I think that you should’ve included RCT2, especially OpenRCT2. Out of all the coaster games that I’ve played, OpenRCT2 has the highest effort to reward ratio in my opinion. Basically meaning that because of how RCT is designed, you don’t have to spend hours to make a building look nice. It also has an extraordinary amount of freedom, probably the most freedom when it comes to unique coaster designs due to OpenRCT2. It may just be some nostalgia talking, but OpenRCT2 is easily the best coaster game that I’ve played, although every game has its advantages and disadvantages over it
RCT2 says hello, did you forget me? RCT2 does have user created scenery and rides that you can add. Even more so since the implementation of OPEN RCT2. RCT2 is my favorite of the RCT series.
Two of my favorite coaster games are Ultimate coaster 2 which is similar to No Limits 2 and the Roblox game Theme Park Tycoon 2 which is a tycoon style game and also parks near you won't affect the amount of guest you get your park size will determine how many guest you get so check out these 2 games and see what you think.
I think it is sad that you don't mention the original RCT's though. Without them, the genre wouldn't really exist. Well, outside of Sim Coaster and Ultimate Ride... lol
Awesome video CF! My favorite coaster game is Planet Coaster on PC. I've played that game a lot with 370 hours so far, most of the time spent building up my third park in the game. I also really love NL2. I got a knack for ultra realistic design and architecture when it comes to roller coasters and amusement parks, and I'm damn good at it too! :)
Its not meant to be a game. Its meant to be a tool for parks and manufacturers to show off coasters. If they made a standalone game for that, they would have to do a hell of a lot of optimization, and it would be hella fun.
RCT3 Platinum was my first ever video game. I remember coming home from pre-school and sitting on my dad's lap while he played, and ocassionally I would take a stab at the game. I have a ton of nostalgia for RCT3, and with Complete Edition fixing the terrible engine issues like uncapping the memory instead of just 2GB like the original, the game is just so nostalgic and has hella custom content to be added. Planet Coaster might be my favorite but only if it was better optimized, and if I feel like building roller coasters to experience, No Limits 2 is great for that, especially with VR. Parkitect is also awesome and feels like the true successor to the isometric RCT games. My favorite coaster game really comes down to how I feel on a given day.
I only play TPT2 and sometimes planet coaster TPT2 is my favourite honestly because it’s so fun and excellently updated with load of rides and rollercoasters . Btw it’s in Roblox if you want to know The only problem is that you can only have about 100-200 guests at time when you have a huge park but then you can make short queues It’s also really easy to cheat and have money parks. So then you can just make a park dedicated to just rollercoaster with nobody riding it
Yes, TPT2 is amazing, it's the only one I've played but it's good enough for me. With the game passes, I'd say its quickly making it's way up to planco standards. I've honestly played way too much and have about 20 parks. It's so underrated
yeah i love TPT2 we can build great coasters, or a great park overall. Or even build a mountains, villages, castles, landscapes, even giant dragons or other characters. They turns out very cool. Its about creativities.
yeah imo tpt2 is awful for actually managing a theme park, but for ease of use and actually building it easily beats out planet coaster. its the plot size mainly which makes it so that only really making 1 or 2 areas of a theme park per plot is feasible without starting to cram stuff and make ur park into an unnatural square, but the coaster builder while flawed can be mastered to create extremely smooth coasters, much better than planet coaster which leaves you stuck with its awkward janking system despite the fact that coaster builder is, if the issue was fixed, much better than TPT2s. making scenery is extremely easy and you can use any of the built in primitives to make your own if you know what your doing, it makes it very attractive to people who dont want to learn blender for things like no limits or the TMTK for planet coaster
I've only played TPT2 on roblox and I think because of that it is really underrated but it is an extremely incredible game and Den_S (the creator) adds updates every month (usually a new coaster type or build mode) and its quickly shaping up to be on par with planco, I dont know if it could ever get there due to the limitations of roblox but he is pushing the boundaries. Honestly, each (newer) model is so realistic. I've played it way too much and have about 20 parks 😂, currently in the process of recreating home park, Paultons Park
nice i have played RCT4 mobile and RCT touch because they are free and one day one of my friends tell me there is such game in roblox, I just immediately open a roblox account and try that game. It's my favourite too. Although i dont think it is better than planet coaster, it is free to play and even those robux to buy game passes we can have other ways to get instead of paying ourselves (through build battles and challenges). And the theme park tycoon 2 community is quite good also.
