My neuro just put me on this yesterday. Holy cow! It along with my lamictal MAKES ME DROWSY AS FRICK! Like seriously! I’m just hoping it doesn’t make me rage like Keppra! That stuff, when I’d have meltdowns from sensory overload, I’d sit there and bang my head for like an hour or so after getting out of my college classes. But wow, just wow. It was horrible! My family couldn’t understand until they spoke to the neuro, why I was so snippy with everyone. I really hope this is better than keppra for those effects because multiple suicidal attempts aren’t fun and I have an awesome little boy who would be devastated if he didn’t have his momma here.

I haven't been on brivaracetam but I have Lamictal. I declined to go on Keppra when they offered it to me because of the Keppra rage. I just didn't want to chance it. I have heard horrible things about it from many people. I hope this works for you and I'm sorry to hear about you having multiple suicide attempts. I tried twice in my teenage years when I was not getting the help I need. If you are able to, try to find a therapist you can trust. I have found talking to a therapist along with exercise and yoga have greatly decreased any suicide tendencies.

I'm curious, as I've been living on brivaracetam for over 6 months now they don't stop seizures they curb apatite and give me tinsis morning day and night to the point I can hear that ringing in my ears over the tv and fits just have less warning now. These are taken for focal onset and grand mal epilepsy and brain surgery will just leave me with weak down one side of the body blind in one eye with memory problems so I stick with meds. I'm curious to if you have ringing in your ears after taking these meds

@@chrislow1173 I myself have never taken Brivaracetam myself for treatment, so I cannot say from a patient perspective of how it would be. If you would like, I can see if I can find some information for you. If you feel that you are not benefiting from the medication, I would speak to your doctor and see what other options that might be available. I wish you the very best and find something to help you soon. It took years for them to find the right combination of medication for me so I empathize and understand the frustration that this causes.
