I was a groundling when I saw Christopher Plummer playing King Lear at the Globe. I arrived early and was able to snag a position right by the stage, where I rested my elbows, and could have tugged on the hem of Goneril's long gown had I been so inclined. After I returned from the interval, of course that spot was gone, so I spent the second half leaning against the back wall. One of the highlights of many decades attending Shakespeare plays.

If I could merely spend a penny, I'd happy to listen to Dr Tosh all day.

I saw As You Like It at The Globe in 2019. I bought a seat because I didn't want to miss my chance to see the play, but this makes me think being a groundling would have been so much fun.

I attended Much Ado About Nothing as a groundling in the Globe. One of the actors paused mid-line to hit on one of the girls in our group, lol.
