I've recently found your channel. I was wondering if you could make a video about how many carbs someone needs when the don't have a thyroid. I'm a 47 year old female with no thyroid. I was doing a carnivore diet and noticed my thyroid levels kept dropping. My doctor kept increasing my medication, but never talks to me about nutrition.The last 2 months I've been adding whole food carbs back in my diet just under 50 grams of carbs. I do feel better. I just wanted to make sure that's enough or if I should go higher carb. I would love to hear your thoughts in a video or even in a comment here. Thank you.. Aubrey
Hi Aubery, here is one to start with: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-mf1Cco_Kegw.html Thyroid function does best when carbs are not lower than 25% of calories. It's hard to say exact grams because caloric needs vary so much.
You never talk about low TSH and low T4, and then testing T3. I ended up having 2 thyroid surgeries because they never figured out that my pituitary wasn't making TSH. Years of hell! Years of telling me that I was OK...... I also do not convert T4 medications to T3 but to Reverse T3. People die because no one ever talks about this.
When TSH and T4 are low, one should consider pituitary disease. It is less common, which is why I've made less content about it, but any doctor should consider it. Unfortunately, it took so long in your case.
