Heri Moshi A good mix of the two, then! A lot of FMs stick to one or the other throughout their career, though I think it’s possible to get experience of both - it can lead to more empathy and better working relationships with clients/suppliers

Our organization's core business is manufacturing. We have an in house facility maintenance team of 10 salaried and roughly 60 hourly personnel. Services provided in house are fire and physical security, equipment maintenance (machine tooling), facility maintenance (infrastructure), power house (steam production for heating and processes, and electrical distribution), and waste water treatment. Outsourced services are janitorial, food vending, uniforms, major infrastructure repairs and inspections. My curiosity for the industry, are new considerations in the design of ventilation systems being considered in the fallout of COVID-19? What new technologies are being considered effective?

A lot depends on how the company breaks it down, but A facility engineer would be more in charge of the mechanical systems of a building such as HVAC, Potable water, storm water management, etc. While a facility manager would also look at cleaning services.
