Did you watch this video about Salary in TCS? You should watch it if you have not. You see, in this video, I mentioned that TCS is going to double the salary. I also said that other software companies are following the suit. Well in yesterday's news, I found that Infosys also made this announcement. And Tech Mahindra is also following up on this closely. So if you are a software engineer and you upskill to the latest advanced technologies then you have a chance of doubling your salaries immediately. It may take about a month or a year to upgrade yourself, but it will be worth it. If you are already working in these companies then find out if there are programs in your company where you can go and upgrade yourself, that will be even better for you. Hope you can take advantage. Best of Luck.
That's true. At present, I am focusing more on progress than perfection. Lets see how this shapes up. The idea of this channel is to help others with my experience and what ever I have learned from my journey.

Hi Amit Patel I m 2014 batch pass-out I hv 1.5year support engineer experience and right now I m on training period on spring framework in java technology in software company it is not software company ...what should I do ? Should I start machine learning ?
Java is a programming language, and machine learning is a framework - the way to write certain types of application. So it does not matter what programming languages you are learning. To get an edge in your career, you can do machine learning. You should first understand what machine learning is and whether you have any interest. Best of luck.
Hello Sir, I work in TCS as SAP ABAP consultant. I would like to know that if I will learn Machine Learning and will not able to implement in the project or will not get the opportunity to work in machine learning in my current project then one day I'll forget Machine learning and will learn the Same technology in which I am working. How to deal with this situation?
Hey Sandip, At present there is a huge requirement for AI & ML engineers. And there are less number of engineers in this technology. So the demand is more and supply is less. Once you learn these technologies you can easily get placed in those projects. You will have to inform your company and your placement incharge within your company. Otherwise once you learn these technologies you can also try in other companies where there is a requirement. About forgetting the technology. Learn in a way that even if you forget the coding you remember the principles of the technology. And that you can brush up your knowledge as opportunity knocks at your door. I believe that there is a lot of requirement and finding projects or jobs wont be a problem.
Mr.Amit Patel, the way you explain the things are very simple and very catching to the young engineers , who really set of goal in their carrier. Am an Automation engineer with 30+ of years experience and worked around the globe. Now my son just joined TCS and his training ILP has started at Trivendrum, Kerala . TCS offered IOT Domain , once he complete his ILP - Initial Learning Program. He has completed Python basic coarse, as you mentioned in your video AI/ML/BG are the future world, could yi
Thank you for your kind words Janardan. Did you have a question that got cut for some reason? If yes then let me know I will try to answer it. Regards, Amit
I tried TCS once in Indore, but from 3 bitter experience from other people as well and including me, I can say they are worst professional company ever I heard and saw.
I think everyones experience can be different. This can happen in any company. Some environments work for you other don't. You might find that you go to a company that others are not talking great about but you find it good for your growth. That happens always. The important thing is to take action - leave the company - instead of regretting your decision every day. I believe that finding a good company is a job in itself. Keep searching till you get one. Once you get the company you love to work at leave only at retirement.
Sir your video is realy helpful but please make a video that how a fresher student in college started with it ... Please make a video on this topics that s why thousand of student thankful to you...
What is the percentage criteria? Are you talking about your marks in college? Not sure about that. For a web designer, they should look at your design skills and if you have any certificates in that department. The best way to find out is to find a reference in the company. Then see if they can get you in touch with someone in the design team. That way you will find a shortcut to the interview stage if you have the potential for design.
Nice video and well guidance offered to engineers Well as myself is not from this background but from sales, would like to hear from you as to which books to read to be a best sales person which in turn will change me into a good businessman
If you have questions about salary raise or increase within the same company then watch this video ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-zku1Cvh_SBE.html. In this video I talk about two factors you can control that will give you salary raise year on year.
@@ravibhushan007 Yes this applies to anyone. Skills are important. Yes engineers and bca graduates are treated differently because both have different education path, but a BCA graduate who focuses on skills like AI and ML will benefit more than the ones who do not focus on this skill.
@@MusingsbyAmitSir I recently accepted my offer letter from TCS under Smart hiring process, they said we will be given training on AI . should I do other technology courses like big data and machine learning from outside ?
@@ravibhushan007 Training on AI should also include Big Data and ML. These technologies go hand in hand. But if you can develop your skills even before you join. You will be ahead of the curve. So use your time and learn these skills if you have time.
