I'm glad that DDE is at the Compton location. Ken's sprit will live on via Dave and Damon. The wheelpro people are wearing the Hoonigan brand like a skinsuit.

The truth is Hoonigan was Ken. The raw talent The cars The craziness. That was Hoonigan. Now that his is no longer with us, the brand lost its core image. So now they are all doing their own show trying to be the image that pops into you when you think of their brand.

It's sad about losing the yard, but at least another car centric channel has it now

Think what drew me to Hoonigan was the guys all had a way of connecting the car world, which isn't easy, most people into cars are in dead set camps so to build something that appeals to everyone and the way they were as a team, friends and basically family was awesome, honestly gutted it's done as it was but will definitely follow all the guys

Its also because their friend owned it. They wouldn't have to hit a time clock, leave early, long lunches, etc. Once it was bought out, all that stopped.

Hooniigan is dead, wheelpros ruined it and Ken passing was the nail in their coffin. AT least DDE took over the "burn yard" now "The Block" named after Ken and I know DDE will do good with the building and the memory of Ken. DDE is becoming the new Hoonigan IMO.

I basically don't think of Hoonigan without Ken. If I see a video with anything Hoonigan I kind of assume it's old...

As someone who has watched Hoonigan from day one, I think you guys hit it on the head. Watching the guys leave sucks, and it does make you feel a certain way about it. Then you bring these new people in and they could be solid but they are not "Hoonigan". Its been so long that those main guys to many of us are Hoonigan, and its not a brand to us so much as those guys and everything they did.

Hoonigan's legit dead IMO, I don't even care about it anymore without the crew. After Ken passed I knew it as all gonna go downhill from then on. I'ma watch Lia's career progress, but as far as Hoonigan goes, yea idk.

They got way corporate. I've watched 3 videos since the acquisition and having three separate sponsors in one video makes it so far away daily transmissions and the boys just Hooning around.

At least a lot of the ogs are making a comeback on their own channels and are showing up at the new block that's daily driven Exotics headquarters I think it's cool the OG hoonigans come in and are cool with what's going on and proud that their legacy is living on from that building because that was Ken's building and that's what he really loved

Let's tell the truth. WheelPro bought Hoonigan for its name! Then systematically destroyed hoonigan to get all of their old players out so they didn't have to do what hoonigan used to. Just like every corporation in the world they buy something good to destroy it. Whether it be too many Indians thing. But I'm pretty sure it was the plan from the start purchase, dismantle, replace. If you notice you can't find the name wheelpro anymore they are hoonigan now and hoonigan as you knew it does not exist.

I don't know how the rest of y'all feel but those personalities are the reason I watched when I get I don't think it's going to be left as a brand I mean was someone who does crazy things with cars

It could be Julia Smart's(formerly wheelpros marketing consultant) arrival, that is responsible for many leaving, including scoto. She has taken things over, in a bad way according to what brad said about the way she is doing things.

The whole car-afficionados/tuning/fan-community must appreciate DDEs move to take over the old Hoonigan-HQ and continue the legacy. Especially because the new Hoonigan-owners kinda annihilated the whole Hoonigan-spirit, streamlining/standardizing the videos. Even if you aren’t a fan of DDE: so glad they took over the place and are continuing the legacy as it was meant to be. ❤

Do you think the same thing will happen with Throtl? They seem to toe the corporate line though, buy a new old car, change the suspension, wheels, exhaust, maybe add some aero then drive it. Then plug merch, car parts and a new giveaway car. I guess I'm getting a bit bored with that repetition.

I think Ken probably had more pull within the brand the other guys did and with him gone the corporate heads took over. Just my thought on it.

Hoonigan was cool because they could hoon. Now, Wheel Pros has taken over its all corporate. No more hooning, nows its sale wheels and suspension parts. Seems like DDE is going to take up some of that space.

I think your almost on the mark but just missed it a little, in both Hert and Vin's videos they expressed that the business had just become to corporate and to structured from a creative standpoint and expressed an urge to return to more organically created content like we normally see on RU-vid. I don't think there was anything really from a financial point that sent these guys this way, as for their solo careers I think you'll see that you've got it backwards and they will prosper as hoonigan declines with their new corporate owners, yes characters come and go in shows but not the main ones and for the past 10 years these guys have been the true faces of the hoonigan brand

I hadn't known they closed up the burn yard facility but I would guess that the big names leaving was due in part to it no longer being local and being the new corporate machine. I think wheel pros is trying to keep it quite because their content seems to be all back logged videos and nothing relating to the now shuttered facility.

Ken was the GLUE that kept Hoonigan together. Once he passed, none of those guys was going to ride the coat tails of a teenage girl. Lia Block is not the face of Hoonigan, she does not carry the same prestige as Ken did.

Maybe an unpopular opinion. I didn't follow hoonigan for ken block. Yea initially i probably subbed because of one of kens gymkhana vids. But i stuck around for hert, vin, suppy, ... I didnt like ken that much. Didn't come across as a fun guy idk.
