you guys are just absolute 🔥 when it comes to actionable advice. thank you for this knowledge. I came to Lemlist for the tool, but I stayed for the education.
Is it really not worth to track open rates? Isn't it one of the key metrics to track? What if your emails aren't being opened and that's why replies are not coming in.
Interesting points about open rates and non-interested both being 'useless' - yeah, we all know that open rates can be inflated for various reasons, but its still a useful metric as it indicates the initial interest (usually a sign of a good subject line/first readable line), and uninterested is also useful because you can usually get some insight as to why they are uninterested if you have a flow setup for that, not to mention that if you get a weirdly high uninterested rate that clearly there is something wrong with the campaign in general - also important to know. AB Testing just for positive results does limit things quite a lot - you need more data/sends to track results from this and cant do any type of multivariate testing really. Is this not more to do with Google (and others) cracking down on tracking these other metrics? Just seems a bit of a stretch to deem these metrics useless when they clearly hold value without giving this added context of Google being, well, Google
Yea i held this opinion for a while but now i completely disagree Even if they were accurate (which they’re REALLY not) There’s nothing open rates gives you that replies and more importantly Positive replies gives you they hinder and confuse people far far more than help
@@lemlist Can you explain why you changed your opinion on this? Open to having my mind changed here but it just feels a bit like this is actually to combat Google cracking down on accounts tracking these metrics, so you should avoid using them, more than because there is any added benefit to it. Even if they were now useless, there should be no harm in still tracking it just to have additional datapoints - so there would be no need to actively suggest turning it off other than the crackdown on tracking? I'm honestly open to having my mind changed, but dont really feel any point ive made has actually been addressed or explained to say why you disagree is all which is probably the most important part haha
1. It harms your deliverability - there's a tiny pixel sent in every email in order to track it. Makes the email 'heavier' and more likely to get marked as spam. 2. It's unreliable as hell so doesn't allow you to pivot your strat with any confidence. will likely point you in the wrong direction in fact. 3. Even if they were anywhere near reliable, I was able to 5x results without knowing a single open rate. 4. You can get your deliverability score somewhere else more effectively and reliably (somewhere like lemwarm -www.lemwarm.com/deliverability-test?) :) Point #1 is what you're looking for I think.