Sir, like you said, I checked for machine learning courses on coursera but there are a number of courses. Which one would you suggest? (I know python language too)
Check the ML foundation course in this article amitpatels.com/artificial-intelligence-machine-learning-double-your-income/ In case you want deep learning then check the deep learning course on the same page. Both the courses mentioned are the best courses, and the best institutes offer these. If you work hard and also do the assignments, then you can also apply for a certificate.

Yes because they want these engineers to start working on projects. There is a huge demand for AI and ML engineers across the world. Companies that cannot find resources come to outsourcing companies like TCS.
@@ArvindYadav-gw8ws TCS is a Services Company so it will have various different types of projects where IT is required. Most projects will require building of Software Application to Manage, Analyse and Report data. It will have various verticals like Retail, Banking, Finance, MICE etc. And then there are various horizontals that are the technologies used. Like .Net or Java or LAMP or React etc. It is a huge company and most services companies are built on similar model. You can find something interesting to do within a company because there will be so many different opportunities.

I am 2018 passed out I have got a job on SQL I want to make a jump on future technologies. I know java but am planning to learn .net all of sudden python came into picture, sir can you please put a full stop should which language should I choose ?
If you want to learn future technologies then python is good because it has the what is required for those technologies. Since you are in SQL you can also focus on Big Data as your specialisation. One thing to understand is become programming language agnostic. Because they are only tools. Focus in what you want to do with those tools. So if you are clear on what you love to do then tools are not important. Focused study can easily help you learn the tools. Make yourself tools agnostic. And focus your energies on the big picture.
You will need an engineering degree to start in companies like TCS. I don't think they hire Polytechnic Students directly. Big Corporate companies have a requirement of B.E and M.E. You can go to their career pages and see what qualification is required.
Cloud computing has been around since 2010. I have heard about it since then. So though it is in demand and it is somewhat new, there is a lot of senior talent available in that technology. Compared to that AI and ML has very few talented engineers available. Hence the double salaries announcement was related to AI, ML, and BigData. But some cloud computing companies will still give a good salary to engineers with those skills. You can become the best in cloud computing, and then you also find companies that are focusing on this technology. You can double your salary that way.
Hello sir, i had done my engineering from mechanical engineering background so should i focus on my gate/ies exams or should i learn this artificial intelligence, machine learning and all. I want to go to foreign and earn from there itself in dollars and one thing that the coming future will be good for me to go to software industry or should i focus on my core industry. Tell me sir i am confused that will it be helpful for me for my future to get in software industry or not.
If you are from mechanical engineering and want to transition into software then start learning everything about IoT - Internet of Things. You will be able to use your mechanical engineering knowledge and IoT knowledge. IoT is another stream getting popular. In India lot of companies are currently working on IoT. Even abroad most of the manufacturing industries are investing heavily in IoT.
Salaries are not dependent on BCA or engineering. They depend on their skills. TCS now has an online training program called Xplore. They evaluate candidates based on that program and decide what salary to give.
Yes you can learn about these technologies at any stage of your career. These technologies have been around since 1950s but now they are being used in the best possible manner. At present there is a huge demand for engineers who can work on these technologies. And this will not go down soon. So yes even if it takes you a few months or even a year to master them you can easily not just get a double salary but the number of opportunities for you will increase. So do your best. I have shared some courses in the description look at them. You can also find other courses online.
You are welcome. I hope this helps you. You can check the link for learning the cognitive technologies I talked about in the video. You can also start by buying a book. As I said it does not matter if it takes you 1 month or 1 year to learn these new technologies they are here to stay - so when you learn - they will change your income and overall satisfaction at work.
For AI you need to know some programming language. Because it is a part of Programming. AI is a Paradigm. Just like Object Oriented Programming or Sequential Programming. So there are special languages for AI like LISP and Python but you need to know some programming language. In the course I have mentioned in the description - they are using Python. You can learn Python from Code Academy - and books. Don't sit at home. Do whatever you have to - to get a job. Check my video on Finding my First Job. You will see that I also struggled to get a job. But I did not sit at home. I kept trying and got it after 90 days after completing my engineering.
There are lot of companies holding walkins for freshers. Go and give the exam or interview or whatever is required. Ask your friends who already have a job how did they do it. If you are a Btech then you have to understand that you have to work to find a job. Go out and find a job.
