Hmm interesting strategy! I like the idea of this but I don’t know if it was the best move. Now I have no idea if Omen did this because the enemy normally plays mid, which if they do, that’s a good counter strat, but let’s look at the downside, 1) it’s a predictable move since the radius of the smoke covers the center of mid and not actually where they are rushing from, giving the enemy time to do one of two things, A) spam the smoke, knowing he’s there, or b) reposition outside of the smoke, either way omen is dead., Mistake 2) playing far back with a judge: if the smoke was placed at that entrance to mid and b, you could place closer up, getting more value out of the judge and making it a more effective smoke. Mistake 3) not smoking/clearing catwalk: Omen smoked immediately without thinking or checking any other angles which if I watched correctly, he was shot from his left. If a teammate watched that angle or Omen smoked at least one other angle, he probably could have better pulled off this strat!
Real match gunplay is a lot more about crosshair placement and movement than the flicking and tracking skills you use in the range. Look up videos on how to peek and proper crosshair placement. Odds are likely that you're losing fights because the enemy is setting themselves up for an easier shot than you by using better crosshair placement and peeking.
