I saw a video from you about Depression signs. One of my friends shows almost all of the signs you showed, so I shared this video to them. They told me they have depression(diagnosed by doctor) and they're currently getting treatment. Thanks to your video my friend is already doing better, thank you so much!

Tbh these bullshtty personality tests kinda helped me to find out about my illness.. well I didn't do it and straight up say I have it no no .. But I felt like there is definitely something wrong with my body.. obviously because these symptoms positive and negative weren't quite normal.. I did a few test and they all said something with schizo.. like svhizoaffective or whatever.. so I went to see a psychologist who had been specified for these kinda illnesses & after about 1 year including being in a psychiatry I finally got the diagnose officially .. so these tests can somewhat help you? But yea.. god no they don't do any diagnosis & people who actually believe those things are..well not the sharpest tools imo

I have schizophrenia- trust me it's not fun- The the hallucinations were probably the worst part especially when they can sometimes sound as your loved ones, what's usually the voices say some pretty negative things and when they're imitating someone you know it's kind of scary when you see them the next time- and it's especially scary when you're questioning if that person is a hallucination or not. There's also many things that can trigger my schizophrenia to get worse such as Windows because I'll see a lot of stuff within the windows- or when someone's laughing I assume its about me and I become paranoid that people are out to get me. Now I don't watch TV so i can't relate to the TV factor. As for the cringy 9 year old that say "i want schizophrenia" or "i have schizophrenia" i would like them to try haven't it for a day.

It breaks my heart that people separate family members after their psychotic breaks. Maybe I’m ignorant to the experience that you or my family memebers had but I know my mother who is schizophrenic is still herself. Regardless of how different she is now she is still herself. I refuse to believe that they are two separate identities, maybe it’s my bias because I love my mom but I know from stories she’s always had these extreme anxieties and the real difference in her came from being hospitalized and medicated….. not from her mental illness. Just my interpretation, anyone can feel free to challenge it.

I told my psychiatrist about it and she encouraged me to take my meds even on small doses for maintenance. My family and I had emotional times when I was having difficulty but they were there for me. I was diagnosed with schizophrenia about 7 months ago, and yeah these are all the things that have been happening to me. It affected my college life too. And having a toxic relationship just made it worse. But now, I'm getting better. I escaped from that toxic relationship, I regularly see my therapist and I even feel better now that I met this guy who constantly makes me feel happy. Everyone deserves happiness, you'll find your own happiness in so many ways. Just don't ever give up.