Data Science, AI and ML is not just about programming. It is also about understanding the real world problems and articulating them so that we can find solutions for them with these technologies. Find some data scientists on Linked In and see what are their qualifications. That will give you some idea. I will let you know more as I find someone not from the science back ground working in these areas. It's an industry and within that industry you will find opportunity for your skills. The one thing you will need to do is that you learn how you can use your skills in this field.
The decision to join TCS should be purely made by you. No one can help you make that decision. If you are confused then you should try working for TCS so that you have your own experience and opinion. As far as growing in any company is concerned I have a video on this channel about Salary Increase - watch that video you will get ideas about growth. Remember that to grow start helping people. Your project manager, your colleagues, your fellow TCS employees. When you do that you will grow beyond your dreams.
Sir i am in first year & i have learnt basic python & i move ahead the data & ml by python on udemy. is udemy is good for learning.pls reply that i am in good track
You have to find out who is the expert speaking. Do some research on the person who has uploaded the training on Udemy. Based on that make your decision to follow. If you are into programming then you should look at pluralsight dot com. They have a lot of teachers who are very very experienced. I have also used their courses to train my own team on some of the software technologies.
Yes, I have only mentioned one course that I know is good. But there will be others you should do the one you are comfortable with. In the end you should get your AI and ML skills to a level that you are good, better or best in them. That is more important than which course you do to get there.
I am a fresher in tcs and from ece background so I dnt have much any coding knowledge. Is there possibility to learn those technologies without coding knowledge?plz suggest me sir
For AI and ML you need programming skills. For Data Science there are many different skills and in some you will not need any programming knowledge. My advice is that you learn Python. Python is easier to learn and is also the key language used in all these technologies.

Initially most companies will pay between 2 LPA to 3.5 LPA to most software engineers. As you start working your salary will get adjusted based on various factors. One factor is skills. But there are other factors like how you complete the projects, how you work with managers and colleagues or how handle clients and much more. There is no way anyone can guess how much salary they can get based on years of experience. You have to work for every level to go from one level of salary to another level of salary. So it is always a work in progress. But it is all in your hands. The better you work the better income you will get.
Every type of programming has a place in the world. If you think about it embedded C and microcontroller programming is used in many applications. So it is also a good profession to pursue. I believe we should pursue the path that we will enjoy every moment. So find out what companies are in this kind of devices and applications and work with them. The next stage though is IoT. You should see of you like IoT because that is the next big wave in technology.
First prove yourself in the current project. On the side keep improving your skills in AI and ML. If you are still not assigned a project then you let the placement team know about your knowledge of AI and ML. You might have to prove your potential with whatever process they have to identify your potential. If you are already on some project then you should talk to your project manager or delivery manager about your interest. Do not talk about salary. That you should do only during your appraisal interview. Above all have patience. That is important.

Did he join as a Software Engineer? It is highly unusual for TCS to hire someone at a salary that low. Unless the position and requirement is something different than a SW engineer. He should find out why his salary is so low?
Companies like TCS, Infosys, Wipro and the likes have vacancies throughout the year. Because there is a constant attrition in these companies. So you can find a job for all diverse fields. But the best way to find a job is try to find some reference within the company. Your friend or your relative or your friend's friend. When you go directly through a reference then your chance of getting a job increases four times more.
Sir I have attended TCS off campus drive in December 2018,i didn't got any mail regarding selection.1 week bqck my friend got rejection mail.how can i know about my selection sir.plese help sir
All big companies get thousands of applications. So when you don't get any response, it is safe to assume that your application has not moved forward. I would not wait for their response, instead I would keep trying to get a job in the area of my interest even with a small company.
Are you able to track your application on the TCS careers portal? I assume you have some reference or tracking number from the off-campus drive. You may also email to the careers email id on the careers.tcs.com portal
@@rajeshdasari4952 You can only hope that they will respond. Pls do send an email with all your details. Another possibility for your not getting any update is that they might have selected you and that they might have planned to offer you at a later point in time. If you want to learn this free, then you can start by finding books that will help you do that. In the description, I have shared an article about four courses that are the best for these technologies. These courses are not free. Because they are certifications, you will have to work hard and focused on completing them along with assignments. But you will have the opportunity of interacting with international professors and students. So if you get the certificate, then it will have a lot of value. The cost of certification is minuscule compared to what it will do for your career. Your income will change by 2x to 4x times if you learn these technologies.

