Well if you remember in a previous episode Sylphie gave Rudeus her consent to have a concubine to have kids since she's an elf.

Sylphy already said around the time they got married I think, that she's cool if he takes other wives. Granted it might have sounded like jest to Rudeus but I think she's down bad for him

Rudy was stuck in that room and not eating for over a week and Roxy was worried that he wouldn't be able to get out on his own because she remembered how he couldn't leave the house as a kid without her pushing him forward. She wasn't willing to leave him in that state. I still think sleeping with him wasn't a good choice, but it was the only choice she was presented with after talking with the group. Even then, she still tried to just invite him out first instead. Also the group couldn't take the fast way home without Rudy's help. And he definitely couldn't travel in his depressed state.

Sylphie was prepared for the idea of Rudy being involved with other women from the rip. Also a really cool continuity bit, in season 1 Roxy describes to a T exactly what her ideal love scenario would be and thats exactly what played out in the labyrinth.

Pay EXTRA close attention to how the Man-God's advice has affected Rudeus's decision making. It seems like Man-God is doing his darndest to keep Rudeus and Roxy apart. His advice to find the girl who gave him his Foresight Eye in the Demon Continent caused them to pass right by each other in the city multiple times. Rudy would have been on the beach with Ruijerd and Eris if he hadn't left to find her, and Roxy would have seen him and helped them get home. THEN the Man-God tells him to not go save Zenith right when Roxy was trapped in the labyrinth and about to die. If he hadn't gone, Roxy would have died. It's all just seems like his cryptic advice is designed to keep Rudy and Roxy from meeting each other. Very suspicious if you ask me, but I can't figure out why Man-God wouldn't want that to happen.

I got you my man, in the novels they go way more into the reasonings of a lot of this. It’s not the act of sex or cheating that Roxy was trying to do with rudues. Yes they did both but it was what she and the others talked about that he needed the intimacy of love making to help him through the trauma of what happened. The others had considered hiring a prostitute but elinalise said it couldn’t be a stranger, cause sex without emotions or love wouldn’t help. She couldn’t do it cause she saw him as a son and felt it would betray her partner. She basically tried to push Roxy to do it, she also didn’t tell rudues to marry her but she did push the idea by telling him that she was pregnant( she’s not) it was just to make him choose to either get serious or make a decision. In the end he decided he wanted to marry her

Well, yeah, Rudeus does try to stick to what's left of his loyalty. He didn't want to further break his promise with Sylphy. Honestly, considering he managed to not sleep with Elinalise, it shows he would've been fine in a normal situation (they both have a huge libido). But Rudeus was just so broken and Roxy was special. He had always harbored feelings for her (and had worshipped her all his life). In the light novel, even after admitting he loves her he tries to cling to his loyalty, Elinalise has to trick him a little to change his mind. The conclusion comes from a combination of love and wanting to take responsibility. Some may dislike that, but in my opinion it shows him taking the mature route (ie: "I effed up, I have to take responsibility. Plus, I want Roxy to be happy.").

It's so simple... We can say and think what we want but sex allows us to momentarily forget many of our problems (family, children, debt, unemployment etc). And Roxi knows this very well, especially from her own experience - you may have noticed that this wasn't the first time for her (Roxi wasn't a virgin). As they say, experience and wisdom come with age, and this is no deception, since Sylphiette has known since she was a child how Rudeus feels about Roxi.

This part feels very different in the light novel. Cheating is cheating, but the anime messed up the context. At the time, Rudeus involuntarily puked everything he ate. Every time he tried to sleep he would relive Pauls death and wake up. Everyone tried talking to him but he was dazed. They couldn't return to to the teleporter without his aid (there was a magical sandstorm blocking the way only he could disperse). They were stuck in Rapan and Rudeus was slowly starving to death. The party met and tried to think how to help him and it was Geese who came up with the idea of booze and women. Roxy didn't even get what they meant at first. Then Roxy found out Rudeus was married. She was shocked, ashamed and angry (because no one bothered to tell her), but kept her thoughts to herself. Anyway, Elinalise wouldn't do it, so the party decided to wait (since they thought Rudeus was strong). But Roxy knew Rudeus better so she decided to act on her own (since in her mind someone needed to save him. She was so worried she event tried to convince Elinalise to do it). There was no straddling either, haha. Rudeus just felt Roxy's hug was so, so soothing he couldn't stop himself (well, she did tell him it was ok to do it).

Mushoku Tensei reactions are the best, haha. Plus the light novel's volume 12 (Teleporter labyrinth arc) has some of the best most complex drama in the series. It's a whole maelstrom of emotions, haha.

Steph it seems it happened ‘soon’ in the anime but in the light novel Rudy was locked in his room for nearly a month, with Roxy and others trying to cheer him up that whole time but he never left, never even ate food. They quite literally needed him out of his depression to get home as well as he’s the only one who can stop the sandstorm and chant the spell at the teleportation circle. So Elinalise actually pushed Roxy into doing this, because if not Geese was gonna grab a prostitute to do it instead. Elinalise also lied to Rudy and said Roxy was pregnant to push him to marry him, when he was against it.

A bit of cut content but the whole Roxy sleeping with Rudy was not her idea, it was something that Elinalise, Geese and Talhand talked about because they needed him to get home, and he was way more depressed in the novel. Elinalise also lied telling Rudy that Roxy was pregnant because she knew he’d take responsibility.

I don't understand about these things, but I know for sure she had her share of problems to deal with. Altough I felt so disgusted to touch her, I couldn't deny her, worried about her mental health.
