I said it when I saw the first cinematic for this event. Everybody talking about Sailor Moon and Cardcaptor Sakura. Nah. This some dark, Madoka Magica type jazz, overflowing with existential dread and tragedy.
It wasn't Kai'sa's voice that told Akali she's a dissapointment, it's her mother's voice in this AU, as she always tells Akali that she's a dissapointment. Akali has a really bad home life in star guardian, i believe this is established when Akali and Kai'sa are walking home from school when they first become friends but im unsure
not really sure why wild rift got the 'main' star guardian story with xayah saving rakan .. this is really cool and i love to see it but the two love birds were the main focus, they should've finished that and then continute with this .. regardless really loving wild rift, best so far
I mean, it's kinda obvious why they did the better event for Mobile. They need to make more and more people play the mobile version, and whales are stupid enough to start playing just because one or two mobile exclusive skins
I think the starguardian event are mainly for wildrift, let's say as an exclusive event... they already did a lot of exclusive stuff on wr so it's no wonder they did it
@@cjhaedaten8711 I believe they stated somewhere that the star guardian skins (at least Senna, Sera and Ori) aren't exclusive ot the mobile version, and might make an appearance with the next SG event on PC
I don't think Fiddle is still alive in a physical or spiritual sense, I think he only lives on as a memory in her head, it's not Fiddle corrupting her after all because the VN states that he stalks those who are close to falling, and we're seeing her darkest thoughts and fears here so of course the memory of fiddle would be here, and as for the similar markings on her dark half, well I think that's just the aesthetic for truly fallen Guardians unlike Rakan and Xayah who are more or less just corrupted and in the process of falling, and as for the checker board them, well it's pretty apparent that the Guardians are just being used like pieces on a board.
Although Yasuo and Qiyana could work in some ways, Evelynn DEFINITELY WON'T be in the Star Guardian franchise. All of the base lore (canon in-game and not skin lore) star guardian/nemesis characters have very specific lore that makes them make sense with as to why they were chosen to be added to the star guardian skin line. Nilah is a legendary hero who defeats monsters left and right, soraka is a celestial who guides and helps people choose the right path, Kai'sa along with Taliyah is literally finding ways to prevent the void from corrupting the world, Fiddle is the living embodiment of fear and plays a major role as one of a big deal type of villain in LoL. Evelynn is a sexy demon who transforms their appearance to match the person/people they are trying to seduce. She is too innapropriate and has a REALLY LOW CHANCE of being in the star guardian franchise/skinline.
@@b0rkl327 she could be a fallen SG or much likely, a star nemesis. seems like they're adding more monster champs as enemies for the star guardians to fight and evelynn could be like morgana or zoe. (there are also a lot of references to magical girl animes and usually magicla girl animes have a hot sexy mommy villain at some point. also the aesthetic of the star guardian and their shadow like the one shown in the new cinematic of akali's would fit her gameplay-wise.
I hope that next year we'll get the last part of the whole Star Guardians universe. And for that I want : - Seraphine, Orianna, Senna and the Redeemed chromas for Xayah and Rakan. - Gwen and Akshan from the first Star Guardians team. - Nilah's last teammate. - One or two more Star Nemesis, maybe Bel'Veth, Tahm Kench, Cho'Gath, Swain, a monster related to something like Fiddlesticks with fear. - First Star Kayle.
@@ikarus6411 One of the stories said "the first light is a something, the first star is a being" and given that Nemesis Morgana is said to be the Star Guardians' main villain, it would make sense to get First Star Kayle
i enjoy the story so far! i keep griding the event to read each star guardians chapters and have already read the previous stories as well seen the videos in case i missed something! BUT! is this all for the greatest PVE event ever?!!??!?! CAN WE FINALY GET IT!!! all i want to do is pick Star Guardian Kai'Sa and fight Fiddle and Morgana! GIVE IT TO ME!!!!!!
they could have at least made a nexus blitz star guardian map where we fight morgana and fiddle during the special rounds, but at least we star guardian crowns in ultimate spellbook

Similar to the K/DA easter eggs, what makes me confused about Cafe Cuties in the visual novel is Gwen. Although she is not mentioned as a Cafe Cutie, we know she's a Star Guardian.
same with Battle Academia Ezreal hyping over star guardians from "the comic books" like there isnt literally a version of himself in there. I guess for them sharing names with a character isnt really that weird
same with soraka, though iirc shes not in the visual novel. but since SG and CC are in the same universe, there has to be a time where SG soraka and CC soraka both existed at the same time at some point
@@blackrangoanthony Shaco isn't anything. He doesn't have any lore, nothing. All he has is the "joker" & "trickster" thing that makes his appearance and gameplay in league, nothing else.
The voice at the beginning is not Akali's inner voice or Kai'sa's telling her she will bring them down its her mom's voice. In the prologue of the Twin Stars story it is hinted that Akali's mother is mentally abusive to her saying she is a failure and such. I think that has always stuck with Akali and her mother is always the voice of insecurity in her head.

