People in comments saying Indians aren't racists are bullshitting. I'm an indian have been called what not by fellow indian strangers on road because of my looks, in a derogatory way. It has affected many people like me n from very young age. See, people in general think of themselves as kings in their territories and look down upon others who are different be it race or sexual orientation or economic status. But a good human being is the one who at least intentionally don't make others go through situations which he himself doesn't wish to be in.
Thanks for being honest. I am in the USA, and unfortunately, a lot of Indians and Asians overall are notoriously anti-Black. I think it's due to the shared genetic and cultural heritage that whites/Caucasian and Asians share. There's a vitriol towards dark skin, which is why the Vedic gods are depicted lighter-skimned than the pre-Vedic gods. The obsession with skin color is deep within their makeup, IMO. Let's be honest, N. INDIANS discriminate against S. INDIANS regarding skin tone, facial features, and hair texture. I believe the South Indians are the most beautiful since they hold the original phenotype of pre-Vedic India.

Visiting India as an African American was not as bad as I was warned it would be. Of course, I encountered unpleasant people (one guy was laughing & recording a video of me), but I encounter unpleasant people in the US all the time. 😂
