It is nonsensical to claim the universe was caused “by chance,” as this turns chance into a magical force that has the power to create reality. Whenever people say an event has taken place “by chance,” they’re merely expressing their ignorance about how it occurred. In this message, R.C. About 7 or 8 years ago, I used to listen to Dr. RC Sproul’s radio broadcasts early in the morning around 4 a.m. while I was driving to work in a distant suburb from Minneapolis. About half-way through his broadcast, I would be outside of the city, and would lose radio signals. That is when I began to buy his messages on CD’s. I enjoy his teachings. I am so glad his viewership on RU-vid is increasing.

Really respect rc's teachings. I have learned much from him. It occurs to me that the idea of "chance" and the understanding of it depends wholly on ones perspective and understanding of the other possible perspectives. There is a meme that illustrates the difference between true and truth. It is simply a cylinder with lights shining on and casting shadows from two different angles. One shadow is a circle, the other is a rectangle. Both shadows are true. But the cylinder is truth... In that regard the understanding of chance would depend upon your observation of it from two possible vantage points. The first as a man confined by our position in time, able to see the past with the future hidden by our limitations of time. Chance disappears when those limitations are removed. Only God has this perspective, so what we call chance applies to something that in our perspective has not yet happened. With Gods perspective chance does not exist...

Excuse me, but I think that Eve wasn’t in the picture yet when Adam “named” all the animals. I don’t have time to look it up right now because I’m fixing dinner. But if I remember correctly, through the process of taxonomy, it was decided that Adam NEEDED a special partner so THE CREATOR did what HE DOES to fix that problem. Aren’t we glad!?⁉️

Spontaneous refers to a chemical rxn that occurs naturally without input of energy. It is a reaction that releases energy, such as a bonfire. It has nothing to do with speed the reaction occurs. RC is still correct, bc for an expansion such as the "Big Bang" (supernova) to occur, it would have had to have a stimulus. So the big bang theory is just begging the question of how can a reaction occur without an outside force. Or a better question is where did the singularity come from?...This is all just a theory that allows someone to push backcreated

Out of nothing comes nothing as in no-thing which is not even a little something but in instead nothing. I'm pretty sure Mr sproul talks about nothing a lot more in one of the other sermons from the 70s or so........I like when he talks about nothing. I like my nothing to be nothing but when a naturalist materialist worldview type talks about nothing their version of it always turns out to be something which frustrates me.

Natural science, biology in particular, starts out as taxonomy but progresses to generate predictions that can be tested empirically. Lack of empirical testing renders it mere speculation or navel gazing, or especially today, glorified ideology.

Chance is the unfortunate luck of the draw, that happened prior to Creation, when the sovereign Calvinist God decreed to predestine the randomly chosen non-elect goats to Hell for no known reason other than so he could barbecue them for his own good selfish glory.

What if God wanting to show his majesty and mercy of his own Supreme Will and Power. Created us beings for the specific purpose of Him receiving worship for His Mercy and Grace and everything he created. All the Angels (Sons of God) praised him after creation. The King deems who is worthy for Glory to Glory and those who "were" not of us to destruction. The Potter has power over the clay. Enter the King of the Universe's Courts to complain to an Almighty power God and Jesus the King of Kings what your morality is in the universe is. Go to another country and tell a king how to run his moral system. You will find yourself no longer among the living. Common sense should kick in. You do not have the cards in the universe. The Almighty God, has every right to do "ALL HIS PLEASURE". Praise Him for His Word and His Mercy.
