I hope that when you do your experimenting and glue that piece down that you film the process for us to see. I’m very curious how long it will last and if your husband thinks as realistic as people report. This is a whole different world of wigs than I’ve experienced with my synthetic wigs. Thanks for sharing all the details about this genre of wigs.
I'm not sure I will be able to give a full report on how long it lasts because I won't be able to wear it for many days in a row due to the need to film reviews and make videos with different hair. I'm hoping I will hear from women who have worn wigs like this, though, and then I can share what I've learned from them.
Thank you for explaining the full lace cap. You helped me understand that to have a full lace, I would have to use stronger adhesive than I'm interested in using. I always learn from your vids, thanks wig sister!😊
@heywigsister hi Denise, I'm in the process of picking out my very first wig...I decided to start I would go with a heat friendly synthetic. Your reviews are so helpful. I love them because you are so honest and sincere. It helps make this journey a bit easier. Thank you so much!
WOW! To me, that’s an AMAZING piece 😍 BUT because my bio hair has been crap my entire life ~62, I don’t have much styling experience to own a full HH piece. Other than pulled back in a clip, baseball hat or a pony tail 🤷🏻♀ that’s my style 🤣 That said, I could TOTALLY see myself investing in a piece like this. I just said to my husband last night, “I wish I could glue a wig to my head & never take it off!” 😁 I’m barely three months into my alt hair journey and own 14 🫣🤫 wigs, with 2 more on the way! It’s been a real learning experience. And 💰 For me, hand-tied and MAYBE closed wefted is the only way I’m comfortable. Lace front for sure! I haven’t delved into bangs (yet). Yesterday I received a blend HH/HF piece that I can wear without styling it, straight out of the box. We’ll see how she wears 🤞🏼 THANK YOU for this review 🥰 PS. Maybe the name is Hollywood because this is the cap type the “stars” wear 🤔
Thank you so much! I had hoped it would come across that way.... given that I am not an expert on these types of systems I really just wanted to introduce the topic to those who aren't aware that these types of wigs even exist and share my own thoughts on the pros and cons as a wig wearer. HUGS!
Great, informative video, Denise. I have looked at men's hair system companies which make lace cap pieces among other kinds. Most of those are toupee style but they also make customizable full-cap pieces suitable for women. The bulky caps even on hand-tied ready-to-wear women's wigs, just as you noted, are not a problem with full-lace caps. Men who wear adhesive or tape-bonded hair systems report that they can wear them up to a couple of weeks at a time.
Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge on this. I do know that bonded systems are very popular with men, and have heard from a number of women who wear them as well. The drawback is the hassle of having to go in regularly to get it removed and reinstalled, and the cost associated with that. For some women and men, though, it is TOTALLY worth it to never have to worry about taking off and putting back on your hair every day.
I made the mistake to start with full lace wigs while I still had hair around the hairline. Not a good idea because I had to use glue. And lost my hairline because of the glue that got into the hair. I later started to use glueless wigs and sheitels. Thankfully got my hairline back and now I can wear toppers.
The hair is really good quality Remy human hair and so I don't think that will be an issue with this at all. Even though I haven't worn it for any substantial period of time yet, I have played with it A LOT and have had ZERO tangling issues. It is great hair!
Hi Denise….Are you saying you adhere it with glue even tho you have some bio hair and because of that, you must wear a wig cap too? In other words you are actually gluing the wig onto not just the perimeter of your head but also directly onto the wig cap too? Would it work with a wig cap and a wig grip over the cap without glue? It really does look real on you. I’d swear it’s your own bio hair. Still, I’m confused. I cannot imagine wearing a wig days at a time. It actually sounds gross and unhealthy. I think I’d rather just rat myself out!😂 what about showering and swimming? Too much work, money and time for me. It kind of reminds me of the videos of what black women go thru to wear wigs. This was very informative Denise… nobody does it better. Thanks sister in Christ. Diane❤
I honestly do not think I could get away with wearing this at all without adhering at least the front of the wig. It is so loose on me that just a wig grip would not do much to keep it in place and laying flat in the front. There is simply no tension on it. I have seen videos where the women adhered the wig cap first so that it didn't slip around, and then they adhered the wig to their skin. Just like anything in life, I believe there are probably multiple ways to do it.
