As a medical professional, in my opinion (not medical advice), continuing to monitor your symptoms w/o treatment might be the most wise. If your palpitations are not every day, this could just be a benign finding. Of course follow your doctor's recommendations; however, in my professional opinion an ablation wouldn't be necessary unless you were clearly more symptomatic (i.e. frequency of palpitations increase). Do what you feel is best!

Medical decisions can be so difficult. I think you are right to not rush into anything. As someone who is limited physically by my health, I’m so glad you are able to continue to do the things that bring you joy and help your overall health with activity. The library looks AMAZING!

Not sure if this is the case with you, but I’d been suffering from heart palpitations for years, turns out it was due to severe iron deficiency! I’m iron deficient without anemia which caused me to go undiagnosed for years and years. In my country, most doctors don’t treat iron deficiency unless your lab results show anemia. No doctor ever told me I was iron deficient until recently, and I’m finally getting treatment🙏 I hope you get to the bottom of it soon.

You all did a fantastic job on the library, almost makes me wish I had stairs and a landing so I could copy what you did. Glad to hear your heart problem isn't life-threatening. I went into AFIB after a knee replacement and they opted to do two ablations after the medications did nothing for me. There is some downtime after the procedure, but I've been symptom-free for 5 years now and work out 2-3 hours every day (and I'm really old). I'm sure your doctors and family will help you make the best decision for you.

I hated the external monitors. I've had an internal monitor (smaller than a thumb drive, quick procedure) for the last year and it's finally caught the condition I've had since childhood that no other monitor could catch. I get it fixed in the spring, and I can finally exercise without fear again. Hang in there!

Great shelving! My aunt had atrial fibrillation. She said she took supplements (I know magnesium; I think also potassium). After decades with afib, it went away. Whatever your condition and decision, I wish you all the best.

I am so happy to hear that everything is well with you Joanna. I am absolutely in love with your new landing! The color you guys chose is gorgeous! You’ve inspired me to do something similar to my own space which will be coming soon. Happy Holidays Everyone!! ❤

I have the same heart issue. I'm now 42, still have heart issues, but is living life to my fullest! I'm haven't taken any meds for it. Doctors told me to keep an eye on it.

As someone who was born with a heart murmur I was told that when getting pregnant I would have to talk to the specialist as blood pressure would increase and I may need a few months of bedrest. I had a catheter at 15 years old and it was no big deal but we are all different! Simply weigh up things as they come. Information is power! 😁❤

I love your library! i really wish i had space that i could use like that, what an excellent use of what would normally be a wasted space. Also, i get heart palpitations, it's yet another symptom of fibromyalgia, so for someone like me, it's pretty common, but it can be scary when you don't know what it is, hopefully, they won't get any worse, but please, if they start getting more frequent, go straight back to the doctors 😘

My husband used to suffer with palpitations, ended up with one that didn’t stop so ended in SVT…long story short…similar symptoms to you, turned out he had Wolff Parkinson White Syndrome which is an extra electrical connection on the heart that you’re born with and gets stronger over time until it adds extra beats. Normally diagnosed 20s-30s. He didn’t wants meds, had an ablation which easy procedure and is back to normal now. This was 8 years ago.

As someone who has had both 24hr and the 7 day holter monitors, you did so well! Those spots do get super itchy and the dots stick a little too well! I currently have a 24hr BP monitor on now myself. I get runs of SVT but not "bad" enough for ablation and managed well with medications as I also have POTS (secondary to connective tissue disorder). Mine all kicked off at 22 post a surgery that I became septic from, so I know what you mean about meds at such a young age. Your attitude is always so positive and so great to hear. Thank you for sharing your experience and journey!

I'm having a cardio version tomorrow for chronic a fib. When you take the electrodes off use some rubbing alcohol to stop the itch. Why wouldn't they try a cardio version first before ablation?

Had something similar over the course of 10 years. I had 50 k ectopic beats (heart skipping a beat) everyday, but the main problem was an intermittent very fast arrythmia that was never caught on tape. I tried betablockers and they worked in a way to tamp down the issues. In the end I went for ablation and haven't looked back as it essentially solved both issues. Lucky for me while they were stimulating my heart i had one of the arrythmias and the surgeon says I was lucky as i was getting a two for one offer on heart ablation that day :). The surgery was ok really, you are awake and they give you some sedatives at the start while they are tickling your heart to get it to do the bad stuff. Once they have mapped the nerves they zonk you out and you may even fall asleep while they do the ablation part. I was in the theatre for 6 hours (but it was a double one) and out of the hospital the same day. The improvement was immediate and got steadily better as time went by. After about 6 months i wasn't getting any more than a normal amount of ectopic beats and no fast rhythms. Hope that helps

Lead placement is important.. Hopefully your findings are benign... I throw PAC's that are annoying and finally went on a low dose beta blocker after getting rid of caffeine and all other things that can aggravate the condition , that has worked amazingly well. If you're thinking of ablation, talk to someone who has had it done, it is not painless and isn't always successful, the people I've known that have had it done, have had to have it redone within a couple of years.

I had AF over a year ago after Covid. Had an event that lasted 48 hours. Completed every heart test you can think of, I considered ablation. Then I got bored of worrying about it and I started swimming every morning (Zone 1/2), increased the sleep and hydration and reduced alcohol (less than 3 drinks). It has not returned in over a year and now I am training 15 hours per week of mixed intensity. For me hydration (not just water, insure minerals are included) and sleep were key. I hope you find what works for you.

I had an ablation at age off 16. If you have your heart beating at a rate that is to high (I had heartrate at 240) multiple times a year I would really consider the ablation. The procedure only took like 30mins and you are awake when they do it :). It does hurt a little, but less than having a heartrate at 240 for like 2 hours...

I have mitral valve prolapse. It also causes heart palpitations. I have done the monitor and echocardiogram. My doctors said I am OK also. All that said, just monitor and tell the Dr if it becomes worse.

I'm wearing a similar heart monitor. It is a pain. Mine will often just fall off of where it clips on my clothing; it, unplugs and hit the floor with a lovely thud. Only 25 more days. 😛 Hope all is OK, Jay. 🙂

I had to wear a heart monitor years ago - turns out my body struggles to handle caffeine so I was getting heart palpitations from drinking two diet cokes a day & some tea 🙄😂 now I only drink caffeine free diet coke & have only one regular tea a day, then the rest decaf 🙈 lame lol

The monitor here in the US I had to wear was just the size of the blue piece on your chest…. It recorded and was downloaded after it was turned in…no wires or pack

Gosh I started have heart started to run wild when I was 13 had have ekgs heart monitors stress test camera inside me look g at my heart and they never found anything a few ambulance rides until one day my heart was spinning out of control felt like it was jumping out of my chest at a park where a retired dr was and he was so helpful and he said how is your magnesium and he recommended me to take x amount of magnesium pills when it happens and if it stopped it the culprit was my magnesium level and it did help so now I eat magnesium to keep up with it and keep my heart normal
