Being based in the Philippines, the lack of a statement on divorce is not surprising as it is my understanding that there is no legal divorce in that country.

That's more reason to have a statement on which marriages you recognize, and if and how they can be dissolved.

@litigioussociety4249 my reference is more a matter of the founder being from a country where divorce is prohibited by law may not have been aware of the need for a doctrinal statement on the subject.

@@tomflinn9815 I misunderstood your statement. I thought you meant no legal divorce, because they don't have civil marriage, not that they had civil marriage but no legal divorce. If there's no civil marriage, or a couple is only getting a private marriage, then it's fundamental for the institution marrying them to have clear rules on marriage. If civil marriage were banned, I assume conservative denominations would be very united on whether or not to honor a marriage or divorce from anothrr church, while progressive ones would consider bigamy by ignoring previous marriages of conservative denominations.

@@tomroyal6167 It is in the Bible. 1 Corinthians 14:1-5 14 Pursue love, and earnestly desire the spiritual gifts, especially that you may prophesy. 2 For one who speaks in a tongue speaks not to men but to God; for no one understands him, but he utters mysteries in the Spirit. 3 On the other hand, the one who prophesies speaks to people for their upbuilding and encouragement and consolation. 4 The one who speaks in a tongue builds up himself, but the one who prophesies builds up the church. 5 Now I want you all to speak in tongues, but even more to prophesy. The one who prophesies is greater than the one who speaks in tongues, unless someone interprets, so that the church may be built up. So Paul says here he would rather speak intelligible language rather than speaking in tongues in the church so that the people may be edified.

