I've been wearing glasses for 30 years. Why is this the first time I've heard about this? None of my doctors have ever said anything about it!

Hi Han, thanks for reaching out. With new technology and 3D mapping of the eyes, Orthok has become significantly more popular. Hope this gives you another option to wearing glasses. Kind regards, Ezekiel Eyes Team

Thanks for your comment! It would be best to see your Optometrist and have a corneal scan done. Then you can discuss your best options. All the best!

Hi, i've been using this kind of lenses for 4 years now. The thing is i've been using the SAME lenses since then. Do you think using the same lens will cause any trouble?

I just watched the whole video and found the answer to my question thanks. By the way, this is by far the best video on this topic i could find. As a 4 year user i can confirm every single thing this guy says. Thank you so much😀

There is theory that astigmatism is actually not genetic but result of looking down when reading and eyelid pressure. And it happens to children who read a lot and both eyes. Not genetic. But can such lens permanently cure astigmatism same way with more "aggressive" pressure?

I live in middle Europe and Orthokeratology is not available here which sucks!! Doctors are focused mainly on LASIK surgery and that's it. I really wish this would change in future!

@@ezekieleyes4550 Hi Ezekiel, finally I've managed to find an orthakeratologist in my country. I am short-sighted with 0,75 on my left and 1,25 (+ astigmatism) on my right eye. My question is - is it ok to use only one lense, since my left eye is still pretty good? My local orthokereatologist claims that it's not recommended due to "inbalance" as the hard lens can cause discomfort.
@ezekieleyes4550
@ezekieleyes4550 4 года назад
Hi @@degrad9 Thank you for your message. We sometimes do fit/correct only one eye. In your case I would fit both eyes.If by only fitting the right eye I am sure over time your left eye will become more shortsighted and then will need correcting. If you were my child I would correct both eyes now. I hope this helps. Cheers Damon

How many hours do i need to wear minimum?
@ezekieleyes4550
@ezekieleyes4550 4 года назад
Thanks for your question, Raam TG. Depending on the rigidity or 'stiffness' of your cornea, you need to wear the lenses for a minimum of 6-7 hours. You could try wearing them for shorter duration. However, it may not correct your eyesight enough. And it can wear off faster.

@ezekieleyes4550
@ezekieleyes4550 4 года назад
Hi Anna, thanks for your question. OrthoK is designed to mold the shape of your eye. The lenses are worn most nights. OrthoK does reduce the deterioration of the eyes over time (i.e. less myopia). However, if you cease wearing your lenses, your eyes will go back to normal. Thanks again!

Is it good for a person who has -2.75 (both eyes) power with astigmatism on one eye?
@ezekieleyes4550
@ezekieleyes4550 4 года назад
Hi Krishna, OrthoK might be an option. However, we recommend having an appointment with your Optometrist/Ophthalmologist. They can get a detailed map of the shape of the cornea (known as topography). Hope this helps, Ezekiel Eyes Team

@ezekieleyes4550
@ezekieleyes4550 4 года назад
Hi Lupe, thank you for your comment. We recommend having an eye examination. You can get a map of the front of the eye (i.e. cornea). This helps your optometrist to see if you may be eligible for OrthoK. Best, Ezekiel Eyes Team

Which is better. Ortho-k or Lasik?
@ezekieleyes4550
@ezekieleyes4550 4 года назад
Hi Mr Simsimi, Lasik is a one-off solution. If your eyes change, the Lasik may need to be re-done again. If you are myopic, Orthok can help slow down changes. Both options allow you more freedom during the day without glasses. Hope this helps, Ezekiel Eyes Team

Is it permanent after some days?
@ezekieleyes4550
@ezekieleyes4550 4 года назад
Most people need to wear the lenses every night. Occaisonally, some people can wear them every second or third night. It depends on the shape of their eyes and the strength of their prescription. OrthoK doesn't permanently re-shape the eyes. This is a good thing because unlike laser vision correction, OrthoK doesn't damage the sensitive nerves of the eyes.
