Informative but the last bit I have to be honest was a bit cringe. Almost like a line we would have heard from a press conference. Really thanks for this video.
Oh yeah, I got a lot of feed back about that part, It was pretty mixed feedback though. Like some told me to remove it and some actually thought it be best to have it. So I just left it since I like to be cheesy at times lol Thanks for your feed back though! I'll try to make my future content less cringy.
As someone who is going to buy a Gundam Versus game for the first time your video is very informative well made. Even though I found the last bit to be cringe it didn't diminish what the rest of the video done. Just make it however you want I might not always comment but you gained a viewer.
Thanks a lot! But I do love hearing peoples feed backs, so feel free to speak your mind if you ever wish too. I actually do take everyone's feed back into consideration. But like you said, the last decision is mine to make. However I do want to be clear, even if I don't do it a certain way that people want me to approach it, doesn't mean I don't try to listen.
As someone whose first Gundam VS game will be this one, thank you! I feel much more informed/prepared for starting than I did earlier, keep up the good work!
No problem and you are welcome. I am always relieved to hear that this has helped many players out. I'll do my best in continuing to produce more content like this in hopes of helping more players understand the game better!
This intro is the best I have seen. It is thorough, clear and new comer friendly. I even consider it is much better than official bandai marketing video. Thanks
What's the song you used at the start btw? More specifically, what's the name of the song you used from Gundam Extreme Vs Maxi Boost ON that was from the character select screen?
Most informative video yet! Been meaning to get into the Versus community for awhile and I'm happy that I'll finally be able to! I have a question though: Do you believe it's worth importing the Japanese G-premium sound edition? And do you think the Japanese version will play on different servers compared to the western release?
I'm extremely pleased to hear that the video was informative for you! To answer your question, that is really all up to you, that is if you want to hop into the "Gundam Versus" scene early or wait for the "Western" release. Also from what I was told (This is not confirmed information so don't take this seriously) that the "G-Premium" is like an "All Season Pass" that gives you access to more then just "Lupus" as a "DLC" character. To answer your other question the game has a feature to play on "World Servers" allowing the game to be compatible with other regions. Keep in mind that each version may or may not contain region exclusive servers. Meaning if you own a "Japanese" version, everything might be "Japanese" only, until you decide to join the "World Servers." Another thing is that the other players also need to choose to play on the "World Servers" in order for you to play or even see them online. You might want to wait for the "Western" version encase none of the "English" player's public rooms will be held under the "World Servers" options. However there will be many "English" players that will be owning the "JP version" of this game, including myself as well, so you won't be alone jumping in early if you decide too. Another thing to add, the "Asia" version of this game has all the menus and text completely in "English." If you don't want to navigate through "Japanese" menus then you might want to consider the "Asia" version of the game instead. Hope that info helps you out!
Thank you so much for the helpful information! The G-Premium edition is definitely a must buy then, especially for the Op's/ED'S which are included from the Gundam series! Two more questions, if that's fine with you: 1: Do you have a link for the "Asia" version? (if it's even been announced yet that is haha) 2: And does the Asia region (not Japanese) usually sell the G-Premium sound editions? Bonus question: Since I just bought my PS4 yesterday with no games or Playstation plus yet I obviously don't have any particular use for it yet. However, would you mind sharing your handle name for when the game comes out so that we mayhaps could play sometime? Thank you once again! Have a nice day :)
From my own research, the "Asia" version doesn't appear to have a "Premium G Edition" and if you are still interested in picking up the "Asia" version or "Premium G Edition" the only store that comes to mind is "Play Asia" or "AmiAmi." Also my name on PSN is Tryflozn (For English) and Tryfiozn (For Japanese)
Dam gets me more excited for this to be my first Gundam game not only for the Gundam vs series, but Gundam in general. Really glad I'm putting money in this instead of MVCI for now.
I skimmed through a lot of the basics too, since I was afraid the information may just go pass a lot of new player's heads if I tried to cover every little thing while trying my best to keep it as short as I can. This game is as complex as any fighting game and I am already making another video going more in depth with some of the other mechanics that I didn't talk about within this video.
Well.... I dont a single question about the game lol. Amazingly detailed and well paced video. As a new player to gundam VS type games its a perfect intro video.
Last game I played like this was actually Federation Vs Zeon on the PS2. I loved the story mode and I loved battling against my friends. Im picking up a PS4 for this game and Final Fantasy 14 Stormblood. I definitely feel like it'll be worth the buy. Thanks for the info on this! It works like i imagined it to.
