I shoot a Franchi Affinity 3.5 Elite with a Patternmaster Code Black Goose choke and it has never jammed and never let me down!

Grew up with a coast to coast Ted Williams 20ga. Then to my dad’s browning A5 full choke. Moved on to a A400 explor for upland and doves, loved it so much I added a A400 extreme for waterfowl. Doesn’t matter the kind or gauge. As long as a guy can shoot it, it’s good! It’s funny how some people bash other brands, action Gauge etc. shoot what works.

Started with a 870 and still have it and use it once in a while. My main gun now is a sbe3 and this summer I’m going to pick up a franchi affinity in 20ga to try it out

Just purchased a Benelli Ethos Cordoba BEST 20 gauge. I purchased the gun because it’s durable enough to shoot ducks, but is a great crossover gun for Upland as well.

My first was an old Steven's pump, still have it. Now have a Beretta A350, also have a Winchester SX4 that I purchased for my dad. He passed last year. Considering an A400 this fall.

I love my browning maxus. The weight is on the lighter side which I love, it shoots clean and soft thanks to it being gas operated, and the auto load feature has bagged me quite a few extra birds over the course of each season. Edit: the carlson creamator medium range choke lives in my gun, it patterns just about every load I use exactly how I like at 40 yards.

Just switched from a nova to a franchi affinity elite last season and if you can swing it they are definitely worth the money. Admittedly most malfunctions I had were operator error lol

I use a 2009ish sbe2 that I beat on for several years then sent it off to RR to get his treatments. Been a phenomenal gun. I literally use to try to get it not to fire, thousands of rounds without cleaning it. I also have a new A5 that’s a fun one. I just tend to reach for the sbe2 when I’m going huntin. I love the feel of the a400 but I’ve seen a handful of em have ejection problems. But I have also seen a new sbe3 do it as well.

I use a browning wicked wing A5 12gauge. I feel it fits me and is easy to get to my line of site. When the AR flooded timber is on fire I use a SBE 20 gauge.

My all around shotgun is a Browning Feather 725 12 gauge over under with 26 inch barrels. It weighs 6 pounds and 7 ounces and I use blackened stainless steel ported extended Trulock chokes in improved cylinder and improved modified. I tend to waste my first shot with a semi-automatic so I am more comfortable with two shots that always go off.

I’m a big pump guy myself with a 12 and 20 gauge but wanted a semi for my wife when I got her into it 3 years ago and gambled on a tristar and boy did we loose. Won’t cycle for shit and broke two seasons in a row now. She likes it because it’s youth with short length of pull

That sucks it ended up being a complete lemon🙃 I have two buddies who had good luck with theirs. But I think at the price point it can be a gamble. I will say, if anyone knows they don’t want a tristar, be careful because a few other people essentially rebrand them, the mossberg SA line for example

Franchi affinity series shotguns manufactured by Benelli and a little Cheaper on the price point for a very good semi auto shotgun I personally had bought a affinity sport 3 to use for pretty much everything from clay and dove shoots to turkey and duck hunting but it is a little nicer of a gun also has overall length of 53” with choke in but wood stock so looking at upgrading to the affinity 3 waterfowl elite witch is a little shorter of overall length of 50”

To start I shoot a beretta a300 outlander. They now only make the a300 ultima which is just an upgraded version with over sized controls. I do basic cleaning and maintenance and my a300 outlander is going on season 6. I’ve never once had a shell not cycle or get hung up or anything. I hunt more than most. I’m usually hunting 35-50 days of the season down in south Louisiana. I take care of my gun but it isn’t babied. I’ve been underwater in the salt marsh multiple times. It’s held up and never gave me a problem one. Really great fun

My typical guns I use are the stoeger m3020 and the sb3 28 gauge. Both have been phenomenal. But been itching for side x side 20 and 28 gauge.

I’ve been hunting with my Browning BPS for about 20 years and it’s been an awesome, reliable gun. I would like to get something new just for a change and have been looking at the Franchi Affinity and the SX4. I’m probably going to go with the SX4 because the aftermarket chokes I got for my BPS will fit in it and I won’t have to get a whole other set for it.

I’m using a browning a500r, it’s dang reliable. I prefer and old school A5, but I want to get a new A5 wicked wing edition 3.5” mag. I also have used a CZ912, after the little issue of the gas piston breaking after a LOT of shooting, CZ sent me a new upgraded part no questions asked with no cost to me and it’s been great. But a humpback browning fits me the best. Another shotgun I will suggest is the CZ712, and the stoeger m3000. Won’t break the bank with either one, and they are really reliable.

