Great video pal! Would love a NVIDIA Shield but price tab out of my budget at the moment. Looking to get a 4K Amazon stick. Do you know if it's possible to change the UI/launcher on the Amazon stick?

Hi Adam. Google have doctored or nobbled puffin so it will not download apps and apks. you can download downloader and file linked. But side loading anything from anywhere else you have to use Xplore.file manager. Loading from a stick. Is there an apk that loads from the android phone like the app2fire does on a fire stick. Just set my dad (87) with a mi box s. He’s over the moon with it. I’m the one setting it up so I find it frustrating trying to find way to load apps. Most apps are hidden in settings but if you load the ATV app it puts all your hidden apps in one place on the home page. Is there a way to add another line of apps on the home page.

Hi don't know if you can help. Have you seen the new phantom tv. It works brill. But you do need to use your TV remote , only to press the green button to change the language. Our TV remote does work the firestick. But my sisters doesn't. Can you help , how can we get it to pair. With her tv remote. I have googled it. But nothing seems to be working. Thanks. I have a Yoka box for about 4 years now and am happy with it, also have a 4k fire stick in the bedroom and really like it as well. Love your bloopers, always makes me laugh, have a great weekend :-)

what about android tv? on a sony, philips, mi tv, tcl tv. these also have approved android. have translated this with google. my English is not so good.

What are the disadvantages of not buying a legit google certified Android tv box. Is mecool km3 worth buying if i don't care about Netflix as i will only install third party apps and how is it's performance and can i use it for many years or it might die in one or two years.

MeCool M8S Pro LB, and I love the ATV Launcher layout, however the remote did not work, and the box is unusable with Plex/LiveChannels app which was reason for the purchase. Lastly, no RU-vid TV. The app installs but errors out. Wish this would have been a better box.

Hi Freetech, Used to use firestick version 2 but it kept overheating buffering or crashing. So got a raspberry pi 3b+ and installed OMC kodi fork on it and it's top mate never ever had any issues with it at all had it for a year now

I’ve had an Android box for over two years and it’s called “ m8spro” and it’s been great for Netflix and I used showbox for over a year until I updated the system then showbox wouldn’t work, but I heard showbox wasn’t around anymore?? Can anyone tell me what happened to showbox?? And RU-vid has always been hard to use. But I don’t have any problem with Netflix and it’s all I watch anyhow. So the m8spro has been just fine really. If there are better ones let me know, thank you!

Hate android TV. For flexibility you can't beat a pure android box with an airmouse.

I've been using the M8S Pro L with bluetooth remote for 1 year, best box I've owned Android OS 7.1.1. Don't plan to ever go back to regular Android for my TV boxes. I also use a regular fly mouse with this box when needed.

That last one you spoke about sounds like shouwme me box something or other, is that the one that's set up like the shield? Looks alright that does but it's as you say big guy how long before an update or two reduces its capability y'kno. I would always swear by the shield if you can afford it but it is a lot of money & even they aren't beyond messing up as my two dud remotes will testify to

Mee cool km3 and km9 pro are officially google certified as they are among the list mentioned on Google's own website for android box list. Now Netflix not working issue has to do with support from Netflix not google. For example from past few years I am using Mi Tv box 3 which is google certified tv box. But it don't have prime video support officially. Now in Mi box S they have added support for prime video with Pie Update.

I have 2 Xiaomi Boxes (ver. 3 & ver. 4) as well as an Nvidia shield and a Roku (mistake!). I haven't had any issues with the cheaper Xiaomi Mi Box (for those on a budget) and would definitely recommend it; however, if budget is *not* an issue, go for the Nvidia shield. The boxes are used for pure TV watching pleasure and no gaming whatsoever.

I have two boxes, Super box 3 and the Monsterbox x1 max. I did this because each box has a different tv service so if one would go down I'd have the other one.

Mecool never pushes updates! The Xiaomi boxes suck! I have a KM3 and have had very few issues. I thought the KM3 was google certified.

I mainly use 2017 shield awesome. Occasionally use R-tv 10x in spare room.

I've got a Vodafone TV box from Vodafone Australia for a crazy cheap A$72, fully certified with Netflix, running Android TV 7 with specs almost the same as the Mi Box S - S905 processor, 2mb ram, 8mb storage AND it also a built-in TV card. Android TV is great, though more limited than normal Android for hackers. Btw, Google certification is not the same as Netflix certification - the manufacturer has to pay Netflix to get that. The Mecool KM3 and KM9 never had Netflix running officially, not sure where you got that one from, though I've read there are ways around it. As for apps on Android TV, it's not a big issue installing non-ATV apps from the USB, or using an air mouse, and you can also install Aptoide to get apps not in the Playstore.

Nvidia shield and M8S Pro l are the main two that I prefer.

I like set up on the Nvidia Shield better than on Chromecast with Google TV. On Chromecast with Google TV, unfortunately there is no way to remove the apps from the home screen without deleting them. That’s really a poor design if they would fix that everything would be better.

Got a Mi box S and the frustrating thing with it is it will not voice type on the on-screen keyboard. Got a Mecool with Nexus software on. Don't rate either and I am thinking of getting yet another 4k Firestick Whick will voice type, yer its a secret!😈

If you have a Mi Box S, you'll notice you can't find Amazon Prime video in the app store. If you sideload it, when you actually try watch it, you get no audio and it'll lock up. The fix is to download Amazon Prime 4.11.4 and sideload it, anything higher doesn't work. This is due to the pissing match between Google and Amazon. One thing I don't get is why you can't get Chrome in the app store!!! I also have not yet found an older version which will work. Because the browsers, IMO, that are in the app store...SUCK!!!!

I connect my Galaxy S9+ to my TV when I get home rather than having a dedicated streaming box, that way my streaming apps are with me when I'm out too. Once I'm home the phone is my router, everything else connects up to it. This way I save money not having to pay for home internet, current 4G is good enough and with 5G this system will be better than home broadbad. Only having to buy 1 device to be your phone, TV streamer, router and having less lag by having the mobie internet connection directly to it rather than being slowed by home WiFi, it's the best way to go in my opinion, you also get the benefit of having a full Android OS, no restrictions.