In the books of Acts, we find in Chapter 2 the Birth of the Church when initially the 120 in the upper room receive the "Promise of the Father" (Luke24:49) Which is "The Comforter" Jesus spoke of in John 14, after he said "I will not leave you comfortless, I will come to you." In verse 26 he says that the comforter is "the Holy Ghost. In verse 17 Jesus calls the Comforter "the Spirit of Truth"* whom the World cannot receive because it seeth Him not neither knoweth Him, but ye know Him for He dwelleth with you (Jesus) and shall be in You (the Holy Ghost, Whom Paul calls "Christ in You the Hope of Glory") Why is "Christ in us" the hope of "Glory" (Heaven)? Paul tells us in Romans 8 "If any man have not the Spirit of Christ he is none of His" and Jesus said "except a man be born of water and of the Spirit he cannot enter in the Kingdom of God." Remember that it is by "One Spirit" that we are all baptized into One body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles." It is important to note that Acts 2 never mentions or speaks of the "Gift of Tongues" rather Peter calls it the "Gift of the Holy Ghost." While related It is my understanding that these are not exactly the same. I do not mean to argue semantics but this is an important distinction. The Gift of the Holy Ghost" is being "born of the Spirit" the Baptism, infilling, receiving (terms used interchangeably in scripture) of God's own Spirit. It is an integral part of the New Brith i.e., Salvation. "Speaking in tongues" is the intial evidence, or sign of receiving or being "filled with the Holy Ghost." Note: The Holy Ghost does not come automatically with Belief or Baptism for We see in Acts 8 that the believers had not yet received the Gift of the Holy Ghost though they had Believed in Jesus and been Baptized in His name. It is not (as the video speaker alludes to) an evangelical (missionary) gift. For Peter later stands up and preaches (having the keys to the kingdom) to the entire crowd of Jews, apparently in one language whether it was Greek or Aramaic (Hebrew) I can't say for sure. This after they asked Him what they must do. See Acts 2:38 for his reply. Why do I say that Acts 2 speaks of the Gift of the Holy Ghost is spoken of in Acts 2 rather than the "Gift of Tongues"? And that Tongues is the initial evidence of receiving the Holy Ghost? (The fruit of the Spirit is the abiding or continuing evidence, see Gal. 5) Because Peter says that "speaking in tongues" is that which the Prophet Joel prophesied about. Joel quoted God as saying "I will pour out my Spirit upon all flesh." Peter equates the external expression (the visible, audible, manifest sign or evidence) Speaking in other langues as God fills a person and enables them to do so, with the promised outpouring of God's own Spirit. Jesus calls speaking in tongues a sign that will follow those that believe. In Mark 16:17 (I understand not all regard this scripture as original.) How do I know that the Gift of the Holy Ghost is distinct from the Gift of Tongues? Because everyone that believes in Jesus can and should receive the Gift of the Holy Ghost (you must Have God's Spirit to be saved.) Jesus said as much: John 7:37-39 KJV - In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink. He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water. (But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.) Speaking in tongues (other real langues) is the sign of receiving the Holy Ghost, as evidenced by Peters words in Acts 10. Acts 10:45-48 KJV - And they of the circumcision which believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because that on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Ghost. For they heard them speak with tongues, and magnify God. Then answered Peter, Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized, which have received the Holy Ghost as well as we? And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord. Then prayed they him to tarry certain days. Acts 11:15 KJV - And as I began to speak, the Holy Ghost fell on them, as on us at the beginning. John the Baptist prophesied of the Day of Pentecost when He said, that He that cometh after me shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost and fire. (Seen in Acts 2.) So clearly the Gift received in Acts 2 is the Gift of God's Spirit necessary for Salvation. Why is this distinct from the Gift of Tongues? Because Paul implied in 1st Cor. 12 that Not all speak with tongues. 1 Corinthians 12:30 KJV - Have all the gifts of healing? do all speak with tongues? do all interpret? But we know from the Words of Jesus in John 7 and Mark 16 and Peter in Acts 2 that everyone who believes on Jesus will receive the Gift of the Holy Ghost evidenced by Speaking in another (unknown to them) language as God gives them the ability. So Paul must be talking about something different because Not everyone has the "Gift of Tongues." Now I cannot here do justice to a discussion of 1st Cor. 12-14 but my understanding is that in these chapters Paul addresses both the infilling of the Holy Ghost evidenced by speaking in another tongues (languages) when He talks about Private Prayer to God that only God can understand, which he says is for personal edification (James says or calls it "building up yourselves in your most Holy Faith, praying in the Holy Ghost." See also Romans 8:26-27) And He talks about the Gift of Tongues meant to be interpreted by another with the Gift of Interpretation (refer back to 1st Cor. 12:30) and this gift is given for the edification of the Church as a whole. See 1st Corinthians 14:4-5. To conflate the gift of tongues and interpretation and the Gift of the Holy Ghost is in my understanding improper for they are clearly distinct experiences. One of these Gifts (the Gift of the Holy Ghost) is explicitly salvific and not an merely an additional blessing" bestowed upon a willing saint of God, while the other is a non-salvific gift bestowed on an individual for the edification of the Church at large. I am happy to answer any questions or responses to my view here. Respectfully

Seems very focused on Filipinos both domestic (in country) and immigrants/guest workers elsewhere. The real questions are why do these Filipinos: 1. abandon Catholicism, the previously unchallenged faith in their country? 2. Need a new Pentecostal church when they already had both evangelical and Pentecostal churches? 3. Join a church limited to their nationality?

For 1, it's simple, poverty and lack of education in a poor country. Not to say Catholicism or traditional evangelical faiths don't address the former, but the likes of Villanueva and others are charismatic and push a grassroots perception that they help the poor, which in some cases they do over the main churches despite massive corruption. In terms of attitudes, Catholics and traditional Protestant churches are more apolitical while these churches tap into the wide sociopolitical sentiments combining faith with political dogmatism. They've taken up the trashy TV evangelist persona from the USA and always wear formal suits and try to look expensive. Both Villanueva and Manalo as examples have senior positions in the government, stemming from their funding of candidates. As a result they're turned a blind eye from their massive pocketing of churchgoer funds and lavish expenses. Others like Quiboloy have literal sexual charges that are being staved off by govt connections. On a base level, many in PH also switch for shallow reasons like ego. New church supports the presidential candidate who becomes the victor, why would I remain part of the loser church with other losers that supported the LOSER of a race, or didn't even speak up during the election of the century?? Other times people go through a period of lapsed or losing faith, have a born-again experience and JNC/INC abuse that vulnerability to turn them into diehard members who then espouse the church as a form of moral superiority because it brought them back to god. In PH people love to claim their church makes them more faithful than others.

