What is Apple TV?

The Apple TV brand has been expanding, especially with Apple making its own movies and TV shows. There is now Apple TV 4K, Apple TV HD, Apple TV+, and Apple TV App. In this video I hope to explain what the difference is between all the products with basically the same name.

I have to disagree.. and this is not to dispute or change your mind but to share why. I’ve had multiple smart tvs, and unfortunately when I want to add an app to the “smart” part, the app may not be available. Some like Samsung tv only has a set amount of non-samsung apps, like Netflix Hulu etc, and the rest are Samsung specific apps. Sony smart tv is better appwise. With Apple TV (not Apple TV+ streaming service) some of my phone apps will actually add to my list on the tv. Extremely simple to watch videos and pics even other apps from phone to tv also. If you’re an apple person the way they integrate together makes a difference too. Like with everything what you use first, or are familiar with will be what you prefer.

@@leeann9775 Chromecast > all. You use your phone to control, much better than a remote, Android apps are much better and faster than any fancy device app, including Samsung TVs.

Nobody is making a video telling the truth. Apple TV is expensive hardware that runs apps that your smart TV can run. You wanna spend 200+ to have Siri on your tv? That’s the real question.

@@carlitoxb110 Yep, and for the price of an AppleTV box you can get a better TV, so what's your point? I get it though. I bought the Apple TV 4K for my dumb TV, but once I realized the reality that I mentioned above I kind of felt like a fool. You have to really love being in and supporting the restrictive Apple ecosystem to be at peace with that. I'm trying.

Can you do a video on the Apple TV app? I noticed once I downloaded the Apple TV app to my Roku SMART television, I am able to listen to content on my iPhone via the app...through the SMART TV.

Hi so I actually recommend RU-vid tv I don't think Apple TV has live channels, I just switched from version to RU-vid tv and it was more than half the price and it has all the channels and movies I need, I can add family members, and I can watch on any device that has the app. I really recommend you check it out. Hope this helps.

Because some of us still have an extremely high end large screen tv that literally released the month before the first smart TVs came out. The picture quality is still amazing and I just don't care to get a new one.

I just spent and hour to subscribe to watch greyhound but couldn't get my fire stick to work. I spent 3 more hours trying to unsubscribe. Never again. Tom Hanks screwed a lot of people by selling this out to apple. Pisses me off that it won't come out on dvd. I will never see it as i refuse to deal with anything related to apple!

That was exactly what I needed. Thank you for breaking that down! What is the simplest way to use AirPlay so I can watch stuff from my iPhone/iPad on my non-smart TV? How do I do that? That's different from Apple TV right?

Buying an airplay compatible streaming device to plug in to your tv is probably the easiest way. Such as an Apple TV box or even a 4K Roku device, which are starting to support airplay.

I’ve had Apple TV’s since the ATV3 came out, now I’ve upgraded to a Samsung 4K TV with AirPlay 2, rendering my ATV 4 almost useless, BUT my TV Speaker is a HomePod... I struggle now part with the cash to upgrade to an Apple TV 4K... #EcosystemProblems
