Thanks! I’ve been an avid surfer and sailor my entire life, but was never able to afford to go to college. If I had gone to college, I would’ve studied either marine biology or oceanography, I’m trying to learn as much about those subjects as I can on my own now! 🙂
sublime teaching methods hats off to all the teachers around the globe, i was very attentive of your lecture the only mistake possibly done was at the less than sign😊
@@dvlogz3666 You would want to study Biological Oceanography then! Or, Marine biology because they are all living organisms. If you were to study the ocean floor or rocks that would be Geological Oceanography, Chemical Oceanography is the chemicals in the ocean and Physical Oceanography (what i want to study) is the study of waves and tides etc. Hope i helped you, I think its great you're interested in the ocean 🤗
Well hi there, sorry I know this is a 3 year old video but I just wanted to say thank you for doing a video on this! Currently a freshman looking to try to get into the USNA so I’m looking at all the different majors they offer, oceanography sounded interesting and yknow what? It is! So thank you!
Loved the video. Just curious, what Marine field would one go into if they wished to help map the ocean floor? I know only a small percentage of our floors are mapped, i just want to know who does that and what course/courses to take to end up in that realm.
Nope! Most of our work is done from boats, either large research vessels for offshore research, or smaller boats for coastal research. Marine biologists can do work via diving, but it's not necessary for oceanography.