He had a cordial talk with the priest and received communion following one of the Masses. But in those OT prophecies, there is only one People of God mentioned, the Jews and not the Christians. The solution, then, is that the heavenly People of God (the Christians) have to be "taken away" (raptured) before the end times sequence of events can begin. Question: How can you possibly take faith seriously? How can anyone in their right mind ask others to believe in the existence of a Deity who makes Mormons so Christians will know how Jews feel, having had their literature hijacked. Nothing fails like prayers in a children's hospital & indoctrinating children is criminal. The faith vocabulary causes the user to be avoided like the old woman with too many cats. Faith "comes not with peace, but sword." Faith comes with wolves dressed as sheep & preaching to the choir. Faith trades the last cow for a pocketful of magic beans & then expects everyone's appreciation. Jesus said, it is a wicked generations which seeks signs such as resurrection. Faith is as worthless as fantasyland magic, since you can't tell mountains to move. The only sign in reality is Jonah: A believer murdered by other believers because he is outnumbered. The context is Jesus seeing a gathering crowd.

This church circles around one family. A third of their media postings is about one or more of their family members. The founder claims to have prophetic mandata of "speaking the heart and mind of God to the nation". He claims that people like Morris Cerullo, T.L. Osborn, Oral Roberts, Ralph Mahoney and Kenneth Hagin "shaped the focus and thrust of preaching and ministry." "He was reared not just to believe in miracles but to RELY ON THEM" (emphasis is mine). Apparantly God's grace is not sufficient to him. In church governance, the church is governed like the Roman Catholic church with a special position for the leader. In their policies it is stated that "Every member must faithfully follow the provisions of the Constitution and existing code and OTHERS AS MAY BE PROMULGATED BY JILCW THROUGH THE EXECUTIVE BISHOP". Furthermore it states that regarding money, resources, assets, and properties, brother Eddie, is "THE PRINCIPAL PROTECTOR AND TRUSTEE OF GOD" (emphasis is mine). I asked who was the bishop who laid hand on Villanueva to make him a bishop, and who was the bishop who laid hand to the bishop that laid hand to Villanueva. The staff said, " one moment and I'll look for a resident pastor" 5 minutes, 10, 20, 30 minutes passed. No one ever picked up the phone. They were not hanging it up either. I hang up. Until now I am Catholic and will always will be. I am not sure if Villanueva is still called bishop. And this a known ploy in the Philippines. Faith groups start first as "fellowships" to attract Catholics and other Protestants. Referring to initial comment: Baptism of the Holy Ghost, Infilling of the Holy Ghost, and Outpouring of the Holy Ghost are interchangeably phrases all referring to the Promise of the Father i.e. "The Holy Spirit" received in the New Birth. John 7:37-39 KJV - In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink. He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water. (But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.) Luke 24:46-49 KJV - And said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behoved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day: And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. And ye are witnesses of these things. And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high. Acts 1:4-5 KJV - And, being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, saith he, ye have heard of me. For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence. Acts 2:4 KJV - And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance. Acts 10:44-48 KJV - While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word. And they of the circumcision which believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because that on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Ghost. For they heard them speak with tongues, and magnify God. Then answered Peter, Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized, which have received the Holy Ghost as well as we? And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord. Then prayed they him to tarry certain days. Acts 11:15-18 KJV - And as I began to speak, the Holy Ghost fell on them, as on us at the beginning. Then remembered I the word of the Lord, how that he said, John indeed baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost. Forasmuch then as God gave them the like gift as he did unto us, who believed on the Lord Jesus Christ; what was I, that I could withstand God? When they heard these things, they held their peace, and glorified God, saying, Then hath God also to the Gentiles granted repentance unto life.