This video was helpful to understand why DID is so often misdiagnosed with schizophrenia. It must be so difficult for someone who doesn't live with alters to think they're "real". People often mistaken the alters for "hallucinations" since they're not physical. The differences between voices and alters "speaking in your mind" is : Alters don't vanish through time. When they start to exist, they develop their own personnality. Alters can control the body of the person and speak to you as any normal person would do. (PS: there are exceptions, and there are also alters that are not willing to speak to other people). Alters can control the body by a process called "switching". Alters have their own will, their own desires. They also have their own memory in common DID (In an OSDD-1B, alters live together at the same time, and usually share the same memory of facts, yet, they don't feel the same way those memories). Alters can live in an innerworld inside the common mind which is certainly not physical, but certainly not an hallucination. People with DID (or osdd) are aware it only exists in their brain. It's useful for communication between the alters, and only communication between the alters can lead to some synergy. It's not really an "imaginary world". The system (=all alters together) use its imagination to create the innerworld, imagination is the tool, not the product ^^. When someone imagine a world for fun, it vanishes through time and its an imaginary world. When someone creates an innerworld for life, it doesn't vanish, it can be transformed at will but it's sometimes difficult to modify it completely since it is "a part of your mind". Singlets (normal people with only one person inside on body ^^) can also create an innerworld. It can be used for meditation, for exemple. Young systems however tend to create an innerworld without any idea of what they're doing, because it's useful for inner-communication. In most of DID cases, DID appeard during the childhood, facing a traumatic event. When the child's personality is so fragile it can break into pieces, or when a child thinks "i can't be living this, I wish it was someone else" or when a child's personality is so broken that an other personnality has to exist. In most of cases, DID exist to protects the brain from being totally broken. Like "I can't face it alone" so "We're facing it together" in a way. I say "in most of cases" because some systems starts from "nothing" or "apparently nothing", some events can be traumatic for a mentally fragile child when you think these events shouldnt be traumatic at all ; and sometimes, it can also be "imaginary friends" becoming something more serious. I have talked to many systems, most of them faced traumatic events, but some did't, and feel rejected by the community so I like to speak for them ^^ Mental multiplicity is a complexe subject. Since it's not something "visible" for other people's eyes, and since it's so easy to think people "only imagine sharing their life with other people", it's common for systems to be insulted, or to meet people faking DID, or to suffer from being mis-diagnosed. Imagine meeting a psychologist who thinks you have schizophrenia, but it's not, and you take pills for years that you don't need. That's what many people I've met (in forums or helping facebook groups ) had to live. Some can live in an psychitric hospital before learning it wasn't helpful. Some just take pills when they's need to go to hospitals (mostly to treat amnesia problems, or traumas suffering) Loosing your memory while some other alter switch is difficult. Not being able to communicate with your alters is difficult too. And when you take pills to "avoid hearing voices" thinking it's schizophrenia when it's not, and when these "voices" are "parts of your mind".... you can easily destroy yourself. That's why I'm posting a soooo long comment under this video. Schizophrenia symtoms can look like DID symtoms. If you think you have schizophrenia, please ask your psychologist about DID. You have many chances to still be a schizophrene, but in case you have DID, learning it as soon as possible is better for your health. Our experience : I grew up 11 years with people in my head, I never saw a psychologist cause I was afraid of it. It took us beween 2009 and 2017 to find our peace of mind, fighting only by ourselves, only for ourselves. Now we are living in some "harmonic system", we still have problems, but at least we never have been misdiagnosed. I used to call myself "schizophrene" when I was a teenager because I didn't know what Schizophrenia really is, and didn't know what my "inner family" was either.... Meeting people having DID made us think we can have OSDD1B. We'll see for the 1st time a psychologit on 15th september. I've learned a lot about DID, but I still have to find what we are. Except of being a "mental family finally working together for a common happiness" I really don't know if we faced a trauma. Some trauma helped developping our multiplicity but there were " inner voices" before the trauma occured. (My parents divorced when the body was only 1 year old, and our mother was quite violent, so our "original alter" might have suffered from things which are not in our memory. Only psychology can help us, I think.) I don't know what exactly we are, but I know we all want to help other people living with mental multiplicity (regardless of if it's DID or something else). I hope my comment can help people distinguish Schizophrenia from DID, since symtoms of "hearing voices" or "bad sleep" or "loss of interest" or "lack of concentration" are shared by both of theses mental issues. It's so easy to mistaken the two. And it's easyer with people facing lot of amnesia since they can be unaware of having people sharing their body and mind. Hope it helps. Thank you for this video ! I was wishing to see something short but detailed about schizophrenia to be able to understand why so many of systems are misdiagnosed with it ^^

