The current issues on sales is due to housing an income. People are at their limits. They cant afford new processors when they are trying to get a house. An jobs aren't paying as much. Problems are everywhere. Buying is going to have to wait in general.
AM4 lives forever. In about 10 years, there will be a massive amount of working AM4 CPUs looking for still functioning AM4 motherboards Edit: To be clear CPUs outliving motherboards is nothing new but, given the lifespan of AM4, the ratio between still functioning motherboards vs CPUs is bound to be more pronounced in later years
AMD Had to do ONE of TWO things....Either Drop the Prices Generation to Generation (I.E. The Ryzen 5 9600x should be $199.99, and the Ryzen 7 9700x should be $299.99) or increase Core Count, Generation to Generation (i.e. Ryzen 5 9600x should've been 8-Core/16-Thread and sell for $299.99, yeah it cost more than the 7600x at launch, but it has TWO more cores, and competitive with the previous Gen Ryzen 7) . If you're wondering the 6-Cores would become Ryzen 3 or stay Ryzen 5 with a lower number. The 9600x could've become the Ryzen 3 9300x or Ryzen 5 9400x. If Ryzen 9 can have 12 and 16 cores, Ryzen 5 can have 6 and 8 Cores.
New High-End Computer is becoming Niche-Super Niche with only Gamers/Scientific Modeling/Home Labs jumping the gun. When people say "seconds/milliseconds matter" they're a very specific market without a lot of volume. Chances are, they're probably still on 2-3 gen upgrade refresh similar to gamers. The 9K series is really meant to capture people from the 3K... Maybe even 5K Ryzen customers. But people are still hesitant to upgrade...

All of the zen 5 reviews are completely all over the place. Same tests on different channels have different results. I would wait atleast few months when we get more agesa bios updates.
Exactly, the reviews are all over the place, and the biggest one most of them leave off is the massive drop in TDP across the board, and how these handle working computations MUCH better. If you're gaming only, yeah they are kind meh, but otherwise they are definitely not deserving of all the hate.
@@cashandraven2369 The TDP hasnt gone down across the board, what are you talking about. The 7x00 non X have an overall lower consumption for overall computer use, and kinda similar or better performance in games. In fact, in the performance vs wattage, a humble 5600 schools so many cpu's it's not even funny.
My ASRock X370 motherboard is still getting updates. I currently have a 5800x with 32gb of RAM and a 6700xt but they put out an update for the 5800x3d so I could even get that if I wanted to. Idk if they'll do anything for the 5600x3d or 5500x3d but for a first gen Ryzen board, it's still going strong as my HTPC. I got it at launch for $220 and I have zero complaints about buying it. Well done ASRock.
AMD is giving us every chip in the 5000 series with X3D at the end of it aside from the one I wanted all along: 5950X3D. With none of that "one CCD has it and one doesn't" nonsense.
On one of GN’s videos of AMD, some of their engineers were testing a some kind of 5950X3D (both ccd with vcache). THAT will be the holy grail of AM4. Hope they release it so I can finally replace my 5800x3d without buying new memory or mobo
I started my B550 journey with a 3600x, then got a 5600x, made another computer around that and my original 3600x became a 5800x3D. AMD was a great choice for me.

I watch a lot of youtubers that recap news stories but UFD Tech is the only one that go through comments and respond in video. I love the idea of trying to start conversations about disagreements. Just wanted to say I appreciate your bit on why comment response exists. I’ve been watching the show for over a year now and, no matter how much the channel grows, your news reporting and opinions have generally felt well grounded and in touch in my opinion. In the techtube space, it’s always annoying when personalities become too involved on the business/legal/enthusiast side of things and start talking down the “average user” for not being able/willing to do things like try a new OS, troubleshoot issues, etc which you frequently bring up thankfully. Keep doing what you’re doing and stay humble!
Agreed. But we also need intel to do a comeback so they can spend a lot more in R&D on their gpu department and deliver high performance at a low price crushing amd and nvidia duopoly. They've already done the hard work, the heavy lifting (driver optimisation now on intel arc is unbelievably good for a only two years old gpu company, Nvidia is 30 years old as a comparison). Now they only need to be less greedy than Amd and Nvidia. And I'm saying this as an Amd guy with a 5600G+6650xt system
Honestly a game benchmark that's free is a really cool idea, and it helps smaller reviewers that can't afford every new game that really pushes the pc systems
The only time I would leave AM4 for 5 is in a few years when 7500F and 7600(x) get cheaper, or they release a 7100, 7200, 7300, or go crazy with a 7300X3D, because the 8400F is very disappointing. If they released a 5950X3D that would be pretty nice, but I know that died on the labroom floor
The problem that 5500X3D (if $199) will face is currently and most probably for a while, the 5700X3D. They are selling on Amazon for only $210 so for just $10 you get significantly better CPU as of now, which is crazy.

