+atul sharma nas- network attached storage means u can attach storage in your network ( lan network ) you will provide a ip to the nas device so ur lan user can access the device internally, u can also map nas as a map network drive and u can also give public ip to that nas device so u can access device from outside there is no fibre cable to use for nas storage u just attach ur nas storage via switch depend on ur requirement san : storage area network means your server is not directly connect with the device in this area type u use hba card and fibre cable to attach the storage The server can only access data on the devices, which are directly attached to it its mainly for server storage , you can create virtual disk storage pool , raid implementation lots of feature in san so u have to read for more info ......
