Oh my god, man, thank you so much for such a slow paced clear video. I'm a musician, but a proper newbie with tech, and I've been so frustrated fumbling trying to connect the interface. Scarlett interface very clearly explained. In fact I was here after watching your other video on how to record vocal over a backing track in Ableton which actually helped me choose it for my DAW. Wish they had such videos on the Scarlett site or Ableton site which unfortunately isn't the case and leaves users guessing what to do!

Wow. This is one of the best review i've watch regarding recording guitar sound. Especially I'm newbie and have no experience on this. I would just hope that you show a demo on how you run the cables from guitar all the way to the computer. And also maybe you can show us how to add a multi effects pedal on the setup. I'm currently thinking of doing some recording of my guitar but I have no idea how. Really appreciate your love and passion about music. Thanks man.

Really good video! Sometime I feel some youtubers forget that there are plenty of newbies watching, and fail to explain simply the features and stuff ... But this video is great! Both explained things simply - to be clear for people that didn't have experience with preamps/interfaces etc... and still managed to keep it short enough and to the point to fit in the average user attention span! :) Keep it up man!

Thank you for making it all so simple to understand. I'm used to sound engineers explaining that the analog sound signals from the mic go through the "box" (in this case the Focusrite) which converts it to digital signals for the computer to "read," then they talk about phantom power for the condenser mic (push the 48V button), etc., etc. Anyway, thanks again for your video.

As someone just getting started on electronic drums and wanting to record that (plus the backing tracks from my iPad), this helped me so much. I was trying to monitor with headphones plugged into the computer (because I lost my last 1/4" adapter for the Scarlet) and couldn't hear...even though it was recording. Awesome...subscribed!

great video....pls anybody I need help. So I have a condenser mic, Ive connected it to my macboom via a usb..the input levels are sooo bad, the internal built in mic is better. Would a studio interface like this help with increasing the mics volume? pls any help/advice would be appreciated

This is the best video I have seen explaining the workings and set up. I currently use a 1/4 jack splitter into the amp other wise known as a 2 into 1 . One input lead from the Acoustic Guitar/POD 2 and the other input from the iPad 2 music backing track.

This is the BEST explanation Ive received. I almost gave up. This video was recorded 6YEARS ago. But it important for me who just bought the 2i2 3rd gen.
