My favorite is a stir fry, with a peanut butter sauce. Great to know everything I include in that meal provides me more health benefits than I realized 💪😉👍
Genetic testing revealed my daughter has a snip variant to a gene that metabolizes choline. She has had focus and memory issues and was diagnosed ADD before we knew about the genetic factor. Supplementing with choline has been a game changer for her. We haven’t found the right amount yet, but keep trying.
The "Average" diet of most non-vegans is probably a lot worse than someone who has decided to adopt a plant based diet and done some research into it. Most folk live on ready meals and junk food. Meat vs Vegan is not the issue, eating healthy natural food is, regardless of it being either animal or vegetable.
Peanut Butter provides about 11mg of Choline per 2 tbs. that's 188 calories. We need 450mg per day so in order to get that from Peanut Butter we'd need to consume 40.9 servings which comes out to over 7000 calories! Obviously no one will eat only peanut butter, they'll eat other foods too, but you claim peanut butter is high in Choline. It is very low in Choline in fact. So far I haven't been able to design a vegan diet that supplies anywhere close to adequate Choline.
It feels like you are repeating yourself a lot, saying the same things in Diff. ways. I don't know if its because of some monetary thing , you need to make video 10 min. Nothing wrong in making a 10 min. video if you offer new info. This is just how i felt watching it. keep up the good work
@@KentuckyChicken2 they do it bc of googles ad revenue model, videos must be over 10mins, it's a shame for content users but i agree, the short term solution is to play the videos at a faster speed lol
While there are a lot of foods that vegans regularly eat that contain choline, those foods are relatively low in it, so vegans do have to be careful to eat enough.
Yes individual plant sources are lower in choline but we eat so many of those sources, we get enough from our diet. Choline deficiency is not documented in significant numbers in vegan people. Most doctors have never had a patient who was “choline deficient” and even people who eat animals typically fall below the recommended daily amounts because those amounts are based on insufficient experiments in a laboratory, so technically, there really isn’t even a concrete daily value, but those who know not how to vegan won’t tell you that part. Lol. We’re fine. I think the more pressing concern is meat eaters not getting enough fruits, vegetables, and microbial variety for the proper function of the gut. 🤷🏾♀️😉🍎🍑🍏🫑❤️
There are some reasonable vegan sources of choline: soybeans (214mg per cup), wheat germ (153mg per 3 ounces), soy milk (57mg per cup), broccoli (62mg per cup), cauliflower (50mg per cup), red potatoes (50mg per cup), peanuts (48mg per 0.5 cup), and asparagus (47mg per cup), collard greens (73mg per cup). Although some of these foods are light, they are low in calories. So, it wouldn't hurt to consume a sufficient amount. If you eat enough whole foods you're likely meeting your daily needs of choline. However, the problem is that most people do not consume enough whole foods these day.
@@leximohamed9532 Dang that sounds serious. On top of taking a good choline supplement like Citicoline I'd reccomend a bile acid supplement like TUDCA, that really helped me personally
don't think it's cleared up just yet. So far the only vegan source of adequate Choline I've found is Quinoa, and it will require 10 cups of cooked Quinoa to provide the recommended daily amount of 400mg. that 10 cups of Quinoa will supply 2200 calories which for me is too much. I plan to keep researching but Peanut Butter happens to be low in choline 11mg per 188 calorie serving means I'd have to eat 40 servings over 7000 calories to get my daily Choline.
Be proud of the precursors of the food chain... best coenzyme and neuroprotectors are in plant sourced elements as the density qualified to our metabolic synthesis... there is the misconseption of being plant based isn’t enough but adding the catalytic enzymes also spices fatty amino acids it’s enough... this asswipes don’t want the plant based community to thrive... vitamin B’s are primary to embed genetic arrangement...
It’s kind of impractical, especially on a limited budget, to get choline on a vegan diet, unfortunately. Note the amounts listed in the food items mentioned at the end of the video and then compare that to the 425-450 recommended adequate intake (AI) for adult women and men, respectively. And that’s before looking at SNPs that can affect choline uptake and use. For example, if a person as a problem with folate/folic acid metabolism (i.e. an MTHFR variant), choline becomes the main methyl donor and intake may need to be increased.
After 3 years of a clean vegan diet, I started to eat eggs, 2 a day. The reason was a huge craving of eggs, even raw. I never liked eggs and it was never my fav food before going vegan. But lately, last 6 months I started to sleep very bad, my focus went super low. I supplement myself with B12 and make sure I eat very rich diet ( I am a nutritionist). But the health was going down. After huge research I found out that we were eating eggs since we appeared on this planet (stealing eggs from birds). So our body is built to get enough of choline every single day and vegan diet can not cover it at all. Sources are mentioned in this video are max 30 mg all together. When we need 400 mg at least. To soften the consumption of eggs, I buy them from local people in my neighborhood who have a few chickens just for themselves, so I don't support huge violence. It's sad in a way because I really enjoyed being vegan. But eggs and omega 3 fish oil I must eat.
it was very interesting, i didn't know i had a liver problem, but i found it in your speech the signs of having a liver disease. All signs you have mention is true. thanks for all inspiring words it really helps. Thanks and bless you.
As long as you have a varied rich Plant-based diet you have enough. Excess of it by supplements cause low blood pressure, fishy smell, and breathing problems, too much sweat of anxiety, and excess of salivation.