3:12 With reference to the post-resurrection era there is no scriptural distinction between the Baptism of the Holy Ghost and the Infilling or receiving of the Holy Ghost. They are one and the same salvific event that is experienced in the New Birth, (John 3:3-5) thus used interchangeably. Note: The Baptism or infilling of the Holy Ghost is not necessarily concurrent with Water Baptism in the Name of Jesus, though it should precede or soon follow for the individual who seeks it with sincere faith, (having already repented -See Acts 17:30 & 2nd Corinthians 6:14-18) We see evidence of this in the following passage. Acts 8:14-16 KJV - Now when the apostles which were at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent unto them Peter and John: Who, when they were come down, prayed for them, that they might receive the Holy Ghost: (For as yet he was fallen upon none of them: only they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.) Then laid they their hands on them, and they received the Holy Ghost. Passages that show that the baptism of the Holy Ghost is synonymous with the infilling or receiving of the Holy Ghost: Luke 3:16 KJV - John answered, saying unto them all, I indeed baptize you with water; but one mightier than I cometh, the latchet of whose shoes I am not worthy to unloose: he shall *baptize you with the Holy Ghost and with fire:* Acts 2:1-4 KJV - And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. *And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.* Acts 2:16 KJV - But this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel; Joel 2:28-29 KJV - And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will *pour out my spirit* upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions: And also upon the servants and upon the handmaids in those days will I pour out my spirit. John 3:8 ESV - The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear its sound, but you do not know where it comes from or where it goes. So it is with everyone who is born of the Spirit.” Acts 2:32-33 KJV - This Jesus hath God raised up, whereof we all are witnesses. Therefore being by the right hand of God exalted, and having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Ghost, he hath shed forth this, which ye now see and hear. Ezekiel 36:26 KJV - A new heart also will I give you, and *a new spirit will I put within you:* and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh. Acts 10:44-48 KJV - While Peter yet spake these words, *the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word.* And they of the circumcision which believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because that on the Gentiles also was *poured out the gift of the Holy Ghost. For they heard them speak with tongues, and magnify God.* Then answered Peter, Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized, which have *received the Holy Ghost as well as we?* And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord. Then prayed they him to tarry certain days. Acts 11:16-18 KJV - Then remembered I the word of the Lord, how that he said, John indeed baptized with water; but ye shall be *baptized with the Holy Ghost.* Forasmuch then as *God gave them the like gift as he did unto us, who believed on the Lord Jesus Christ;* what was I, that I could withstand God? When they heard these things, they held their peace, and glorified God, saying, Then hath God also to the Gentiles granted repentance unto life. Acts 19:1-6 KJV - And it came to pass, that, while Apollos was at Corinth, Paul having passed through the upper coasts came to Ephesus: and finding certain disciples, He said unto them, Have ye *received the Holy Ghost* since ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost. And he said unto them, Unto what then were ye baptized? And they said, Unto John's baptism. Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus. When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, *the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied.* The baptism or infilling or receiving of the Holy Ghost is a necessary element of the New Birth (regeneration) being born again or "initial salvation." John 3:5-8 KJV - Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, *Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.* That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Marvel not that I said unto thee, *Ye must be born again.* The wind bloweth where it listeth, and *thou hearest the sound thereof,* but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: *so is every one that is born of the Spirit.* John 7:37-39 KJV - In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink. He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water. (But this spake he of *the Spirit,* which they that believe on him should *receive:* for the *Holy Ghost* was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.) Romans 8:8-11 KJV - So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God. But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. *Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.* And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness. But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you. 1 Corinthians 15:45 KJV - And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit. 1 Corinthians 12:13 KJV - For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit. The One Spirit is Jesus: Ephesians 2:18 KJV - For through him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father. 2 Corinthians 3:17-18 KJV - Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord. Christ was raised from the dead be the glory of the Father. (Romans 6:4) God is Spirit. John 4:24 ESV - God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth.” 1 Corinthians 8:6 KJV - But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him. Ephesians 4:4-6 KJV - There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling; One Lord, one faith, one baptism, One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all. John 14:9 KJV - Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father? John 2:19-22 KJV - Jesus answered and said unto them, Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up. Then said the Jews, Forty and six years was this temple in building, and wilt thou rear it up in three days? But he spake of the temple of his body. When therefore he was risen from the dead, his disciples remembered that he had said this unto them; and they believed the scripture, and the word which Jesus had said. 2 Corinthians 5:19 KJV - To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation. Colossians 2:9 KJV - For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily. Colossians 1:15 KJV - Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature: 2 Corinthians 4:4 KJV - In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.

