Thank you all for helping me spread the hobby & profession of repair to as many people as possible. I'm honored & humbled to see so many people taking an interest in the craft I made my livelihood.
Shame that I can't go to store. rossmanngroup. com because Cloudflare banned me for some reason even though I don't have such problem on other cf-protected sites. //edit: I am from Poland and had similar issues with some sites that don't use cloudflare but with some overzelous admins who banned Polish IPs. Please look into this.
Most if not every hack to the forum that occurred was from Poland/Russia, so until the new site is up I just blocked it all. 99% of the business is new york, 1% is selling small items to the rest of the U.S., and 0.000001 is international... 0.00001% of the business, but 99% of the hacks didn't make sense.
This was one of the most insightful repairs I've seen. As always, I learned something! Also, given how many hundreds of hours (I might be underestimating, I still haven't gotten through it all yet) of repair videos you've generously donated your invaluable time to making for the low, low cost of free, us viewers should be the ones thanking you. Thank you so much. Use the Amazon affiliate links in the description! Even if you don't buy the thing you click on, but buy something else completely unrelated, it still helps the channel! Click on a Louis link every time you buy something on Amazon!
Never done any kind of board work in my life, my father has on the side though. Thanks for providing hours of interesting listening material, really enjoy watching your content
"...everything else is going to nicely flow into place... ...you'll see, it's going to be beautiful..." I couldn't help but think, unless it flies off and gets sucked up the vent.
Normally one would just use propanol and some swabs to remove the flux. In this case I think we can just tilt the finished macbook to the side and pour it out.
that's the magic of having the solder bubble actually at the tip.. lmao clean the tip of the bigger one you were using, your solder bubble kept wrapping around to the left side of your tip and prevented you from cleaning it the way you wanted. haha thankfully your micro was clean :)
This check with the USB tester is only useful for devices that CHARGE through a USB socket, You can't perform this test on an average PC laptop with a proprietary charge connector. Some may be confused by this, I know its mac and you mainly talk about mac but LOTS of PC users watch you too. Thnaks for some great info.
I would stop by on my trip to Worcester, MA in August, but that's quite a bit away from I-95, but maybe I can Talk the Mrs into doing some sight-seeing in NYC
Hey Louis. I tried looking for your video on the components you use in your audio system, because the DAC you use looks interesting to me. It seems you've deleted the video though or something, because I can't find it. What DAC do you use?
Hi Louis. I am following along with your videos and they are amazing. Thank you so much for your content. I just do not know where I can find the . Brd files. I have found a few but no more than 10.... please advise me. Thank you
I got a used microscope for about $45 it's a nikon as well... Works perfect though. You folks that are just starting out should check out some of the online auctions some of the universities hold. They get rid of their equipment almost dirt cheap and some of it they have to throw away. You might be able to find a $1000 microscope for pennies on the dollar. Also remember you don't need something that is going to scope down to the size of a blood cell just something along the lines of maybe 30 - 40 times magnification.
I don't know if this is relevant or could help with your recordings of the schematic software but if you have the Windows option too make things appear bigger by a certain percentage I've noticed it makes the mouse show up in the wrong place on obs. The fix is lowering the resolution to the monitor instead of making things appear bigger in Windows.
Hi Louis rossmann!! I'm from bradenton beach and im new in this theme of fixing hardware. But i havent the resourses , so do you know a chain of stores where I can find repair supplies? Like flux or Thermal paste. Thanks you very much!!I admire you a lot
So I was listening to your "old" vlog stile videos and in one of them you mention how you have relay vivid memory's from early in your life. I was just curious if your concussion has effected them at all. Thanks if you respond
I get my dead macbook air repaired by apple service centre they just disconnected every cables from logic board and checked it started working, but now after 2 weeks its not charging, but working on battery as battery is not fully drained, and even working on ac power after disconnecting the battery plug, so is it safe to use ( macbook air 2015) directly on ac power?
That bit of damage should have been hard to miss and no other brand has this issue so repetitively regardless of the users. It is like the bodies of the macbooks are like screen doors so every droplet of moisture gets in.
