Waiting too long to have a biopsy led to stage 3 malignant melanoma for me. PLEASE don’t wait when a spot is suspicious looking or causes concern for you or your doctor. Three surgeries, radiation treatment and two years of treatments with nivolumab, and I am doing well. I Just had what may be my final CT exams. And if clear, I will be able to have the port in my chest/heart removed, and carry on life with a thankful heart. I am SO lucky to have the medical expertise available to me!
Just had this done a few hours ago. It wasn't bad at all. Only took an hour or so and their was no pain due to the local. Glad I didn't wait to have it done.
@@Spenone584Yes mine was also bcc. It was on my forehead above the eye.i was also worried about the procedure but after going through it, it’s really not bad at all. I place it below going to the dentist for anything other than a cleaning. Even afterwards, there’s not much pain or discomfort. Just take some Tylenol and you’ll be good to go. Please let me know how it goes for you.
I had mine today it takes longer in the lab waiting than the whole procedure . 8 stitches and only needed one later thankfully. I’ve had shoulder to forearm removed to the bone for scc so happy I could do mohs on hand so it’s less invasive ! It’s really easy don’t worry if you need this done .
I just had a (Mohs) procedure this week. The Dr. took one sample and came back in an hour and said "good news! No cancer!" My advice? Find a new "Gentle Cure" clinic and request a scan to determine if cancer is, indeed, present. This non-invasive technique is now possible and available. I'm sitting here, four days later, with stitches and maintenance for 1-2 weeks waiting for stitches to self-destruct. No heavy lifting, exercise, etc. for 1-2 weeks, plus who-knows what kind of scar at the end. The Gentle Cure scan is "similar to ultrasound", leaves no scar and shows exactly the location of the cancer, if any. Why I didn't get this is a mystery.
Had my MOHS surgery this past Wednesday and everything went very well. I checked in at the front desk at 8:30 and I was home and in my comfy chair by 10:30 a.m. The only pain occurred when the nurse injected the lidocaine into my forehead but other than that I felt nothing during the actual surgery. Feeling very pleased with my early detection and the success of the entire process. Get those odd looking skin anomalies checked out, people!!! And take very good care!