tpt2 is great ive been playing it for about 7 years now! I love how simplistic it is gameplay wise, it creates a sandbox without being sandbox. Also for some reason I really like building from a character perspective instead of floating about personally I really dislike the new models because theyre too detailed in comparison, the game has an artstyle which its no longer sticking too
About a year ago I got planet coaster and I really wish I looked into it more because I can’t make a smooth coaster no matter how long it takes and what techniques I use I really wish I got no limits 2😭 even ultimate coaster 2 has smoother transitions
I honestly haven't played many, but I know that it depends what you want. If you want something that's strictly a simulator, then NL2. If you want a park builder, then RCT or PlanCo.
Biggest problem in planet coaster is that the roller coaster builder relies on sliders for angles. I wanna type that shit in and get what I actually want. All my coasters end up a hair off because of that shit.
Is there a game like No Limits that's has an easier build/construction design? I found it to be way too difficult for me to use in the demo and it seemed like it would require hours upon hours in order to understand how to actually build a roller coaster. I just want a realistic roller coaster creation/simulator with good graphics but that's easy to design. Thanks!
Ive only played Planet Coaster and Theme Park Tycoon 2 from Roblox (if you've never heard of it you should play it if you're a fan of these type of games like me, its free on Roblox). Anyways, I personally have countless hours in TPT2 while I only have around 10 in Planet Coaster. I find it very easy to create a theme park in TPT2 while in planet coaster its more complicated, and allows you to have more options. Personally, I like TPT2 more but I can see the appeal of Planet Coaster. I think you definitely should've put TPT2 in this video though. :p
Ive only played rct1-rct4, a couple other rct mobile games, ultimate coaster 1-2, and planet coaster (i also used to play theme park tycoon 2 on roblox). I think my favorite is planet coaster just because of the freedom you have with building coasters, sometimes i just build roller coasters by themselves instead of adding them to a park
Yep I played tons of open rct2 with cs and even vanilla as a kid, but I’ve gotten in to this recently with my kids and I love how you can go from super basic to advanced with the upgrades. My only beef is that the disable collisions doesn’t allow the path, fences, and walls to be built off grid.
Pls try Theme Parc Tycoon 2 in Roblox! It is way to good for a Roblox game and has a coaster builder similiar to Planet Coaster... but bettrr because of an heartline option... This game is so underrated so everyone who sees this should try it!
My favorite games from your list in Order are: Planet Coaster Rollercoaster Tycoon : Complete edition Parkitect No Limits 2 My favorite thing about them is that they all have a sandbox mode that lets you use unlimited funds.
I'm a sucker for OpenRCT2. there is no week I wouldn't play at least a few hours. before I knew about it I just played with RCT1 and 2. all time favorite games for me. I just love everything in it. the challenges, tetrising in the rides, scenery, building custom rides and all the tiny goofs like the ducks and balloon popping
The background video is so unrelated to what you're talking about. Explaining that Parkitect has trash system but showing us you planting trees, Explaining that No Limits has a very good roller coaster building, but showing only 1st person view of a roller coaster ride.....
I feel like you should have at least left Rollercoaster tycoon 2. If you use the OPENRCT2 mod, the game is simply fantastic. It removes the 40fps cap and many of the bugs of the old game, and the graphics don't look old at all. They look like something in the style of Celeste or Factorio.
I just started planet coaster but the only two I've played all the way through are thrillville and Sim themepark . Sim theme park so far is the best one I've ever played .
Played all of them...i think i had most fun playing RCT2 When i first heard about RTC World i rushed to get i was so excited....what a disaster... Planet Coaster always felt lacking to me...