And in the manga the titular character is weak only to scorpions, and the only person who knows about it that weakness is the crystal knight Sir Skarner Rell ships “The Derelict Emperor” with Sir Skarner for and I quote “completely normal reasons”
I think killing demons in LoL is much like "killing" daemons in warhammer. Destroying its physical body simply banishes them to... somewhere, so that later they can heal and return
basicly same as wow stole from warhammer, killing a demon you banish it. over time it can re-enter your realm, however if you enter their realm and kill them in that realm they die. So basicly they got infinate lives that regenerates. sure some oddities here and there with some magic you can prolly downright kill them. but rare.
Doesn't Greek mythology work that way? Idk if I was just a thing in Percy Jackson or actual mythology, but in those books your killed a monster and they went back to reform in Tarterus (misspelled I'm sure).

I'd say they sure did become SGs after popstars, since there's already three members of main K/DA in the SG world. As well as Sera in the WR ones. So now we just need a Star Nem Eve and the story of how the music tore them apart ;)

I think SG and K/DA are entirely different universes from each other. Like they still reference each of their personalities in their Runeterra counterparts but I think that's just it. In K/DA they all get along and are friends but in SG I don't think some of them are familiar with each other.
I regret only coming back in Jan 2023 to play LoL and too late in finding out that 2022 had a star guardian event. Are there any resources that I can read/watch to catch up on the lore so far?
my only question is who exactly is the ramen guy. He says he was there with the first star guardians so how old is he? Also, I think Morgana is a mis-understood villain (I'm sticking this this headcannon) where it's not that she wants to corrupt star guardians to have them become minions, but she wants to find star guardians who have any sort of doubt in their heart and who fall to the dark side or without any help they overexert themselves and thus become beings like fiddlesticks. I'm still in the camp that the First Star is Kayle and Morgana is either the reverse side of Kayle or they had a duo partnership but Morgana began to have doubts but since she was too powerful to actually become corrupt fully, she just harnessed a dark power instead. I can see a story point where Kayle, being the First Light, became overzealous in her actions and enacting judgement on any she met thus causing a rift between Morgana and her. Since Kayle couldn't be everywhere at once, she sends out a call to action to different worlds for help and when they answer they take on her power, but Kayle's blessing is too strong and causes some star guardians to "burn out"(whether literally or figuratively). Morgana might see this and try to help either prevent this from getting worse by helping overwhelmed recruits on finding a different path but not a lot of guardians want that (thus Zoe and Syndra don't like Morgana that much) IDK, just thinking out loud.

after not getting PVE and getting dumb game mode instead, i totally lost my hype and now i just don't care a bit about event and stories. hell i don't care about the rewards either. for me it's like this event is not happening. and i know bunch of people that feel exactly the same as me.
It’s very clear what’s going on. Akali accidentally heads into the person world and rejected her shadow. Clearly they are hinting at a persona 6 game release and league characters are gonna be in it.
I'ma be honest I don't care about Kaisa or Akali, I want to see more of xayah and rakan thier story is 1000% better imo also I main rakan soooooooo yeah :3
Or what about both? Considering that summer events are meant to be the biggest events throughout the whole year, making it have two different stories would have been wonderful, yet they chose to promote the mobile version instead
The visual novels honestly leave a lot to be desired. The writing feels like bad fan fiction and the pacing is messy. The fact there's no narration and everything is told through pure dialogue without much visual aid doesn't help...

plot twist: its all part of riots semi realistic universe where the kda group exists on actual earth and kda was just a cover up for all of the star guardians (or possibly a foreshadowing of what they do after being star guardians) and also valorant plays in the same universe because why not and then the city is named valoran city because of the title of the continent in league that also exists in that universe. its all coming together.
The one thing I don't like about SG is that I'll take a break from the game for a few months, come back and find out "Oh, there's like 13 new Star Guardian skins...forgive me, my wallet..." That and I want to keep up on the lore but hopelessly fail to do so. Hell, I thought SG Akali was new, but seeing as how this video was made a year ago apparently she isn't. Welp, looks like I've got some homework to do.

I didn't even notice the passive effect on the ground after she ults her shadow. That's really cool. I didn't know that people needed to be told they were just friends. I mean, the "everything goes on" cinematic did make it feel like there might be something extra to that connection for a second, but everything else has pointed to just really close friends. Love all the easter eggs in this.
can you please explain more on the passive effect? I'm an old League fan in several other ways but playing the games so I'm a bit lost on this one and the significance it holds.

Fallen Star Guardian (Magical Girl) turns into Monster (Witch) and the new Star Guardians then have to defeat them. Where have I heard this before... Not that I complain. It's cool when new stories take inspiration from older, more or less iconic ones.

no, because Fiddlesticks doesn't have a gender in main line lore, Fiddle is the embodiment of fear, just like Evelyn isn't actually a girl, they just take the shape that best helps them lure in prey, it's implied that all of the demons are shapeshifters.
Im not just skipping story... I am skipping whole event. I have better things in life than grinding some MOBA. They clearly haven't learned from Ruination
