There's no such thing as a biblical tithe that was received from earned wages. Monetizing the tithe was man's idea after the Bible was written. There's nothing wrong with choosing to "tithe" to a church or otherwise. There's just no biblical mandate to do so. We are free to give, not bound to pay.

That is what I was going to say as well. There are verses on generosity, but there is no mandate for 10% specifically, it can be much more!

@markb7067, you are exactly correct. Tithes under the Old Covenant was always food and money was never given as tithes. Plus tithing was only for Jews that planted seed for food or raised animals for food but only inside the Promised Land. Tithes were not required by God from people from other professions. New Covenant Christians are not required to tithe and preachers do not qualify as tithe receivers. Brother George