There is a game on ROBLOX that’s really underrated, but you can pretty much do everything with coasters. Sadly though, there’s still some things you can’t do. I also feel like ROBLOX gets too much hate, especially considering the fact that it has such amazing games, like the one I just mentioned (Theme Park Tycoon 2). Anybody reading this should at least try this game out if they haven’t, because in my opinion, it’s a really awesome game.
Something most enthusiasts forget is ThemeParkTycoon2 on Roblox. It is surprisingly good. If yo want to immerse yourself into your park, that is the best one. Also, you can play ThemeParkTycoon2 for free. Does take a while to master though.
yeah but to take advantage of what makes tpt2 good you really need to spend ~11 pounds on gamepasses or at least ride operations and disable collisions adding up to 400 robux or a fiver
You can make a scenario where you have so much money you will never run out (That’s what I do) tho I think there is a sand box mode but idk how to play it
Try theme park tycoon 2, on the surface it seems kinda ass, but if you look into it and maybe throw some money at it you'll see that it's actually an incredibly capable game.
I've actually been pretty disappointed with Planet Coaster despite my continuing to play it. The game still is horribly laggy and crashes at large park sizes, the ride load/unload system is horrible, as is the staff system, it's also missing things that would seem simple to add like vending machines, arcades and carnival games. Most aggravating of all though is the DLC with very little of interest and the lack of a waterpark expansion. I'm not gonna rush to buy Planet Coaster 2.
yeah planet coaster was very exciting at the beginning of its run but it just feels stale now and the levels of DLC they are selling now has become ridiculous, its practically at a sims level now, and they also like you said have absolutely no interest in solving all of the critical flaws in the game, including all the stuff you said and also the terrible coaster editor
Honestly, OpenRCT2 is probably the best of the bunch. RCT3 was WAY too ahead of its time and it suffers because of Atari's garbage. Flat rides are impressive though, You need a monster computer to run Planet Coaster. If you have that, the game is fantastic. Parkitect is a really fun game but damn is it hard. Never had no limits. Open RCT2 is probably the best of the bunch because it's what Parkitect wants to be. The developers are even adding new coaster concepts into the default game as well. Plus, it successfully merges the atmosphere of RCT1 and RCT2 together. Added to fixing some issues with the original games.
My favourite is NL2 cuz I am only interested in building extremely realistic rollercoasters. Also I am too lazy for like real computer games, I literally only "play" NL2 and else just watch YT and Netflix
100% Planet Coaster, in my opinion. It has the second-best coaster builder (only behind NoLimits 1/2), and you can create any theme park of your dreams. It's about perfect and miles ahead of any RCT variation. However if people prefer creating just uber-realistic coasters and no people/parks, then I can see NL2 taking the cake.
if you have the know how you can make anything you ever wanted in NL2, as you can import your own assets from blender and walk around and stuff, but its a lot of work and most players just use the coaster designer, including me when i do mess around with it. its how virtual towers online (full recreation of alton towers) got started and they did get a decent amount of the park recreated in just No Limits including multiple roller coasters and i think a few flat rides, but the projects moved to unreal engine now and i think it doing much better because of it
Sure, NoLimits 2 and PlanetCoaster have awesome realistic graphics, but NL2 has 0 management options or people and PlanetCoaster is terrible on even good pcs so im always an RCT fan the graphics are good enough have a retro vibe and awesome mechanics. Plus it was originally written entirely in Assembly Language which is ... incredible.
I’ve played RCT3, TPT2, RCT4, and Planet Coaster and RCT3 Planet Coaster has the potential but for some reason the things other people can do that attracted me to the game don’t work on my computer I can’t even build roller coasters properly and it looked like a step up from RCT3 when it’s really a step down. RCT4 SUCKS. And TPT2 is in Roblox, it’s a great game, RCT3 just attracts me more.
You probably use the wrong settings for what you want to do, i played RCT1, RCT2, RCT3 Platinum, RCT3 Platinun the epic games version, Parkitect, No Limits 2 and planet coaster. From my experience planet coaster is really good if you set it right and use the tecniques to smooth the rides out