Totally value your opinion Josh, great video! I've been running a mossberg 500 for about 3 years now, i love it. Thought about picking up a stoeger m3000... Any thoughts?

For what it’s worth, I’ve heard great stuff about stoeger, a lot of people absolutely love them. It’s anecdotal experience, but I’ve seen a 3500 completely lock up after the trigger was pulled, gun worked great after that but it was a pretty nerve wracking malfunction to have. The other guy I know who owns one has a 3000 that won’t cycle unless the shell release is hit, but them you can’t top the gun off if you only fire one shot for example. I don’t want to bash the brand because I think in general they’re built well, but they do seem to put out lemons😬

I started with a 870 it was an absolute tank of a gun, I have used it as a boat paddle and my uncle uses it as a walking stick in thick mud. It goes bang when u pull the trigger period. I upgraded to a browning a5 and I love it, super light, it’s inertia but I’m a big guy so I don’t mind a little recoil, it’s not bad at all tho compared to others. I can use it as a boat paddle and it shoots just as good after. Gas guns u have to keep clean to keep reliability up, so I wouldn’t recommend using any gas gun as a boat paddle or anywhere that the gas ports can get clogged up like in sand or silt. Gas guns r good for blinds in my opinion.

I shoot an a400 XP 12ga for my main gun and then recently got a benelli m2 20ga for select hunts. I had never owned a inertia gun. I do like it due to the weight but the a400 in 20ga i feel is a better gun. Just my personal thoughts. Maybe Ill learn to like it.

Mine's not new...in fact it's older than me. Remington 1100 magnum is my go to. I've tried other newer ones but always end up back with the 1100. It just fits and points well (for me). I took my first deer with the same gun, pheasants, sporting clays, skeet, etc. My son recently got an SX4 and if I was in the market...that's a nice shooter as well. I don't like inertia guns at all.

Started with an 870, then retay masai mara for me. After 4 seasons of seaducking and offshore hunting the Chesapeake I really have no bad things to say about the retay. But I don’t think their price point is as competitive as it used to be. Not even saying they’re bad for the price now, but pre covid they could be had way cheaper compared to the competition, now they’re just a bit cheaper

I currently run a 870 super mag 12 Gauge and a girsan semi 12 Gauge but I'm looking at upgrading to the stoeger M3500 has anyone had good or bad experiences with them ?

I used a Remington Versa Max for almost 10 years. Cycled all rounds flawlessly! I loved it. But last year I upgraded and bought a Beretta A400 Extreme Plus. The Versa Max is reliable, never had a minutes worth of trouble with it. The Beretta is definitely a nice upgrade from the Versa Max. I thought l might hate the safety at the front of the trigger guard, but it wasn't a big deal to transition to. I love how easily the A400 breaks down. There is less felt recoil with the A400. It mounts well, swings well, and does everything I need it to do. I've used it in the woods for squirrel, in the dove field, in the duck blind, and in Arkansas during the snow goose conservation hunt. I dont have a single bad thing to say about the A400. But be prepared to spend some coin. They are expensive, but worth the price tag as far as I'm concerned.

I still use a versamax reliability is next to none but the bolt release and loading port SUCKKK I was recently looking at the a400 or the maxus 2 but saw both had some reliability issues and didn’t want to pay big bucks for a step down in reliability compared to my versa max recently I saw they may be working on a versamax 2 so not sure what direction I should go in terms of buying a new gun

With today’s technology your best option is to figure out your price range then go and shoulder every gun within that range they’re all so close in performance there’s no excuse on why you have a gun that doesn’t fit you good. I shoot a SBE3 12 (left handed) muller passing/decoy choke. My wife shoots a franchi affinty 3 20 gauge (left handed) I swear I shoot the 20 better than the 12.

The best gun for waterfowl hunting, is.....one on your shoulder with the safety off and ducks in front. Old timers always used side-by-sides for pass shooting and it did not even get a mention, you missed getting your ticket to our hunting club. Tomorrow is last day of conservation Canada goose season. keep the clips coming

Won a gun raffle today and I have a choice between Beretta A300 Ultima KO, Franchi Affinity 3.5, Winchester SX4. All 12ga. I mainly hunt waterfowl in Maryland with a little dove thrown in. What's everyone like out of these 3?

Everything since their bankruptcy is crap. My 870 doesnt cycle even after you are forced to dremmel out the barrel. They are not what they used to be.
