would an idea where I can get my hands on Power BI Report Server Jan 2021 or before? I no longer can publish reports with newer versions, the last one to work for me is Jan 2021 or before.
What kind of data limitations you are talking about? Did you mean how much data you can load in a file? Also, please do check this link if you haven’t: powerbi.microsoft.com/en-us/blog/power-bi-report-server-may-2022-feature-summary/
Thanks, Anushya for your comment. However, I am not getting exactly what you are trying to achieve here. Are you working with on-premise Power BI? If yes, then could you please explain it more like what is the scenario and what is your target audience etc. I am looking forward to hearing from you soon! Great video! A question to Power BI gurus please. I haven’t used Power BI Service (cloud) yet, and I wonder if the PBIX files created by Power BI Report Server are compatible with Power BI Cloud? Can my hundreds of dashboards created with Power BI Report Server be migrated without too much effort to Power BI Cloud?
Yes, the PBIX files created by Power BI Report Server are compatible with Power BI Cloud. This means that you can migrate your dashboards from Power BI Report Server to Power BI Cloud without too much effort. There are several methods for migrating your Power BI reports from Power BI Report Server to Power BI Cloud, depending on your specific needs and requirements. Here are a few options to consider: 1) Publish your reports to Power BI Cloud: You can open your PBIX files in Power BI Desktop and publish them directly to Power BI Cloud. This will migrate your reports to the cloud, where you can access them from anywhere and share them with others. 2) Export and import PBIX files: You can also export your PBIX files from Power BI Report Server and import them into Power BI Desktop. From there, you can publish them to Power BI Cloud. This method is useful if you need to make changes to your reports before publishing them to the cloud. 3) Use the Power BI REST APIs: If you have a large number of reports to migrate, you can use the Power BI REST APIs to automate the process. This method requires some development work, but it can save a lot of time if you have a lot of reports to migrate. Regardless of which method you choose, there are some differences between Power BI Report Server and Power BI Cloud that you should be aware of. For example, some features may not be available in Power BI Cloud, or you may need to adjust your security settings to match the cloud environment. However, with some planning and testing, you should be able to migrate your reports from Power BI Report Server to Power BI Cloud without too much difficulty.
