We define CODON is a 3 base sequence of nitrogenous bases in a row on mRNA and we know the mRNA is single stranded molecule of polynucleotides containing Adenine , Guanine , Cytosine and Uracil.So we define codon is a 3 base sequence of any of the above nucleotides.
Similarly we say ANTI codon is a 3 base sequence of nitrogenous bases but it is on tRNA at a specific loop called ANTI codon loop and tRNA has not only A T G U but it has also Pseudo bases which don’t account for Anti codon sequences.

i still have question that when mRNA goes to bind with ribosome what gives the signal to tRNA to go and bind with it in riobosome . how does tRNA get information from nucles . there must be some mechanism through which tRNA get activated and bring specific amino acid to ribosome . plz answer
@learnenglishwithridwan
@learnenglishwithridwan 3 года назад
remember there are free amino acids in the cytosol of a cell, each amino acid is bound to a specific type of tRNA (i.e. on the three prime end of the tRNA molecule) using the enzyme aminoacyl tRNA synthetase. since there are 20 amino acids in the cytosol, it means twenty(20) different synthetases are involved in attaching amino acids to specific types of tRNA. The synthetases are thus equal in importance to the tRNAs in the decoding process, because it is the combined action of the synthetases and tRNAs that allows each codon in the mRNA molecule to specify its proper amino acid there are also three sites on the ribosome(E,P and A sites). when the anticodons of a tRNA matches the codons on the mRNA. the A site on the ribosome is what attaches the tRNAs anticodons to the mRNA codons. The mechanism is referred to as translation.... I don't have much time to type but I hope this helps out. thank you!!!

Hej. But which factor determine or judge on which aminoacyl tRNA combination will enter ribosome to cope with mRNA codone?
@hussainbiology
@hussainbiology 5 лет назад
mRNA displays Codon : then tRNA with the anti codon scans where to binds and attaches amino acid..... CGG- mRNA Codon Then charged tRNA with GCC anti codon matches it AND PAIRS with it and attaches amino acid.
@shkokurda2098
@shkokurda2098 5 лет назад
Dr. Hussein i mean outside the ribosomal units. Which determine which a.a bind to tRNA and enter the ribosome
@hussainbiology
@hussainbiology 5 лет назад
See , there are already made charged tRNAs in the cell. Suppose UAC is the anticodon present on tRNA , then the specific aatRNA sythetase for this tRNA will come and attach the METHIONINE for it...(Bcz for anti codon UAC we will have anticodon AUG which codes for Methionine , so the sythetase enzyme will bind Methione on tRNA ....now when mRNA displays the CODON AUG the charged tRNA having anticodon UAC will come and bind ....And will eventually add Methionine in the chain.... For every 20 amino acids we have specific 20 amino acid tRNA synthetases......

@@hussainbiology Why can't the simplest living cell be duplicated in a laboratory from chemicals? Even having a working model that supposedly originated in a warm little pond, primordial soup or volcanic vent etc;? How can you be so confident in the minimal number of proteins assembled themselves in a natural environment. There's at least 50 separate proteins in a ribosome and 2 RNAs and ribosomes are what assembles amino acids into proteins right? And what's the deal on, and how are only left handed amino acids used? Are they picked out of a racemic supply of or made left handed? The left handedness thing boggles my mind..
