Sir what do you mean by no pleural fluid is evident and the other one the osseous structure are unremarkable is that good or bad of my plain ct chest result i hope your response sir 🙏
An important item that was lacking was the protein content which differentiates transudative and exudative. Transudative will have proteins levels < 25g/L and exudative will have protein levels > 35g/L.
@@thepharmacistacademy I haven’t seen that. Typically pleurodesis is done either with a thoracotomy or administered via chest tube, both of which would not require a thoracentesis.
I've watched Eddie's lectures since I was a newer nurse, to now a seasoned nurse. Whenever I feel like work had knocked me down, which has been quiet often for the past year, I would listen to Eddie talks, and it would calms me, as odd as it sounds. Thank you for all you do for all of us nurses.

How fast should this be drained? Without causing cavity to fill with air, which creates another challenge. And the pain factor to the patient not only as the lung reexpands, but in worst cases recollapses.

Misplaced feeding tube caused death of my husband and no one would attest to this, only one caregiver who pointed it out to me. Sad state in this world!
Eddie, can parasite infections cause pleural effusion? I ask because filariasis or schistosomiasis can plug the lymphatic system. Might this lead to a chylothorax? I believe that Paragonimus infections can also cause pleural effusions if I'm not mistaken.
