The lady is facing difficulty in defining id, ego and superego. In reality these are totally different things in human. 1. Kids actions are based on ID as the ID is stronger in them. Kids cry when they don't get anything they want 2. Young people mostly operate on basis of ego. Young people become aggressive emotional due to strong ego. 3. Superego also thinks about society. The mature people activate the superego. They let things go and go beyond daily transactions and human level garages. SANDEEP SIR IS Right ID turns into ego.. Ego turns into superago.. Very few people reach to superego.

It also validates the roots of Indian philosophy in a way that a conversational mode of imparting wisdom (such as in Gita, Shiv Puran, Buddhism) is more effective way than commandment-based or rule-based. Thank you. I have two questions for Sandeep Maheshwari: 1. How this information can be brought into parenting a child? How we can make a child not go into the exercise of strengthening the ego or willpower, instead learn to live from common sense/intelligence, what can be done for it. 2. Sandeep said that the thoughts arise from biological impulses and they are enough to take action; we do not need a separate thinker to decide on what to do. It may also happen that some biological impulses are the result of thinking patterns of the past. For example, my past habits of drinking coffee/or alcohol/weed have now created a biological impulse to have it again, or excessive indulgence in sex or porn has created impulses in the body to regenerate the same experiences. When we clearly know these are not biological, but self-made, then it creates a controller(ego) to act upon them. How to deal with it?

It's really mind-blowing to know that the 'you thinking about thought' is actually 'thought in disguise thinking about thought', subconscious is trying to accommodate subconscious. One who understood evolution can understand this much better. It's totally out of control. The conscious-self turns out to be just an illusion created most probably due to the emergence of language/communication--like 'me' 'you'. It's like the self is just a manifestation of biology itself. It's related to free-will; but still for the sake of harmony in society we need to be responsible. Like criminal needs to be imprisoned though deeply it's never a deliberate act

Sir autopilot is like an habit. Once we made the habit we don’t have to bring willpower. Things will automatically run. Conflict is here - example I decided I have to do gym and the reason is strong for my health but to bring in that habit. I have to use willpower for few days then it will become an habit “auto pilot”. Second is if I have to take decision and the decision has to be about just yes or no “ And I’m clear about that decision. Then there I don’t have to use willpower but being stick with that decision conflict will occur somewhere and I have to convince my mind at that point to staying stick with that decision. In some case if we have to bring on autopilot then we have to create an habit. It means on verbally decisions we don’t have to use willpower if we r clear but in psychical task if we have to bring in autopilot we have to use till it becomes a habit.

As stated in Brahma-samhita: vedeshu durlabham adurlabham atma-bhaktauvedeshu durlabham adurlabham atma-bhaktau [Bs. 5.33]. This indicates that it is very difficult for one to attain the ultimate goal of life and reach the supreme destination, Vaikunthaloka or Goloka Vrindavana, simply by studying Vedanta philosophy or Vedic literature. However, this highest perfectional stage can be attained by the devotees very easily. That is the meaning of vedeshu durlabham adurlabham atma-bhaktau [Bs. 5.33]. The same point is confirmed by Lord Siva in this verse. The Lord is very difficult for the karma-yogis, jnana-yogis and dhyana-yogis to attain. Those who are bhakti-yogis, however, have no difficulty at all. In the word svarajyasya, svar refers to Svargaloka, the heavenly planet, and svarajya refers to the ruler of the heavenly planet, Indra. Generally, karmis desire elevation to heavenly planets, but King Indra desires to become perfect in bhakti-yoga. Those who identify themselves as aham brahmasmi ("I am the Supreme Brahman, one with the Absolute Truth") also ultimately desire to attain perfect liberation in the Vaikuntha planets or Goloka Vrindavana. In Bhagavad-gita (18.55) it is said: bhaktya mam abhijanati yavan yas casmi tattvatah tato mam tattvato jnatva visate tad-anantaram "One can understand the Supreme Personality as He is only by devotional service. And when one is in full consciousness of the Supreme Lord by such devotion, he can enter into the kingdom of God." Thus if one desires to enter into the spiritual world, he must try to understand the Supreme Personality of Godhead by practicing bhakti-yoga. Simply by practicing bhakti-yoga one can understand the Supreme Lord in truth, but without such understanding, one cannot enter the spiritual kingdom. One may be elevated to the heavenly planets or may realize himself as Brahman (aham brahmasmi), but that is not the end of realization. One must realize the position of the Supreme Personality of Godhead by bhakti-yoga; then real perfection of life is attained.

As a psychiatrist , I would like to give one example ID - I want to take Substance ( Alcohol , weeds) always SUPER EGO - Family and society asking me not to take EGO - I won't take alcohol/ weed or will take with close friends , Not in front of Society

I have a question for sandeep sir that is very interesting and haven't been touched before. We are so resistant of letting people try things that we have not experienced ourselves. There is secret sense of jealousy and insecurity. How do we overcome this? How do we overcome our mentality of: "hamaray sath ye hua tha to agay bhi yhi hona chahye" or "Hum ne ye experience nhi kia to kisi aur ko bhi nhi krnay dena" And then we find different religious, cultural and intellectual reasons for it.