AMD ordered so much AM4 chips from TSMC they are trying to find ways to get rid of it XD. On one hand that is awesome, on the other hand god damn way to overstock your supply AMD...
I can (try to) answer the question "What is AMD doing". Designing vastly improved chiplets for EPYC that will totally sweep the market for workstations, servers (clouds, AI and so), make a tone(s) of money, while for desktop will have 2 different lines. The nonX3D for general purpose and/or multitasking and the X3D for gamers. This is a new beginning with more distinctive segmentation between products. At this point of Zen5 release, a lot don't make sense to the majority... but this is not over yet I think. We will know for sure after the X3D parts. I'm only trying to make some sense of what is happening.
AMD 9000 isn't bad. It's not unstable, broken or failing which is way more than team blue can say right now. Perhaps that's what folks should be focused on.
Google Pixel is becoming a really good phone, but sadly the CPU and GPU performance is abysmal for the price they're asking, Apple is trying to run console games on iPhone while Google is pushing more AI, as a gamer and game developer I'd take faster CPU + GPU over faster NPU (assuming Google didn't lie about it either).
@rmHawk765 Its more of a general power example than anything. As someone who doesnt use AI features, an NPU is a worthless waste of money, space, and power. Working GPU drivers within 6 months on the other hand, would have been great (Sd 8 Gen 3)
Good question now that you ask it sounds like they just won’t because it gonna make many question what’s the point of going AM5?! I just got an 5700X3D and it actually pairs quite well with my newly purchase 4080 super! Now if I had an 5950x3D I would have really been like what the point of am5 at that point!
Do you think CPU performance is starting to plateau? with how AMD is still supporting AM4 and the 9000 series only really having power efficiency improvements it doesnt feel like hardware is practically getting any better for the common consumer
My main thing with the new Pixels is will they have display output on the USB-C port? I have a Pixel 7 Pro now and not having that makes me wanna switch to a Samsung. If they do, I might get another Pixel.
4:10 we have an intel CPU that was spanked by the 9600X on sale for slightly lower price than the 9600X, and is affected by the Intel suicide voltage bug... ah no thanks
9000 series are out of stock on best buy, newegg stopped charging 80 CAD for shipping yesterday and amazon is still selling these chips 570 CAD instead of their 500 CAD MSRP. OF COURSE they don't sell well, they still didn't launch them. They're going to do the same thing for 9900x and 9950x. AMD should've disclosed a separate release date for the US and Canada if i'm going to wait an entire month extra to get mine.
I keep waiting for 5800x3d to come down on price and up on availability. They went from $250 to over $500, and now they are coming down to $330. For most of my gaming difference between 7800x3d and 5800x3d isn't that much, but I would hate to upgrade to a slower Ghz than what i have, so I want to get the 5800x3d and not 5700x3d. It is silly, since the fps difference is negligible.
i’m beginning to think AM5 is gonna be 3 gen of Zen that are all gonna be within 5 percent of each of them, and AM4 is gonna be around till im old and grey with a 1,000,000 percent increase in performance between Zen 1 and Zen 69 X3DXT. With a 2 percent increase between the 69950X3D and 69950X3DXT. Still 16 cores and 32 threads, and still around $600-700 dollars by the way but adjusting to inflation is actually a good deal…
i got a new monitor the first video I clicked was yours and I didn't notice the disclaimer at the first of the video and I literally spent like 15 min trying to play with the settings then I restarted the video and then saw the disclaimer and now I am trying to get over the fact that I am a fool
wow, where was all these buget, super cpus when I was building my first computer. (this was before Ryzen 9000 rumors) but I had gotten a R5 4600 for $80 new.
I feel like AMD put out a chip with some advance stuff inside but not a lot of programs can take advantage of. When you give better hit after hit of CPU I think they hit a wall. Tech has many path ways to choose from so let’s see how the market sways down the road. 😊

What is AMD doing? Continuing to put out the best CPU’s that will ever come out. I remember all you RU-vidrs saying the AM4 platform was dead. That was over a year ago. I disagreed at that time and I HAVE BEEN VINDICATED.
