or their Father is a good worker in a company. And based on that people still don’t understand how this is impacting our country, what’s next? I need 10 years of cleaning experience?

I'm putting up with the same nonsense having graduated last year. Just because the skills I've learned have never been used in a workplace environment. Most of my fellow students who got jobs got lucky after the umpteenth attempt, or knew the right people.

More than one immigrant per minute. A city the size of Sheffield arrived in a single year by the net inbound figures. One every 30secs according to the gross inbound figures, that's more than the size of Birmingham arriving in one year! Completely unprecedented and will radically alter the future of this country forever. Who asked for this? Who asked for whole towns to be more or less microcosms of Pakistan or India? This is being done to us, and not for us.

Small boats only make up 4.5% of immigration (46,000 people out of 1.2 million in 2023) A vast majority of all immigration into the UK is completely legal, with work and study being the primary reasons.

It needs to be immensely restricted. I have a problem with the boats because those coming that way have no respect for our security and feel completely fine violating our laws and expecting accommodation. I respect legal immigrants a lot but there are simply way way way too many. The numbers need to be dramatically decreased for a plethora of reasons such as cost of living and housing and cultural reasons.

I haven’t a problem with migration with people who want to bring skills and add to our country. What I do have a problem with is the trafficking and illegals coming across.
