Exploring the relaxing effects of Kava is fun but what exactly does it do? We asked our Dietitian/ Nutritionist Koach Marlo Mittler what the root is capable of.
To all you people who think kava is an addicting drug or who dont even know what kava is .. it is essential in my culture hence i practise it every weekend as my 'leisure' time, where in my culture we spend a night drinking kava and playing traditional love songs and socialising with fellow friends and family, it has been apart of my culture for thousands of years, and we use 'drinking' kava a way to teach our younger generations not only the importance of kava, but the socialising factor that it has provided our culture with ..koe masi'i faikava tonga au ia lols
Most, if not all pacific island legends whether polynesian, melanesian or micronesian stress the use of Kava to stay on a rare and ceremonial basis, ranging from Chiefly weddings to welcoming of guests from afar. Drink it everyday and it starts to affect you negatively i.e kava face, kidney problems. I have uncles and cousins who drink kava on a daily basis and sometimes I can't tell who is who in the circle because all their faces look like shrivelled raisins.
I'm not a religious man but god bless cannabis, kava, and kratom, true miracles on Earth in the form of 3 beautiful plants. Peace and happiness to all 😊
i love the blonde's comments "you might get addicted to it cause you like it so much" yeah... and i'm addicted to watching youtube... whats her point? i wonder if she thinks people will get high and go around mugging people to feed kava addictions.. or get drunk and cause bar fights and fatalities like alcohol... can't help but picture kava falling into a banned substance category with marijuana and other beneficial organic medicines (where alcohol should be instead) pppsshhh... idiocy and ignorance at it's peak ;)
+FullBoarDaniel What law? They ban whatever they don't like using. Alcohol required an amendment to the constitution. 86th amendment I believe. They did nothing of the sort for any other drug other than their favorite.
That's what people say about coffee or beer... it takes a refined and developed palette. Most Americans are only exposed to sugary sweetened foods, which is a very sad thing.
Zorc Necrophades If it's "SPICY" your most likely drinking fijian/Indian Kava ..I'm Tongan in Tonga our Kava are not spicy..more of a root and "dirt" taste ..it's numbing but great relaxer ing drink
I was showing this to a friend as a conscious alternative to going to bars and drinking in general. She was starting to get interested up until Dr. Phil came in at 1:36 and started talking about the "addictive qualities" of kava. FTW?!?! I recommend taking Debbie Downer out of your clip, she's not helping... Nice video though
I'll never go to that place ever again for the rest of my life. It ruined my relationship with the lady that I love and turned me into something I never was.
I can feel it with as little as 5 grams. If you don't feel any first time, then keep having small amounts each day to lower your tolerance. Or better yet chew the whole root as it works a bit better that way. After a couple of weeks chewing the root you may feel the effects more from drinking it.
Kava sucks as an anxiety treatment! It will relieve your anxiety, but it only last for 30 minutes and when it wears off my anxiety just comes back even stronger.
