I'm a sound recordist for work, and often get asked what a good setup would be for someone looking to get started. I always tell them: Get a quiet mic and a quiet pre-amp and you're 90 percent of the way there. Thanks for the videos, always love these quick bites on terminology.

Long wondered what the reason is for a limiter in equalization just for 60 Hz. You can get 60Hz choke filters for electronic devices that plug in directly to outlets, why not sound?

how does the noise floor setting function on a simple compressor? is that the boundary, above which, the sound is processed, and below which the sound is left alone? or what? anyone? TIA local Ft Wayne question: Do the amish buy/play music gear? also, at times i envy them = totally immune to the cost of owning a car these days. also zero buggy-jacking.