Thank you for your information about present scenario of IT industry . I want to know the present demand of SAP Basis , where all MNC business running depends on SAP System since 1990 and will be run another 50 years because without ERP system very big business can't successfully run !! And SAP Basis is the skill for SAP System maintenance !!! What will do for the Candidates with knowledge of SAP Basis ?? Should learn again AI, ML etc. ??
Experienced engineers with knowledge of previous ERP and CRM systems should learn Data Science or Big Data. That will help them to give another boost to their career. You can also learn AI and ML only from an implementation perspective. That will also help.
Yes that requirement will remain. Technologies like SAP have a long life span because once installed these are not easy to be replaced. Lots of manufacturing companies still use SAP so I feel that there will be need of this for a long time to come. Even for freshers. But only thing is that the engineer should do this as per his capability and interest. That is more important for success.

Hi amit It was a Excellent content and was a career setting video from you. My request is I am 2 years exp in a IT support and I would like to change my career in to evolving technology which will change my life. I am average at coding and suggest me some steps to ramp a good knowledge and land in with a higher pay
IT is a very big field. It is not about knowing or not knowing to code. There are many areas within an IT company that does not need coding. You are in Support. You can even try to make your Job in Support work for you. About Higher Pay. Watch my video on Salary Increase on the same channel. In that, I have mentioned about strategy to increase your salary year on year. That strategy is applicable to any job or skills you have. One thing you have to remember is that your job is a marathon and not a sprint. You have to consistently perform. At some point, your salary will start increasing exponentially when you become a master in your area of expertise.
This is not about best or worst engineer. It is about someone who want to join TCS or companies like TCS. Every person can only join one job at a time. So there will be 1000s of engineers wanting to work at TCS. They have to prove that they are capable of joining TCS. I believe that your value is equivalent to the way you deliver your projects. So you have to take up some job to show your value at some point.
If I am a fresher, I will not worry too much about the salary I am getting but will surely think about the projects and technology that I get to work on. Rajesh, the best way to apply in any company is using some reference. Find out someone who is working in TCS who you can talk to. It can be your friend from college or a relative or a friends friend. Talk to them about opportunities in TCS. Forward your resume through such a person. In case you cannot find a friend then try to find a connection 2nd or 3rd level on LinkedIn. Talk to this person. Build a rapport. Then ask the person to introduce you to HR. That way your chances will increase by 80%. If none of the above works then you have to apply through regular channels and hope for the best.
If you know how to build applications, then you have scope in any software company - not just TCS. Once you are a good programmer, then you also need the communication skills to convince the other party so that they know you are a good programmer. Also, programming is a team sport. It is not an individual endeavor. If you are competitive, it can be a trouble.

The best chance you have is to learn programming from some good place that also has a certification. Like Microsoft had its own certification and many graduates used to complete that to start a career in the software industry. Is there a programming language you are interested in? Then I can guide you further in the right direction.
@@arnabghosh1604 That's good. If you are interested in ABAP, then you need to learn the basics of C and C++ programming. ABAP is more straightforward than coding in C or C++ because it is a framework language sitting on top of the core programming language. To become an active SAP consultant who can solve real-world manufacturing and finance problems, you need to learn ABAP, SQL and have domain knowledge in one area like Manufacturing or Finance etc. Find out the domains from SAP website and see which domain you have an understanding when working in BPO. So for SAP route that is your path.
@@arnabghosh1604 Java is different from ABAP. It is a general-purpose programming language like C# or C++ or Visual Basic. I will check to see if I can find a program that teaches the entire Full Stack Java in one single specialization. I hope this helps.
I would not know that. And by asking anyone the salary it will not help you. There are many factors about the job other than the salary. You should first find out if the job is for you. Hello Prakash, Any job depends on what you know with respect to the job. When you do B.Sc Computer Science remember that you are fighting for your position in front of B.Tech, B.E, M.Tech and M.E Engineers. So if there are two people in front of the hiring managers with everything same then a BE will be preferred over B.Sc Computer Science. Then how do you change this. You change this by focusing on a niche area within Computers. Pick one area that you want to really become kind of an expert. It can be anything, it can be programming or quality assurance or business analyst anything that you like and are passionate about. Let us say you want to do programming. Pick one area in Programming. Let us say web development. Within web development become more specific. Web Development with React. Then put in all efforts to learn everything and apply only for jobs that have Web Development with React. Don't Fix yourself to TCS. There are 100 more companies like TCS. There 1000 more middle level companies. There are Thousands of Small Software companies. Focus on your skillset more than which company you want to join. When you focus on skill set maybe an opening for that skillset opens up in TCS that time you can join TCS.