So I'm vegan and don't want to gamble with my health, I also study nutrition at uni so I am learning conventional mainstream nutritonal science. My curiosity is sure there is choline in plant foods (broccoli, quinoa, soy, mushrooms etc), but there is nowhere near enough to get close to even 400mg of choline a day which is still less than the recommended amount for a woman. 43mg from quinoa + 58mg from mushrooms + pinto beans 30mg + peanut butter 11mg + broccoli 31mg + 1 cup of soy milk 57mg + halfa cup of tofu 35mg = 265mg and that's taking into account if you're eating all of those foods every day, it's way under the recommended amount. I'm a guy (2 meters tall, 105kgs, highly athletic), my recommended daily intake is 550mg, though given my size and how under studied choline is I probably need a bit more than 550mg. With 265mg of choline each day (roughly half the daily intake for a guy) on the above foods, shouldn't everyone following a vegan diet also take a choline supplement?
This recent attempt At throwing doubt on a Vegan diet ‘Choline’ has already been intelligently and more than adequately addressed by a couple Vegan yt’ers, I think ‘Mic the Vegan’ was one of them.
The plant based vegan diet nearly ruined my health. I was vegetarian for a decade before going vegan. I immediately developed severe asthma, due to I now realize to low hydrochloric acid and poor micro biome - being unable to digest vital nutrients. I became allergic to most foods. It affected my brain, digestion & respiratory system negatively. It took me years to recover.. My body thrives on animal products & red meat. It did not thrive on even a very attentive vegan diet. Now I listen to my body. If there was a natural disaster and we could not access shops vegans would die. They cant even eat insects. If this diet was natural for humans supplements for vital nutrients like b12 would not be needed.
Non vegans can get a lot of choline in just two eggs a day , which equates about half the amount of choline necessary to an adult par day. Personally, getting fresh eggs from a farm, I often use a raw yolk mixed with other foods.
They are the most dangerous things to eat on the earth. High in bacteria, cholesterol, saturated fats, chemicals ect. Eating vegetables did't start a pandemic !
2 tablespoons of Peanut Butter = 11mg. You best be eating a crap ton of peanut butter and veggies daily just to get 400+ mg Choline a day... I am trying out the supplimemt to see if I notice a faster change in my memory & brain fog
@@valjean2036 I am supplementing with a Choline (250 mg) a day and I noticed changes to memory recall right away and no more brain fog. I also include lions main mushroom stimulating brain cell growth.

Thank you so so much god blessings going your way for you and your family HOPE I get it to buy please god Since the passing of my husband I'm a total wreck a single parent I'm like don't know where i am or what to do cannot sleep my eyes getting yellow
Most of the vegans I know pretty much live on meat substitutes, chickpeas, bread and pasta, kale, avocados and maybe broccoli sometimes. They don't even drink soy milk, they buy oat milk. Kinda concerning tbh. I'm going to start taking a choline supplement, I had ADHD, Depression + Bipolar before I went plant based, but I do feel it's gotten noticeably worse at times. I was always somewhat intolerant to eggs, so the link is interesting.
Actually I am now in diet and in one month of Ive lost 4kgs.. half rice every meal, pure vegetable with very small amount of salt.. but i am trying not to put sometimes.. i blend apple and banana for my snacks.. put lemon in my water... and I drink uva tea... by the end of this month i will have my blood chemistry check up.. hope it will be normalize now.. and by october i will have my ultra souns again to check if mild fatty liver already reverse.
How can this video claim that - for example - peanut butter is a good source of choline, when based on your own numbers an average woman might need to eat 80 tablespoons per day to meet choline requirements??
*Frick my comment got reloaded* Well to cut it short of all the vegans/vegetarians I didn't know before hand were on said diets. There was always a "off" feeling about them. In one case (i didn't even know them, just stumbled upon one of their videos) and 15-30 mins in. I said to myself, are they vegans/vegetarians. I can feel something "off" about them, didnt know why. 🤔 At the end of the video they offhandedly mention that they were vegetarian. 🤯 Make of that what you will. Something is not as it seems. 🧐
Please consider it is difficult to get the nutrients you need on a vegan diet. Choline in meat prevents dementia. Vegan sources have very little choline content. Please do your own research. 😊
Ive been worried about choline recently due to what has been in the media recently, so this was very useful! I have a small youtube channel where I post videos about veganism and ethical living if anyone would like to check it out!!
I amazing vegetarian but heading back to vegan but try to put protein in my diet eggs not enough olive all good 👍🍒👍can not give up that chicken 🐔😅😂 but can dowith out it ❤️ food have always suggested with weight but ❤️🍨👍😁🤓🤓🙏

GREAT INFO, really needed to know. Thank You Amazing Channel LIVEKINDLY. I don't take supplements, I am going very good with Plant-based Diet and with vegan channels every day I know better how to be healthier and why, through natural food Plant-Based, the vitamin 12 I take it from the tap water, anyway I cannot keep water because house companies here poison it when I keep it for later.
Sunflower lecithin in liquid form is great on salads, also available in capsules, highest source of Choline. There is soy Lecithin too but it's from GMO soy unless labeled as USDA Organic soy.
It's so amazing when one finally finds joy in achieving something that's so important to human ,Dr Aluda you truly God sent, The herbs you sent to me work like magic am healthy now💖💖
Whoever is behind this should not be making videos about health, because apparently they don't have a 3rd grade understanding of math. After filling the video with stock footage, they claim you don't need a supplement then say you can eat peanut butter sandwiches and get 11mg of choline. Tiny problem: you need 500 per day. So thanks for coming to get your brain and liver saving health advice, and have fun eating 50 peanut butter sandwiches a day. (Authors: please see Hippocrates' 1st commandment: do no harm.)
