Can we use pointer or typecasting in bit masking

to extract bits of lower nibble in your example for AND operator , shouldnt it had been opposite ? you should AND the lower nibble with all 0000 and the higher nibble with 1's so the higher ones remain unchanged . Am I right?

No. The example shown is extracting bits of lower nibble. This means you want to have the lower nibble bits unchanged and the higher nibble bits become zero. So the video is correct, you should AND the lower nibble with 1111 so they become unchanged and higher nibble with 0000 so they become zero as well.
