Thank you so much, Charles!!! Isn't it crazy?? There's SO many different systems of magick and each one takes years of intensive study to fully understand. I still don't fully understand Qabalah and I'm pretty sure I will spend my entire life trying. There's so much to it... But that's definitely what makes it exciting!

RIGHT??? That last book sounds so interesting, I can't wait to start reading it! (Need to finish the other million books I have started first... LOL.) And yes, Qabalah can absolutely be used in shadow work. During the pathworking process, you would probably want to go into Hod or Netzach first and spend some time there. But it takes a while to be able to hit a meditative state deep enough to reach them in the first place. You would essentially start at the base of the tree and work on healing each sphere before you move onto the next one. Qabalah definitely helps in categorizing all the different areas of your brain!

Thank you; I so appreciate that! It was daunting to make a video about Qabalah because it's such a complex topic that deserves years of intensive study. And I chose my words VERY carefully so that no one would be offended. 😂 I agree with you - Qabalah should really be studied by any serious occult student! As well as Kundalini, altered states, etc. It makes us practitioners so much more successful. And yes, the spelling variations always mess people up. "Kabbalah" is more of a philosophy and a religion where one might work with angels, the divine mother and father, etc. Whereas "Qabalah" is a philosophy and a magical practice. But there is a LOT of overlapping and I had to go through the depths of Kabbalah to figure out where all these spelling variations came from. Nobody seems to know what they're talking about. 😆 I'm glad to hear your thoughts, as always!

@@IvyTheOccultist I found that Hindu practices of the far east connect and tie very well into Qabalah quite well - almost as if it were intertwined - like a distant twin from Asia waiting to be reunited. The Annunaki/Egyptian/Hindu gods have many similarities that folks seem to miss, it's connected somehow.

@@Shadowman9348 YES! I totally agree. I haven't done a deep dive into Hindu practices but I have learned a little bit about them. And Egyptian magick is DEFINITELY interwoven into pretty much everything. It's incredible how many similarities there are between all these practices!

Also, yes, Dion Fortune's "Mystical Qabalah" is SO, SO dry. I've had to come back to it quite a few times!

@@IvyTheOccultist I'm sorry that I keep recommending out of print books. 😅 They where my favorite books when I was learning, but many are from the 80ths or 90ths. I did see a 2th hand copy for sell for like 62 dollar's. I'm sure back in the day I paid like 20 or 24 euro for it. Older books can go for crazy prices. I'm not rich enough to buy them for 100ths of dollars/euros. 😂 But some I really miss. We had a really bad storm a few years ago. We had a huge leak in the roof and 2 books in storage in the attic that held a lot of my older books got damaged beyond repair. I really love to replace my destroyed copy of The Qabalistic Tarot; a textbook of mystical philosophy but I'll probably need to robe a bank to buy a 2nd hand copy.

There's so much information for each one; that is definitely doable! Also, the angels that are associated with each sphere come from Judaism since there is still the influence of the traditional Kabbalah. Other pantheons don't really cross over into the Qabalistic system because it's primarily based on Jewish mysticism. But I'm sure there's some parallels there! You could take the Qabalah system and make it your own, with corresponding Greek deities! And, I love what you said about Plato's levels of expression. 👏👏 Fascinating stuff!

This is so beautiful!! I love hearing about people's interactions with different types of energy (whatever they may be). I have zero experience with angels since I'm a bit more of an atheist than anything. I do believe in personifications of energy though. And I do believe that people perceive energy differently. So what may be an "angel" to you, may be a certain subconscious/psychological archetype to me. Or what people consider gods/goddesses, I might consider different swirls of energy that occupy the world we live in. This is such a tricky question to answer but I love the discussion! I believe that I am god. You are god. The rocks and trees outside are "God" and that these celestial energies are interspersed throughout our environment. And by working with these energies, we can access archetypal energies within our own minds. So angels (even though I don't necessarily believe in angels) can be really powerful because it's a personification of a certain type of energy. I don't really work with the angelic side of Qabalah. If anything, I work with the planetary associations instead. Since I am so immersed in astrology, I can understand something much easier if I know it's linked to Jupiter, or Saturn, or Venus... Etc. It's a language that speaks to me and that I can comprehend. But I know that's not the same for everyone! Other people might find angels a lot easier to work with than planetary energies.... From my perspective, they're all the same thing. Planets, angels, gods, goddesses... They are all energies that we can harness to better our lives. They just have different names and appearances depending on your culture, your beliefs, etc.! What do you think? I hope that all makes sense!