Sir i got selected in tcs through tcs ninja, can i get double salary? As i already got the offer letter of 3.36lpa is there any change to upgrade this package now?
You need to learn the technologies mentioned in the video. The double salary is for 1000 freshers who also know AI, ML and BigData. Watch the video and then read the article I have shared in the description.
Hello sir..i'm a 2019 B.Tech passout... I'm placed in TCS and i just got d joining letter...Sir can you plz tell me whether i can get a higher salary now..AFTER BEING PLACED??? also..if you have any info about the training programmes..can u plz tell us about that..? I got the mail which says there r 2 options for joining..JAN-MARCH or JUN-AUG..
The higher salary is offered only to candidates who are good in cognitive technologies like AI, ML and Big Data. Once you have an offer letter that you have already accepted you cannot negotiate your salary. No company would like that. You can find the training programs for Cognitive Technologies out here amitpatels.com/artificial-intelligence-machine-learning-double-your-income/ . Irrespective of your joining date you should pursue these technologies in case you are interested in making a mark in the software industry for the next 10+ years.
@@MusingsbyAmit xplore1 is a program for a period of jan-mar through which we have to learn new skills that they teach by spending 2hrs/day we have to learn the basics and after joining they will teach us the advanced topics in the domain. similarly xplore2(jun-aug, I think) teaches basics+ advanced skills in the same domain but he have to spend 8hrs/day.. So before joining we should complete either one to get the joining letter as soon as possible
@@myquotes1588 Thats good. Looks like orientation with programming included. So the focus would be to put in 100%.Because that will decide the next steps for you.
Hey Uma, Your situation is unfortunate. But you need to read replies to several question in comments where I have talked about, how you can get a raise? As per my experience every company has the same standards. If you don't find your company paying you well then you may have to enhance your capabilities by investing in more in improving your skills that your company needs. You will see that things will change as you make changes to your skills.
That's a tough question to answer. The thing I am talking about in this video is related to engineers and IT. If you are a programmer without being part of CS or IT or ECE then learning these technologies can certainly help you get into such companies. But if you are not from programming background then you have to find out if whatever skills you have, does TCS or other IT companies have a job for you. For eg. An accountant will still get a job as an accountant in TCS or a Business Development executive may be required for these company. So you need to look at your skills and think appropriately.
Sir thank for replying and u r doing a great job. Does the hire ECE students. Sir keep going on u r doing a great job. U were from which branch...all the best sir...
@@deepawali I am a Electronics Engineer of 1995 batch. After that I got into programming. Lot of engineers learn programming after college and join IT companies.
Nice video, it is not only AI, ML and DL, there are many other skills like cloud are also in demand... Also instead of showing your face, it would be better you show video or images about what you talk. It will invoke more attention than watching you ( I don't mean you are not looking good. It is just a suggestion)
Balaji thank you for your kind words. I am just sharing what I know that will be useful to you and others who watch this channel. So it's in easy production mode at present. As the channel grows, I will see if I can hire a good editorial team who can do this. For me it is more important to help people with what I know rather than how good my video is perceived. Thanks for your suggestion.
You should knoe one full stack in Java. Also knowing and doing is different. Can you build a complete application from scratch? Do you know server side coding? Client side coding? Backend. Frontend. Handling Data etc. Instead of learning the next thing. Start building real world applications. Even if the applications are simple and have no real use. Because that is what will make you a better engineer.
You know Java, but are you a full stack developer like mentioned in this video ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-QdtYI_-ieaU.html. If you are then you are qualified for a high paying job in the software industry.
Sorry Seshadri, I missed this comment. I am not sure whether Open Degree is eligible or not. Because TCS hires from the premium institutes. Sometimes even Private colleges from the same University do not get a Job in TCS. The thing is a lot of candidates apply to TCS so it becomes difficult for them to decide. So first they decide on College or University then on Marks then on their own tests.
