The secret to making hot chocolate is always adding coffee. Also if you have a frother at home pour in creamer and some vanilla extract and then froth it and put that as a topping on hot chocolate and it’s BUSSIN
@@zach3861 foods and drinks can have multiple flavors, coffee just adds a nice flavor to the hot chocolate. So yes, making it taste more like coffee does make it taste better in my opinion
I just stir some cacao powder, sugar, and a little cinnamon into hot milk. It's a good balance of flavor and convenience for someone who drinks this stuff multiple times a day during winter.
I love making my own hot chocolate. I'll even use min chocolate, Lindt truffles.. basically whatever chocolate I have I can pretty much turn into hot chocolate.
Actually, if I remember correctly, some of the videos he mentioned at the start do. Some videos had multiple recipes, but Kwoowk just chose the most “normal” ones to make the comparison more natural. I’m glad he did tbh, ‘cuz now we can base the quality of the rest of the remaining recipes off of the ones he compared in this video. ‘Cuz if you can get the basics right, you’ll probably also do better on the more specialized recipes
I always use cayenne in mine, along with pumpkin spice and vanilla extract! I also follow a recipe for whipped coffee to put it on the top (but I only go like halfway so it's a foam). 10/10 IMO, and the cayenne adds a great warmth that it's otherwise lacking :D
Joshua used chilies for a mexican variant which was kinda a completely different recipe altogether in the same video (including different methodology and not just adding to a base of hot chocolate)
I love the Joshua weissman way because it reminds me of the thiccccc italian Hot chocolate. I basically put some 50% chocolate with cinnamon, Salt and coffee, heat it up and add milk until thick, and that's basically it, sometimes i change something like i add vanille instead of coffee or cinnamon
that's so unfair that you didnt add honey to compensate for the marshmallows on adams!! ive made that one a ton, the honey flavor of the marshmallows is why he keeps it simple 😤
I always take the ginger and maple syrup from YSAC's recipe's into consideration, but would like to make homemade marshmallows from Adam Ragusea's method, and use a milk frother (one that heats/stirs) to emulate the use of a blender. Each channel has their own advantages, and combining is 100% the way to find what works best.
My hot chocolate comprises of milk, cocoa Powder, coffee powder, vanilla, dark chocolate chunks, cinnamon, cloves, salt, pepper, ginger. This is what works for me every time
You should try a traditional Caribbean Chocolate tea or Coco tea I reccomend Tobagonian chocolate tea I think you would like it It would have an umph you are looking for, I think It wouldn't have Whip cream and marshmallows, so you can focus on the liquid Think it's also good to do since it's Christmas again Also please consider doing a Caribbean food series Taking similar dishes from across the region and finding your favorite version May cause a few fights but it would ve good to see the similarities and differences
We just made Babish' recipe and it was DISGUSTINGLY sweet. I really recommend using only half of the condensed milk! We had to add a shitton of milk to make it drinkable again...
I did wonder why he added condensed milk and then MORE sugar on top of that. Surely condensed milk is super sweet already? Whenever I use American dessert recipes online, I always have to reduce the sugar, I guess they have a much sweeter palette than my country.
@@MisterM2402yea. Here in America, we have a stronger sweet tooth only cuz it’s a part of the cuisine. Also, people don’t have time to make their own food cuz of their busy work schedules, so a common breakfast/snack is like donuts, cookies, bagels, along with coffee. That’s why I have a stronger sweet tooth (I don’t eat a lot of sugar thou) than many people 😅
Ive seen BwB’s and J weissmans videos,I agree with you,The consistency seems more like a Liquidy pudding than a Actual Hot chocolate. I knew that Binging W/ babish’s Take would be Pretty advanced,There seemed to be a Lot of thinking in it,And he was re-vamping What was meant to be The best from a Movie. (Flanders serves Bart a cup in the movie,And Bart utters a quiet “Oh my god”.)
I have a request. Could you please make a video on porridge? Not instant porridge but relatively quick meals? I´m a mom of two small kids and I´m always looking for some easy meals to make in the morning. If the kids and husband would have it their way, it would be cereal 7 days a week, so if you do this, you will really help me :)
There hundred if not thousands of hot cocoa recipes out there with all sorts of unusual additions: Salt, vanilla, cinnamon, chili powder, cornstarch, instant coffee, heavy cream, butter, etc. After years I just realized the simplest and easies and quick hot cocoa recipes involve: store-bought quality chocolate milk. Heat in a sauce pot. Voila
My hot chocolate rocks. Its coco powder with hot water in a pan which you add both dark and white chocolate, pinch of salt, cinnamon, coffee and sometimes either red wine or fruit. Then if I want to I top with milk and spoon into a cup. Then I add a layer of ice cream (which cools down the drink to the perfect temp as you sip) and sometimes a piece of chocolate or a biscuit to decorate. Again the only necessary parts are the chocolate and spices topped with ice cream (not even milk) and is the best way to make cheap stuff, good. One cup is probably at most £2 if you use better stuff but the cheap stuff still works well.
I personally like to add a little bit of the oil from chili oil to the hot chocolate unironically feels nice when it slides down the esophogus but not when you taste it
Good to know I've made a tradition of drinking "the 2nd best" hot chocolate on RU-vid for the past few years. Time to try the first. Thanks for the vid
If I am feeling fancy, I’ll make a hot chocolate using cinnamon, dark chocolate, cocoa powder and the likes but a quick fix for me would be equal amount of heaping spoonful of cocoa powder dissolved in hot water and sugar (I used keto sugar) with good amount of cold milk and ice. Quick and satisfying hot or iced chocolate I tell.
'seasoning' is the difference between hot chocolate milk and actual hot chocolate. Cayenne, ginger, cinnamon, or just a pinch of salt makes hot chocolate 10x better
Wish you had put the winning recipe in the description.....or in a pinned comment..... now I have to try to find the spot and write it down quick and hope I get it right. Thanks for sharing though
Irish milk chocolate like galaxy or dairy milk, a small bit of dark chocolate and oat milk and you're laughing. Really want to make your mornings good? Add a double shot of coffee. (We have a coffee shop called Insomnia that has Belgian chocolate melting 24/7, I used to work here and make oat milk mochas with this chocolate
My issues with hot cocoa is that it's always too sweet and not nearly chocolatey enough. I've been rifling through hot chocolate videos to find one that looks just the right amount of bitter and sweet to replace my morning coffee. If this doesn't work, I guess I just don't like hot cocoa/chocolate and I move on to trying different teas to keep the morning routine going without the high caffeine intake. =/
This is some expensive hot chocolate. My go to is some cocoa powder (Dutch), sugar, milk, a tiny homemade chocolate truffle if I’m feeling a little down. And it’s perfect. Also a pinch of coffee if I need some wake me up. Using real chocolate for hot chocolate is a luxury and also calorie dense 😅
