Hi, I am importing some used sewing machines through my company for setting up a garments factory. I will not bring any motors for those machines. Do I need a BIS Authorization?

It's really good initiative by you Sir. Very well explained. I have a question ....I clear uncleared customs goods through Tenders and They ask For BIS but since we are neither importer nor manufacturer what should we do?

Sir, ek end user ke liye squirrel cage induction motor import kar rahi hu....jo india me manufacture nehi hota hai ...end user certificate dene ke liye vi ready hai . lekin baad me pata chala BIS ke barey me .....aab keya korna hai ?

IS certification applicable hai is induction motor ke liye ar HS Code bi depend krta hai. agr shipment import ho chuka hai ar clearance me hai to apko visit krna hoga apke alloted BIS office. Agr bi import ni hua hai ya intransit hai to CHA se discuss kriye, There is other option as well.

Yes, As per new circular, both shoes comes under BIS certification.

Thank you so much for explaining entire BIS scheme. Would you please let me know if power cord is mandatory while exporting electric product to India? We have certified both power adapter and power cord in the BIS report, but not sure if it's mandatory included both components as accessories in the packing. Many thanks..

@alison, Everything depend upon description, If you use adaptor word then BIS must. If its a 1 set (Adaptor + Cord) then BIS required only for Adaptor. Accessories words can use when you import one machine then BIS not applicable (but depend upon product). Before you import, always share description & HS code to your custom house agent take his advise, Are they able to get clearance with BIS or without.

Sir Mai SS Materials Import karna chahta hu like SS Pipe Or SS Coils. Or mujhe yeh material local Market me sale karna hai. BIS Certificate lena hoga kya. BIS Certificate k liye kaise issue karna hoga.

Yes BIS applicable hai but kch exemption bi mil jate hai, Apko apne nearest BIS office visit kriye wha aapko agent mil jayenge wo apko guide kregne,

My Apple Macbook Pro M1 laptop stucked in mumbai customs it is from Canada To India they are asking for BIS Certificate to clear my shipment please help me it is stucked from 1 month what can i do please reply me sir i am really very frustrated.

There is chance, It can be clear without BIS with the help of technical details & model number. Connect with CHA this is a easy process. They will help you for clearance.
