Tail wag doesn't mean happy it means excitement/stim which isn't always happy In this case the dog in unsure see it's ears airplain when the monkey touches it for a moment it lio licks and stiffens it als lead back it's ears are perked forward majority of the time and it's tail is high indicating intensity often seen when expecting a fight or seeing prey. It shows mild curiosity by focusing in on the monkeys and leaning forward a couple times but at no point does it express wanting to actually interact as it lip licks, leans back, or wags all while decently stiff. It's a decently ok interaction but I honestly would be scared to ever have anything like that happen with a dog as it takes on moment to go from just a interaction to a fight that the dog could end up dead in due to monkeys fighting in packs/group's that rival almost any dog pack I even artificially made.

Monkeys are very clever and this one worked out the dogs friendly personality. Also looks like monkey is older and understands the world better. Both look like they got a good heart but the monkey is running this game, obviously. 😂😊❤
German Shepherds are great dogs and easy to train. I've had several in my 67 years of life. In fact I'm planning on getting another one they make awesome best friends. After something happens to me, my daughter and grandbabies will have a great well trained guard dog. She's a single mom. It's a win, win situation.😊😊❤❤❤
What a nice dog! He could NOT have been sure of what to make of this situation, not in advance. This looks like a first encounter. Maybe not, it looks like it though. He was so nice and open minded about this possibly new, certainly strange, experience! I love dogs. Especially smart ones.
