What inspectors found during follow-up safety inspection of Belle Isle giant slide 

I used to be scared as hell as a kid to get on the giant slide lol 😂 I don’t remember flying all in the air like that tho

This slide sounds like fun, keep it the way it is and try to make it where you can go faster

That slide is one of the highlights of my youth! Couldn't get enough of the Big Slide! Good times...

The green lady did it perfectly, lean forward and hold the sack tight against you toes.

The problem is this isn't a passive slide where you just get your body moving and gravity does the rest. This slide is like riding a horse. You need to lean forward the whole time and adjust your body with the slide. The woman at 1:55 does it perfectly.

Why in the world would they use hard hot metal? Just imagine how hot that thing gets during the summer or any hot days! Ouch! 🤕

I Grew up riding on this slide it has not always been metal , it actually used to be rubber or plastic I’m not sure which one but they use to wax it when you go down so it has not always been metal . Detroit people are just made different. Crazy thing is , Detroiters are not even the people that’s complaining it’s people around the world and on the Internet that are complaining people . In Detroiters business and the news has been going out and filming kids on that slide for years now all of a sudden they’re acting like it’s a concern stop it !

Wait a minute.....a safety inspection report was done but no one went down the slide or observed anyone sliding down to determine its safety???? The incompetence of it all is what gets me. Would a ferris wheel safety report get approved if no one rode or observed riders of the ferris wheel??? I'm confused

Us kids never got hurt back in the 70s. The most dangerous part was touching the hot metal slide. If you sit upright and lean forward a little bit you will be fine. You notice when people start leaning back is when they start flying off of those hills!

30 years ago the giant slide was fun and was not so dangerous. I remember it was all yellow not metal. They changed the whole slide. Wow, I don't remember bouncing around like that as a kid.

It's was always fun back in the day..I just didn't like getting carpet burns and walking up all those stairs lol

When I Was In The 5th grade 8yrs old from lnkster, Michigan USA asking my Mom to go to detroit was so much Fun, enjoyed the Big slide let it stay lam 62yrs old now still had fun

Y'all crazy since the early '80s kids and grown ups been riding on the giant slide since I was a kid never got hurt it was 25 cents a ticket back then when I got older at the age of 20 and went to a dollar for adults and 50 Cent for kids no kid no grown up ever got hurt the giant slide it should be a historical slide for Detroit Michigan and that's word from your boy Blaze on

It's been a long long long time since I was on anything similar. Am I correct that other fiberglass slides have longer horizontal portions which slow one down between the drops?