I always thought of salvation as a tree and the faithful as branches that can be broken off or grafted on. This is the same analogy the Bible uses: "But if some of the branches were broken off, and you, a wild olive shoot, were grafted in their place to share the rich root of the olive tree, do not boast over the branches. If you do boast, remember that it is not you that support the root, but the root that supports you. You will say, 'Branches were broken off so that I might be grafted in.' That is true. They were broken off because of their unbelief, but you stand only through faith. So do not become proud, but stand in awe. For if God did not spare the natural branches, perhaps he will not spare you. I have always believed that the only way to lose salvation is the willfully choose to lose your salvation, and that’s assuming that somebody is really Saved could do that. I’m not sure that’s possible, but you have to willfully choose to deny Christ and not be saved. That would be a definition of insanity.

You have just described a “church government” in which the founder or pastor is “the word of god” or god(John 1:1) to followers or worshippers. For the Catholics the Vatican is their government. Structurally it is equivalent to the government in nations. This government is constructed with three primary agents namely knowledge/doctrines/ideology, head of government and citizens/followers or body of government. Unknown to many, that's the original sin Christ came to destroy. Gen 3:15 And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your seed(government of Sin) and her Seed(Christ the government); He will bruise your HEAD(of government), and you shall bruise His heel.

We are in a post Christian culture that the evil one has seduced into believing false definitions of words like believe and faith and the best one is repent. Remember why God defined His name as I AM! Because the nature is the name. If you call a frog a horse it still looks the same. So the nature of the God we worship matters more than what we call Him. We will become what we worship and the Holy God won’t be fooled by words.

When people say something is full-gospel, or contains the complete gospel, there's no way for them to really know. They're just saying it contains the parts of the gospel they agree with, or some doctrine they've made up that they want you to follow. There have been so many writings that have been lost and so many things that were never written down in the first place, it's impossible to know what the full and complete gospel originally was.

Everything b/t Revelation 1:1 and 22:20 was fulfilled in the first century, according to God the Father, twenty centuries ago, who alone knew the day and the hour of Christ', coming Kingdom and Revealed it in Revelation 1:1. That's why those who read it in the first century, would be blessed reading it. Revelation 1:3 Do you really believe that God was fibbing in Revelation 1:1? They in the first century didn't. Depending on how we look at Jesus, either seeing Him according to the flesh, or according to His Spirit. Jesus is the Son of God in the flesh and the Almighty God in Spirit. John reveals that Jesus is God, not a God among other Gods, but the only supreme God there is, or ever will be in, John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. John 1:14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. John 1:10 He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not. John is not saying that Jesus in his flesh created the world But if need be, he could have called into existence anything He wanted. In other words, in His Spiritual body He created the worlds with His Word. Jesus spake the word and His Spirit created the worlds, exactly like Jesus did in all of His works. He said Tabatha arise from the dead and His Spirit made it happen. Notice in Genesis Jesus said, “Let there be dry land,” and there was dry land, and He saw the dry land and the dry land was good. Jesus said in, Matthew 26:53 Thinkest thou that I cannot now pray to my Father, and he shall presently give me more than twelve legions of angels? 54 But how then shall the scriptures be fulfilled, that thus it must be? In other words, Jesus as the body and image of the invisible God were exactly in synchronization with one another to point that Jesus said, “I and my Father are one.” we read this in, Heb 1:8 “But unto the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: a sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of thy kingdom.” Since I am made in the image of God the I am made in the image of Jesus Christ who was God and man.