@@IvyTheOccultist totally! I had done a guided meditation to find my spiritual guide (or at least one of them) I asked if the being had a name, all I saw was light in the shape of a person. I heard the name Azrael. (It’s not a name I have heard in a very long time and I had to spell it in a few ways to find it) The only time I heard the name was the cat on the smurfs cartoon when I was very young. That’s pretty random so I looked more into it. I really rather not believe in the personification of anything but I’m trying to approach in a child like manner, As if in play, while also researching and seeing if it resonates. I love the idea of chaos magic, and have always loved metaphysics. I rather work with the energy that makes up all things but at the same time it really resonates. Azrael is said to be related to the snake in the garden of Eden. Samael is another being that is said the be the snake in the garden of Eden but Azrael is the only name that I don’t forget, anytime I think of that energy or being that name is right there. Samael is a name I have to look at my notes to remember. I’ve never had an interest in angels, figuring they are more of a metaphor. So, this all is weird and that makes me really look into it because if I am too comfortable with it… There is a better chance it is a construct of my imagination. I really need to start taking data, I am noticing changes around me and serendipities but it would be better for me to see the potential of any particular construct in my practice to have actual data in front of me. What you say makes so much sense and honestly I rather the way you approach magic to what I have been working with. Still, it all makes sense as a whole. The circular movement that death represents has been a theme for a while in my life. I’d say it all is kinda scary but it’s not. My magic seems to have jumped right over any of the lighter magics right into the dark. (Neither are good or bad it is just the best vocabulary I have at this time) Maybe angel isn’t the best term. Maybe just a way to define the energy that seems to have told me their name. I totally get what you are saying and am not a monotheist. I guess I am looking into the constructs that others have defined and then with that knowledge define it for myself. Azrael is connected to Pluto. I’m researching what that means. What does Pluto represent to you?

@@jenniferthibodeaux8565 okay, so that is really interesting! First of all, YES you need to start taking notes of what's happening around you. And also... You are a Scorpio sun sign, correct? (I know you identify with the Scorpio somewhere in your birth chart.) Pluto is the ruler of Scorpio so I find it fascinating that this Azrael angel has made his way to you... ESPECIALLY considering that he represents the exact same things as Pluto and Scorpio. Pluto is all about transformation. I personally consider Pluto the king of the underworld because it's all about going into the darkness to create that change. I think it's rather perfect that Azrael seems to have reached out to you and you definitely need to explore more of that!