You are welcome and I am really relieved that the information was clear enough for you to understand. I hope you will end up enjoying the new game as much as I have so far!
Im a huge fan of Gundam in general so I know this will be my thing for sure. Im excited to see the full roster of gundams available so I can plan on mastering my favorites.
The roster can be viewed here: g-versus.ggame.jp/ms_stage/ms/ Keep in mind that this is just all the MS that come with the game at launch. This list does not include all the DLCs we are getting in the future. Barbatos Lupus is our 1st DLC character and there are many more coming.
Cool, thanks for the info. My brother just got the game yesterday. I've played fighting games for decades. Also enjoyed the Gundam Dynasty Warriors games. Looking forward to seeing this game.
Thank you for explaining the Boost gear system. Couldn't find a single dam explanation for what they did before. 2:43 No kidding?! Always assumed that was just happened for high tier suits when their life points were low.
No problem bro! Glad to hear that the video is helping people out and I am planning to talk about the "Over Cost" more in depth in another video, since I just kind of skimmed through the mechanics in this video to keep the information from being too overwhelming to newer players that are just entering the game now.
If you want you can try it now for free if you like. The game currently has a "Trial" version going on for this whole month. But it requires you to download it off of the Japaneses PSN Store via a Japanese PSN account which takes about 5 minutes to create and it's free to do. It also is only playable when the servers are up, which are only on Thursdays and Saturdays during 9+UTC which should be 9:00pm Japan's time. The servers are only up for 1 hour each session though. However the game does not require PSN+ to use any of it's online functionality until the full release of the game on July 6th for Japan and Asia.
José Xavier Fornell yep told many people years ago that this would be the game to make me buy a PlayStation and they have finally made it for the states

I love it so it's like the early ps2 gundam games federation vs zeon.. all gundam games need to take tips from those games.. crossfire for the ps3 had so much potential but it was a failure even though I do play it still from time to time to get my gundam fix.. I'm hoping that this is the start of new gundam games in the future cuz we need more gundam!! - zeig zeon
I was lucky to play it for free online over the weekend (without PSN subscription) before its initial launch. It was awesome! 1v1 and 2v2 were smooth but anything beyond those were laggy and often disconnections. But it's all for free so no complain
I never really was interested in the versus series, but after this, I really want the game now and am probably gonna get it as soon as it comes out! Will there be a NA release? Or will I have to import it?
There will be an NA and EU release coming in Fall 2017. That is all that Bandai Namco has mentioned thus far. Maybe this E3 they might give us an accurate release date, but who know if they will even be there or not. If any news surfaces about the release dates for the English version of the game, I'll try my best to let everyone know.
I'll see what I can do. I'll definitely be interested to do a video about Neutral, just not anytime soon since I need to go in depth with a few other mechanics 1st.
@Tryflozn Versus Thank you so much for making this video, I've got a movement going to spread awareness of the Versus series and this video would be perfect to link to it. Might I have your permission to use this video?
You are free to share the video as you please. The whole point of the video, just like I mentioned at the end, was to increase the player base! So that would be amazing, if you can share it. Just keep in mind not to re-upload this video to another RU-vid channel and make sure to link the credit back to the original source when applicable to avoid miss crediting. Other then that, Good luck on your goal as we seems to be striving for the same thing!
The game can get complicated if you want to be competitive with it. This video only talked about the core basics and only scratching the surface of the gameplay of what's to come. However the game also can be played pretty casually with just the basics in mind. Understanding what I said in this video should allow you to be able to clear the game successfully just with that knowledge alone. But if we were to talk about PvP that would be a whole other topic to talk about on it's own.
Definitely looking forward to returning to the series, since the only one I was able to play was Federation vs. Zeon and it still one of my top PS2 games
I hope you will end up enjoying the new installment and much has changed since Federation vs Zeon. I was watching some other player that played it on Twitch not to long ago and it made me appreciate a lot more to everything that they have done to the newest installment.
This just made me more curious about the game! I think I'll give it a shot. Does it require a certain region PSN account or is this game released for United States?? I've seen preorders here and there.
The account I believe doesn't matter, but in order to get the digital copy of the game currently at the state it is now, it will require a "Japanese PSN" account in order to access it. The game will be released for Japan and Asia on "July 6th" so you can get a physical copy of the game then. The Game will also have a" world release" meaning it will release to NA and EU in the "fall of 2017." The pre-order for the NA version is already up on "Amazon" for a physical copy if you are interested: tinyurl.com/mutef98
I'll probably try for the physical preorder most likely. I'd love to see a competitive community for this game. I'd honestly like to see tournaments for it to see how they unfold.