I was raised Classical-Pentecostal, and I reject the initial evidence of the baptism with the Holy Spirit belief. From scripture, tongues often happened, but not always. When the first gentiles received it, they spoke in tongues and prophesied. To say tongues only is unbiblical. To say tongues always is unbiblical.
@resetsetmefree478
@resetsetmefree478 18 дней назад
The Bible teaches that "speaking" in tongues is a gift given for the spread of the gospel where otherwise there would have been a language barrier. It also teaches that one can "pray" in a tongue though Paul is of the opinion that it is best done privately. For example I have a Spanish prayer book. I love the sound of Spanish but I can't converse in the language. And yet if I want to I could use a Spanish prayer book and the Bible teaches there is nothing wrong with doing so What it DOESN'T mention is babbling a bunch of gibberish and jumping around in convulsions like they do on TV. I don't see how that's a Christian practice 🤔

Yea he’s wrong. As a Pentecostal myself, we don’t have capital A apostles. Just small a apostles….but only in a missionary sense. As a Protestant, no Protestant church has an “Apostle”. However I would say the Pope is an Apostle (of the RCC) and possibly the Patriarch of the Greek Orthodox church for the EO. The problem with NAR is it is only exposing to Catholics why Protestantism is wrong. It’s not okay for Calvin to simply say “the time of the Apostles ended.”

Summary: The transition period of the "last days generation" was AD 30 - AD 70. What was temporary - physical: 1. The Old Covenant written on stone. 2. Physical kingdom: the Law, the Temple, the Priesthood, National Jews and Canaan. What is eternal - Spiritual: 1. New Covenant - written on the heart, a Spiritual kingdom, the Gospel. 2. The Church, Christ, Saints, the Word, Life and Heaven Read 2 Corinthians 4:18 = The OC form becoming obsolete 2 Corinthians 5:16 = The NC way by faith consummating at the Parousia According to the Inspired scriptures, John 19:28 - His earthly ministry. Luke 21:20-22 the Parousia. (All things written must include the 70 weeks of Daniel) Both fulfilled in the first century. Hebrews 1:2 That second coming was in the first century. It's not in our future. !!!!!! Please, check what I'm saying: Matthew 10:23; 16:27-28; 26:63-64 Luke 21:22 Acts 1:11 Romans 13:11; 16:20, 1 Corinthians 7:29, Galatians 5:5 Philippians 4:5 1 Peter 4:7, 4:17 James 5:8-9 Hebrews 10:37 1 John 2:18 Revelation 1:1, 3, 7; 22:7, 10, 12, 20 Surely, the Inspired prophetic writers and Jesus did not get the century of the Parousia wrong! They may have not known the day or the hour, but surely, they did know the generation and which century!!!! They were not confused or lacked discernment and didn't lie! Let me ask you a question. When a wife gets pregnant, and people ask the couple when the child will come, does not the man and woman say, "Oh, in 6 months." And as it gets closer, they say, "Within 5 months. Within 4 months. Etc."? Yes, they do. Because they know the child will come within a certain time frame. But does the wife know the day or the hour the child will come? No. Does the husband know the day or the hour the child will come? No. Does their doctor know the day or the hour the child will come? No. Does any man on earth know the day or the hour the child will come? No. But does the Father in Heaven know? Yes. Therefore, there is no contradiction. Somebody can know, within a certain time frame, when somebody will come, yet not know the day or the hour of his coming. It does not matter if it's within 9 months, or within 40 years. If a man and woman say their child should come in 3 months, but they do not know the day or the hour, I will still believe them. Here's my point! If Jesus said his coming would be within 40 years, but he doesn't know the day or the hour, I still believe him. The Parousia was in the first century, according to these Scriptures, and many more. So, start with these above. I'm not making this stuff up. It's in your own Bible. Check it. My recommendation to all that read this recommendation, purchase and read this book: "BEHIND THE VEIL OF MOSES Piecing Together The Mystery Of The Second Coming" - Brian L. Martin It will point you in the right direction, the correct paradigm and bring you to the Lord even closer, if you can receive it. I would be doing a disservice to the Lord and to you if I did not share this book with you Also, these websites will help wean you off the allure and attraction that misplaced, eschatology imposed on our day for a fulfillment in our future gives. The truth will set you free and the truth is all we can take with us. Jesus is the way the truth and the life. So yes, we believe one can lose their salvation, and we do not believe in once saved always saved, which is a doctrinal innovation that has no foundation in the early church. OSAS was not known for nearly 1700 years, so……. Believing in faith alone does not mean our faith is alone.