I have a question, I build my Brand spanking New computer today, The case is a Lian Li Mid-Tower Chassis, it has a ASRock B450M PRO4 AM4, Pny Cs900 480GB SSD, Seasonic S12lll 550W power supply with a AMD Ryzen 5 2600. I got almost all the part but the ram , I installed all the cords everything single thing that was needed to be plugged into a mother, and for some reason it's power cycling, and when I found the problem, it was the CPU connecter that is plugged into the top-Left of the board and when I take it out the pc stops power cycling, is it because I have no ram because I need help!!
11:12 PP3V3S4 doesn't go directly to the CPU, but couldn't the short involve a trace that does go to the CPU? e.g., a bridge created by a previous repair attempt. I suppose the probability is low, and the time required to check all those CPU lines for voltage before turning up the power supply would be enough to repair the next board. Have I answered my own question?
Someone brought a A1707 Macbook Pro to me with a broken screen. Does anyone know if it is possible or practical to replace only the LCD and not the whole lid? They are eBay for half of what the lid costs, but I can't find anyone even discussing separating the glass and LCD from the lid. Based on the part it looks no more difficult than an iPad.
Louis.I am thinking about buying an 2012 mbp with a dead motherboard for 120$(500 RON,cause i am from romania);to fix it,and then selling it and make profit.Any advice on this? Also, how much is the shipping tax,if i buy parts from your site and i want them shipped in romania where i live?Thank you in advance.
He is a person that is specialized more in apple product repairs... meaning he may have ideas on how to fix general graphics cards, but without proper documentation/software to support it, it's absolutely not worth his time, as such a video would take a few days to produce. And if you were thinking of fixing your integrated apple gpu, then he made a video on that a while ago iirc.
Louis: For hobby purposes I cannot justify the microscope model that you currently use. The 'economy' version that you mention above ( CHEAP alternative microscope: amzn.to/2rTlHbj) however would be just within my budget - better still if I could get a pre-owned one! Anyway, the question I have is: does the economy version have the option for an LED light ring?
Paul Daniels, either the smartest or dumbest man on the planet, depending on wether or not the current system map is accurate. God bless Paul Daniels....
Hi Louise , actually i have an Iphone X woth a very small crack at the corner back, and once it dropped in an empty bathtub and caught water, now it works good and rings and charges and everything is good but screen is black and not responsive. The issue is I’m staying in Dubai and I’m afraid of givning it to anybody cause simply I don’t know anyone like you. Of course taking it to apple store costs me 600 $ to get me another one. They won’t fix the screen because of the crack at the back and honestly that is alot of money for me . What would you advice me to do and how to tix , i can open it and do whatever you suggest. But please help
LOL! "A popular story in the United States has unfolded in recent years: an infinitely simple, yet big-mouthed, self-conscious, 31-year-old New York expert, Louis Rossmann, has been angry with Apple."
@@gordonrichardson2972 even more:"it seems that the west-headed seven-headed dragon is unable to defeat the Eastern Coast King" LOL)) the poetry, Louis is a hero defeating seven-headed dragon))))
Sir, this is not what I subsribed for! Where is the roflcopter?

After watching too many Louis's videos: "Hey baby, how about I inject some voltage into your PP3v3_S4 and we see what gets hot? I got this thermal camera..."
To defend the crappy Chinese software: I just just noticed that the top number in the thermal view shows just the maximum the color gradient is clamped to. The actual maximum temperature is displayed in the red bar, which goes up to around 100 °C.
So, figure you guys have no love lost with Mac so, I need help getting into an ipad 4 a1460 and Mac refuses to help because I am a 3rd owner of this device. The first was Hastings before their firesale and closing of all stores in Albuquerque. The second owner is my friend who bought it 4 years ago and never updated the login info as well as lost the info that was scribbled on a card... And he handed it off to me because "I am good with computers and all that" for a Christmas gift 2 years ago and Ive just about had it. Mac refuses to help and I have no problems sending this thing to silicone hell because of how useless it is.
I have done the apple music reset a few times to no avail. Dms are fine if it is some industry crap you don't wanting getting into pirates hands or something but seriously I am legit on this and its pissing me off.
