True but some child stars go on to actually process and unpack what they experienced and try to protect others from going through the same thing. Alyson Stoner is a great example (she has a podcast exposing abuse in the industry and is helping work towards legislation to protect kids from being exploited). Even Paris Hilton is using her voice to advocate for victims of child abuse. Jojo is just an egotistical mess who would rather continue the grift bc it pays well

I guess she is an adult now (soooort of the end stages of adolescence) and should be at least starting to make some more insightful choices on her own but maybe not :(

I’m not even sure that is the case. When you are in charge of something like a group of dancers & they are performing something that has your name attached to it you obviously want everything to go as well as possible. Unfortunately, the Siwas didn’t care too much about the kids or anything else aside from their reputations. If I’m not mistaken Jess even said something about the one industry performance they did on the show & how the OMG Pop girls were representing her so they basically better not screw anything up. And as a former instructor/choreographer myself, I completely understand that you want things associated with your name & brand to be good, but the problem with OMG Pop is that Jojo is incredibly self absorbed. She & Jess were only doing that show to make themselves more money & get more airtime. It never was going to be about the kids or inspiring the next generation of pop stars. It was just a money making opportunity for them. They had it drilled into them for years with Abby that “everyone is replaceable” & that’s exactly how they treated the OMG Pop girls. Nothing they ever do will be for anyone else unless Jojo directly benefits in a major way. And she will always put her ego before caring about anyone else, especially younger dancers who aren’t “at her level.” Like I said, she’s extremely self absorbed (I mean, she has a car with her face all over it & if that doesn’t scream egomaniac I don’t know what does.) So I don’t think it’s manipulation or anything other than them wanting to make sure Jojo’s career & reputation isn’t sullied by anything the OMG girls do. It’s unfortunate that those girls had to learn the hard way that a some people in the industry only care about themselves & making themselves more money, even if it’s at the expense of others.