@@IvyTheOccultist yes, Scorpio sun and Aries moon. Even though one is water and the other fire… they both are connected to Azrael. So, that is exactly it. The coincidences are multiple and I am truly amazed at the outcomes to the magic I have been gifted. Maybe everyone has magic in them… even so, it is a gift to each person in my mind. I wrote a spell to help myself become healthier, and more confident. I know weight loss is a touchy subject but after some surgeries I became obese. I couldn’t seem to be able to turn myself around. So, I thought to do this spell. I have been motivated to start walking 10000 steps a day. I didn’t just start shedding pounds but that motivation was not something I had before. I have now lost 9.5 pounds. I’ve become less drawn to sugar (huge thing) These are all parts I have tried to force myself to do. Since I haven’t dated in 2 years and have no real draw to start right now, being in shape can’t be for anyone else. This one little spell, using a jar has had that much power. The results speak for themselves. Yesterday after commenting on your video, I drew a card from my tarot deck that I had never drawn before. The 10 of pentacles. I draw cards sometimes in just a conversation. Look up the Light Seers tarot deck 10 of pentacles. Even with everything else, it still surprised me. I actually laughed out loud and was like… message received. The only thing that kinda messes me up is … all that darkness, sometimes my background in Pentecostal religion rears it’s ugly head and can make me doubt myself. I know I am a good person, I find joy in helping people who are invisible to many. I have so much love that I have a practice of sharing. Yet so much of me is so very dark. I both love it because it feels so right and it kinda scares me too. Will I lose myself in darkness… or will I find myself there. I actually know I am finding myself there but I can lose confidence. I know dark and evil are not the same. I really don’t believe in evil. It makes too much of a dichotomy, I don’t believe it is that clear cut. Evil people are sick… I see it as a sickness, not one I want to mess with but sickness all the same. I think that was a tangent.😂 No matter what.. I seem to have a major connection to the energy some may see as the snake that tempted Adam and Eve. I think he got a bad rap. We have to have a scapegoat if we aren’t willing to see the shadow side of ourselves. My Azrael choose to be that scapegoat… I believe that makes him stronger than any of the bright and shiny ones.. and more lovely. See? I am so confusing. lol I think I am more shadow than light. I don’t even see myself as gray. Even other witches may see me as bad. I guess that’s not my problem. Oi 😂

What a fantastic idea!! I have not considered diving into the sub-sections of witchcraft but that sounds fascinating! I wish I had a book recommendation for that, but unfortunately I do not know of any that compare different witchcraft traditions. Most of the books I see tend to deep dive into one specific path rather than discussing how all the different paths fit together and their differences. I think this would be a really interesting thing to research! I have some of my own knowledge on this topic, but not enough to teach it. It would definitely be another fun deep dive!

@@IvyTheOccultist wish I could take college level classes along these lines. I mean, we are all pretty familiar with the 101 witchy stuff that’s easy to come across. It would be fun to deep dive with others to get varied perspectives. I don’t do anyone’s Patreon, but IF you had a book club, I’d join for the discussions. Know you are busy, just thinking- ok hinting - out loud on that. Lol. I found a book on Amazon called Stregheria and will see if I can get it via my library first. I have never been drawn to it before- always considered it a hereditary practice, but now I’ve got to find out why it’s calling to me. (And no Italian heritage in our fam, we just had dna results.). I think Frankie (Chaotic Witch Aunt) recently posted a video about it and a lot of people are talking about Italian witchcraft now. But that's crazy you saw it across 3 different locations! Definitely worth researching for sure 👏

It is definitely a lot different from the original Kabbalah! That's why I like to call it a Frankenstein magical system... Especially since there is a huge influence of hermeticism, Egyptian magick, etc... I have found that Kabbalah is primarily used as a system to achieve some sort of union with a higher power, or to gain enlightenment, etc. It is very much a "high magick" practice. At least from what I've observed. Whereas Hermetic Qabalah can be used for a lot of low magick purposes: spellwork, creating talismans, improving one's life in the physical realm... If you are familiar with Chaos Magick, then Hermetic Qabalah kind of reminds me of chaos magick a bit in that way... It takes pieces from many different magical systems and combines them all together. As far as pronunciation goes... I tried my best! 😂 Everyone pronounces the names differently. I tried as hard as I could to find the right pronunciations, but I don't speak Hebrew. However, the pronunciations I used are from some academics that I trust. And yes, Jesus has absolutely nothing to do with the original Kabbalah!

@@IvyTheOccultist I think since you practice Qabalah, your pronunciation is probably fine. It’s more nuance of the gutter Al letters and how a terminating th ligature is pronounced in most Hebrew (as a t, not th). I know Kabbalah is a closed practice, though, so I don’t usually share my resources with non-Jewish people out of respect for my religion. Even as an agnostic Jewitch, I am first a Jew.

@@_quiara_ ahh, that makes perfect sense! Yes, I try to give respect to traditional Jewish mysticism. So many people claim they are practicing Kabbalah (instead of Qabalah)... And I'm like... Are you Jewish? When they say no, then I tell them they're probably not practicing traditional Jewish mysticism then. Lol