I have schizophrenia (paranoid) and am friends with several psychologists, one of my Mum's friends is formally diagnosed with DID. I feel the two are somewhat different. While some symptoms may overlap, they are are very different illnesses. For starters, you have to be over 30 generally to acquire a formal diagnosis of DID, for schizophrenia, you can get a diagnosis of it over 18 (or developing schizophrenia diagnosis if you are under 18). separate assessed In schizophrenia, there are certain positive and negative symptoms that you must at least have for extended periods of time, you must also at least have psychosis which overlaps with required positive symptoms. Positive being those such as hallucinations and delusions, negative being depression and anxiety. In other words, you must have hallucinations and delusions to be diagnosed, due to it being the psychosis part. For paranoid schizophrenia (the most common psychotic disorder), you would need paranoia and possibly disorganised speech. If you had bad sleep, loss of concentration, loss of interests and hearing voices only, you would not be diagnosed with schizophrenia. This is because you MUST have delusions to be diagnosed with schizophrenia; you cannot have psychosis or any other psychotic disorder without the delusions. They delusions do not have to be 24/7, but they must be present. However, DID generally does not have delusions, so if you had hearing voices, delusions and loss of concentration, it is more likely schizophrenia. For schizophrenia, the most common things experienced will be delusions and hallucinations. Hallucinations can go into phases of remission on their own, and worsen at any point in time. Auditory hallucinations tend not to be that consistent, and can be things like hissing, music, clapping or unintelligible voices (basically there are a lot of things that can manifest) However, with schizophrenia, people commonly have more than one type of hallucination as there are auditory (hearing things), visual (seeing things), olfactory (smelling things that aren't there), gustatory (tasting things that aren't there) and tactile (feeling things that aren't there). So if you are only hearing voices in your head, then it may be DID. Hallucinations are a lot of the times unpleasant too, where they will be horrible things. Some people with schizophrenia may have disorganised speech that can vary from just changing the topic they're speaking about a lot, to constantly speaking in an unintelligible state that may have their own made up words in it, known as "word salad" or "word vomit" Someone with schizophrenia may have a consistent voice/s in their head, but it would be different to an alter most likely; be unpredictable and less like another person, but may reflect on the person's mental state instead and provide constant commentary on their mental state. I.e, you are feeling not confident, so this voice in your head tells you how disgusting and pathetic you are. Schizophrenia on it's own rarely has memory loss, as that's dissociation. DID has memory loss, as the switches occur when the person dissociates, and they will be unable to personally recollect what their alter did unless able to communicate with them. So if you are having a lot of memory loss and dissociation, you may have DID. Though even anxiety can cause memory loss sometimes. Confused thoughts can be a symptom of both DID and schizophrenia. Then of course DID and schizophrenia both have symptoms that put them at risk of being diagnosed with BPD instead, and vice versa. There's also other psychotic disorders that may have overlaps, but generally, you can tell between psychotic disorders and DID. *I say schizophrenia in the comment, but the points can stand for other psychotic disorders and psychosis itself. There's probably far more I missed, but tldr: schizophrenia and DID generally have a lot of differences in their symptoms, as well as how they are diagnosed.

I’m seeing therapy right now, and my friends and doctors believe I have schizophrenia. It’s really upsetting for me, as it would be for anyone, as very recently I have begun to shorten my attention span. My ability to read and write has become a task for me, and the person I love the most, though they’re behaving as they normally would, feel like they are testing my patience and it’s a task to speak to them. I’m usually having auditorial conversations with myself whereas voices answer back and so much more. It’s scary and I hope that anyone else suffering besides me also gets the help they need to tackle their problem.

Please always remember that schizophrenia has to be diagnosticated. You that saw the video and believe that you have schizophrenia, I can tell you that you can rest easy. You see all humans can hear, smell and see things that are not there, it has to do with the memory of our senses . Schizophrenia is more intense, you don't have to worry because you feel the same everybody else does. I could try to explain you how it feels because I experience schizophrenia through drugs, but it's something that it's only understanded when you live it. I'm saying this because if I haven't experienced schizophrenia I would believe that I have at the very least some minor type of schizophrenia and that's not true.

Not every schizophrenic works this way. I struggle a lot more with negative symptoms than positive. I figured out how to stop delusions when it starts to form with the help of my therapist. If it was easier for me, that doesnt mean its easy for any other schizophrenic. On the note of me struggling more with negative symptoms, i find it difficult to do alot of the things you listed and other ways to help me as well. Sure i can say i do want to better myself by doing these things, and WANT to take these steps, its incredibly difficult. I have so low motivation to do anything just because i dont feel like doing it even tho im begging with myself to do it. Healthier meals takes more work in preparation, something a little more unhealthy, but easier to make, gives me tiny steps to help me get to a healthier goal. Another BIG thing i have problems with is engaging with things or hobbies i like, however, i dont understand, myself, as towhy it is that way for me. One of my favorite games are splatoon 2 and 3. I love playing even though i suck, i actually want to play it, i love it. I just cant get myself to do thibgs that i like when i have not lost interest in them at all. It happens with visual arts, my passion throughout life and now, yet i cant get myself to do it. I could give my take on your advice that helped you (if you want me to), just based upon my schizophrenia.. but it would just be tedious because i would bring up the same things point of how i just cant get myself to do it. i dont know how to combat this sypmtom because i dont understand how it is happening to me
