What can I use to reduce swelling in my foot underneath the toes from rubber sandals from China that I wore too long and walked for miles? I've tried soaking with Epsom salt for 15 minutes in cold water, Benadryl, Zyrtec, Cortisone, Athlete's foot cream for the itching, lifting it up above heart for a few hours and sitting and walking on and off in the house...and finally I took an antibiotic today...nothing is helping...on day 3...going crazy...don't want to go the clinic for such a minor thing...this has happened before with the same sandals many years ago, I forgot about it. SO mad a myself.
I found out when I was about 11 that I was allergic to latex. I have spina bifida and latex allergies are common for people with spina bifida. I’ve heard that bananas high on the list of cross reactive foods I shouldn’t eat because of my latex allergy but so far I have no food allergies associated with latex. I remember one time I ate to many bananas in a day and my lip swelled.
I found this because I was looking to buy a natural latex mattress, but I’m allergic to latex so not sure if this would work. Someone said the protein in processed latex used in mattresses is different and doesn’t cause a reaction, is that true? Or is it best to skip the latex mattress altogether?
@Dayjob It most likely was. Natural stuff is allergenic! But also a lot of latex like chemical foams can be equally allergenic, so best to use hypo-allergic stuff IMO.