For the English community, you might be interested to tune into "Evolution Championship Series" also known as "Evo" for short. From what I was told "Gundam Versus" will be hosted there this year, replacing "Gundam Extreme Vs. Full Boost" which usually is the one present for that tournament scene. Last year at "Evo" for "Full Boost" some of the top players from Japan participated in the tournament brackets along side "Kana Ueda" the voice actress of "Rin Tohsaka" from Fate/Stay Night. There is usually at least 1 tournament every year over in "North America" for the newest "Gundam Vs" game.
I definitely know about EVO. I follow the Smash Bros. scene somewhat devoutly. Was Full Boost ever livestreamed? I never even knew EVO offered that as a game! I usually only see Smash, Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat, Guilty Gear and so on.
Before the open Trial was public for people to play, mine and few other players I knew, wasn't able to make our PS3 fight sticks work. However during this month when the Trial was open to the public to play, it appears they have updated the legacy support to be able to read our fights sticks now. So I assume by the full release of the game, the legacy support should support most or all PS3 fight sticks by that time.
Yeah, I guess I am. I told everyone if this gets a North American release then I'll come back to the game! Guess the time has finally come for me to return.
I am relatively salty that no suits from Gundam X, 0080, 00 season 2, and Build fighters, but that's probably just becasue I REALLY like the Zaku Amazing and the Gundam Zabanya
There is a "Build Fighter" character already in the game. You get him as a Pre-Order Bonus, which is "BN-876β Hot Scramble Gundam" piloted by "Tatsuya Yuuki" who is also known as "Meijin Kawaguchi III" which you can check out his info here: g-versus.ggame.jp/spec/reservation.php There are already word that "Bandai Namco" is working on "00 Gundam" and changing the design of it, making it permanently in "O-Raiser" baring many similarities to the "Gundam vs Gundam: Next" counter part of it. So I'm pretty sure this means "00 season 2" is basically confirmed to be in the game, just not at launch. A theory that me and my buddy Skyslam_vs came up with, is that they are holding back characters that can deal mass amount of damage by range attacks in just mere seconds as a later release, to allow new players to ease into the game first. Most characters that can achieve this are the ones from "Gundam X." They are probably also holding back tricky characters like the ones from "0080" for a later time as well. Most likely because they are afraid that players will get discouraged really quickly playing against those characters at an early stage. I believe for new players, if they don't know how to deal with those types of characters, they will be discouraged to continue playing. Which I have seen this happen in the past, during my "Full Boost" days. Also I believe that the game will have the complete roster of "Maxi Boost On" eventually. As they seem to be purposely holding back certain characters as DLC content.
>Build Fighters Yeah I know Hot Scramble is in the game, but I try to ignore it because I absolutely despise it's design >00 S2 Yey, 00 Raiser is nice >0080 I think I'ts a massive waste to not have the Alex and Kampfer in game at launch if only so it's there for the vets
Not sure what you mean by "base game," can you possibly expand on this question further for me to answer it more properly? A little note though, I myself have yet to play "Maxi Boot On" since the side of the world I live on, doesn't offer this game.
Yes the newest installment from the "Gundam Vs" Series is coming to the west this time around, as well as "Bandai Namco" has interest of it to enter the "E-Sport" scene.
The AI can still be dumb at times. However to compensate the stupidity of the AI, they did reduce the cost of the AI controlled character by half. There is also a command to control the AI if you need them to survive. Which is a command to tell them to only defend and to avoid engaging in combat. Many players like myself usually set that command in game to make sure they don't ever die. This command usually almost guarantees the AI's survivability pretty much up to 99% with a 1% chance of dieing from a stray shot. This command is set in real time during combat with the communication button and can be switched at anytime during combat to any other commands like to the Focus Firing command.
thanks for showing alot of wing and 00 suits in the video, there my two favorite series.i really hope PSN will release this to the western side even if just by DD like reborn got because i want to be be able to play dynames or deathsythe hell :'(
The game is being released in English for NA, EU and the rest of the world in Fall 2017. If you want to know more about Gundam Versus information, like maybe the specific date, you might want to tune into E3 as I believe there might be more information about the western release there.
sweet.sadly it probably wont be dubbed but i can wait to be able to buy this for my ps4.i just finally was able to save up enough to get one and im tired of borrowing games from my library so this will be the first one for my new ps4 and btw is your channel pic of zack fair from FFVII? cause it looks like it and he my favorite form FF period
Not sure If I didnt hear if you mentioned anything about Single Player. Not online vs another player. Actual Single Player If not, then I must’ve figured out that on my own.
