Aqeeda is absolutely essential as it is the knowledge of Allah and the unseen. Much of the nasty polemics has more to do with philosophy, politics and sectarianism which inflame the ego and the human instinct towards tribalism.

Assalamu 'Alaikum. Recently a video was posted titled " Should a person stick to one madh'hab?" (I might be a bit off with the exact wordings bit they were somewhat along the line of what I mentioned) I don't see it here anymore. Will you be reuploading it? It is a really helpful one so it would be nice if you could do so.

Many people (muslim) say the word 'Aqeedah' is not to be found anywhere in the Qur'an so it is not as important. I do not know how to react to that since I feel Aqeedah is very crucial for our belief.

The word doesn't just come from nowhere... from what I understand the general concept is derived from sunnah taken from various hadiths in reference to the journey Mu’adh ibn Jabal took to Yemen, with instructions by the Prophet (PBUH) including the proper method to teach the people of Yemen (outsiders/non-muslims) the practice of Islam: Sahih Muslim 19a, 1732, 1733a Sahih Bukhari 39, 3038, 4341, 4342 furthermore, Aqidah linguistically is derived from the root aqada. In Arabic, one states, "aqada the rope" when the rope is tied firmly. And, "aqada the sale" or "he settled the sale" when the person ratifies and contracts a sale or agreement. Allah says in the Qur'an: "And as for those whom your right hands have made a covenant (aqadat)." Al-Qur'an 4:33 And Allah also says: "But He will take you to task for the oaths which you swear in earnest (aqadtum)," Al-Qur'an 5:89 Which means asserted and adhered to, as proven in the verse: "And break not oaths after the assertion of them." Al-Qur'an 16:91 If one says, "aqadtu such and such," it means his heart is firm upon such and such. Therefore, aqidah or'itiqad according to the scholars of Islam is the firm creed that one's heart is fixed upon without any wavering or doubt. It excludes any supposition, doubt or suspicion.

it's not important only if you think things like iman, tawhid, and avoiding shirk are not important. because that is basically what aqidah is..
@sfgdragoon
@sfgdragoon Год назад
Its not important if you want don't to go to jannah 😅

@@sfgdragoon Yeah yeah I agree. I kinda miswrote my statement. I mean to say that Aqeedah is important but many Muslims do not give any emphasis on it

Words and definitions don't need to be found exactly in order to use it since words only convey meaning and ideas and the meaning and idea of ʿAqīdah is throughout the Quran.

I think he misspoke when he said knowing 99 names of Allah is Aqeedah. Actually Allah has unknown number of names and attributes. Quran and Hadith have more than 99, all comprise of our Aqeedah. He also misspoke about Aqeedah by saying "may be most important". It is the most important aspect of Aqeedah. I agree with him Aqeedah can be taken from hadith Jibreel. He failed to state that most important aspect of Aqeedah is knowing Allah and accepting for who He is. When we talk about deviation that crept into Tawheed, polemics is natural. He tried to diminish discussion on Tawheed in a subtle way. One way is to discourage common people from discussing it instead he is suggesting to talk to scholars and student of knowledge. He did not elaborate who those are. Typical scare tactic of Indo Pak deviant scholars. He is a new and improved version of them. Someone needs to ask him, are we not obligated to talk about Tawheed to invite people to Islam?

Remember what Allah said in the Quran, some assumptions are sinful. Sad to see some Muslim has this negative connotation about another Muslim. Listen to his message. What’s wrong with what he said? You literally assume the worst for your own Muslim brother. Don’t go down that route because if you’re wrong about your assumptions, you might have to face it in the day of judgment.