I wanted to buy this since I've seen the announcement and played the beta but I'm still stuck playing extreme versus since this one won't get any cheaper where I live. Also, why are the DLC's so expensive??
Gundam SEED Rengou vs Zaft is my most favorite game on the PS2, I spent countless hours on it. Sadly I don't have any PS4 to join the Versus... Why don't they make them for PC...
Been hearing that a lot from many other comments and I understand that it is pretty valued among you guys. But I think the era of split screen might truly be over if Bandai Namco does exactly how I predict the outcome will be for this newest installment. Which I believe this game will probably get a steam release in the far future. However I do not know if the game would be cross platform compatible, but it would solve a lot of issues with this split screen demand, since the game at that point can be accessed by nearly anyone that has access to a gaming type PC. Since most of the time I hear people just wanting to play with there friends that don't own a PS4. Which I am in the same boat with all of you, since I do have friends that don't own a PS4 as well and they would love to play this game with me too.
I don't think it will be necessary because the "Asia" version of the game is completely in English to begin with and the "Asia" and "Japan" release dates are on the same day, making them both release on July 6th. Also to add both "Asia" and "Japan" versions of the game can play with each other, so there is no reason not to get the "Asia" version, if you want to be able to read the menus. However, unless I stumble upon someone else that is already doing a menu guides, I'll probably just promote them to everyone instead! Since I myself mainly just want to focus on the basics of the game.
I couldnt find any info about SEA version releasing on the same day as Japanese release, could you give me a link confirming this please? Thank you in advance.
Nah, if that was the case, it wouldn't be top 3 best arcade games in Japan topping Street Fighter 4 multiple times in the rankings back in 2010 onward and most of the time falling slightly short to take Tekken's ranking spot in Japan. This game is extremely popular over on the East side of the world as a competitive game.
There is currently no official release date other then Bandai Namco stated that it's being released for NA and EU in Fall 2017. If you are referring to the date on Amazon, that date is temporary, as they do that for all unannounced release dates for any game. It also appears that any menus related to English is being held back for now as well. I assume this has something to do with the release date revolving around NA and EU, as there was suppose to be a copy of the game with the menus entirely in English for Asia version of this game, but even that version has an unknown release date.
No worries! I'm here to help clear things up as much as I can to the western audience! Since I love this game and I think everyone should at least try it once.
Hard to say at this current time as the full game is still unreleased. Probably by July 6th I might be able to answer this question, as I believe not all the information about single player has been released yet.
cool, thanks for the reply! I sent this video to my friends that are interested but have no history with Gundam, it does a great job of explaining what is going on in the game.
Yo no worries! Also even though you don't have a history with Gundam, I'd say it still would be a great opportunity for you to dive into this game. As the battle system is pretty unique and definitely should be given a try before further judging. I'm even trying my best to get people that aren't into mecha to at least give the game a shot. As I really believe the game play is what truly sells the VS series and not actually the Gundams for this specific franchise, unlike other Gundam games.
You are asking the wrong person, as I have no interest in the Dynasty Warrior Gundam games and I do not follow any other Gundam game other then the Vs series Gundam games.
Is there a mode like the dynasty gundam games like a story / campaign? Not really into this only the story /campaigns... if not has there been a game released for the PS4 that has that type of gameplay. Never liked the whole team thing with life points in any of the other games? Please help
I dunno, I'm actually not interested in Gundam games other than this specific one. Why not try and ask someone else that is a big Gundam Fan for that information. I have seen Gundam Battle Operation Next, but have never played it, maybe that might be more your thing.
I believe Gundam Extreme Vs Force has some of the mechanics you are mentioning. The only thing there missing is the Open World feature that you are requesting but everything else is present from what I am aware.
F91 is now a 400 cost unit, making it the 2nd most expansive unit type, but it's apparently 400 for good reasons. As it's been improved compared to his counterpart from the "Extreme Vs" series.
So im still confused. After scrolling through two EULAs the game just starts. No menu or anything. Not even a button guide. The battle just never ends because the same two enemies keep spawning. No menu to enter into or anything of that sort. Just....constant and repetitive fighting
I believe that means your game has yet to fully install on your system and you are playing a demo mock battle until the entire game has finished installing.
