I was saying something similar the other day. They could literally charge twice as much for any of their products and it would be worth it and they KNOW it, but they don't to be a decent brand. One of the best aftermarket companies for Honda EVER
Just went from a K Tuned billet shifter to an Acuity 4-way and holy crap there is no comparison. The Acuity is hands down THE better shifter. The K-Tuned would often pop out of gear or refuse to go into gears. All shifts felt tentative. Before I went and changed tranny fluid I decided to switch to Acuity and now all shifts immediately felt firmer, easier and very slick. Throw was very short. Most satisfying shifter yet. I can’t even imagine how it’ll feel when I put in Amsoil tranny fluid. The engineering and quality on Acuity looks and feels incredible.
Absolutely.. Grab their detents, shift selector springs, and their cable bushing.. My Dc5 shifts better than some Porsche gearboxes its just that good.
Hi I want to put a k20a2 head on a k24a1 block and I do plan on getting better rods and pistons and would like to avoid the oil pump Situation u mentioned in a previous video. So i wanted to know if I should just follow this path or if it’s better to get a TSX block and modify the oil pump to make it fit?
Ain’t the KTuned shift box the knockoff version though? Either way I’m looking to get a knockoff as well cause my KTuned one might end up breaking on me next season.
the application matters. I have an 03 CLS and just installed the new Hybrid shifter and it's definitely better than the ktuned I had on my 08 TLS. neither shifters had the springs depicted in this video, so I feel like some applications just aren't as great as others from the same company.
I’m definitely looking forward to getting acuity. I have the HR V2 and it failed twice on me. Sent it back and they said it had to be tuned to spec. Now it doesn’t even grip on the swivel part. So it’s basically loose…heard too many horror stories of the ktuned shifter. Acuity looks promising but I think I’ll prefer the non swivel so that I can mitigate that part ever failing again.
I’m going to sound like an idiot lol I’ve been looking but can’t find anything am I able to put that exact acuity shifter in the link in bio in my integra ??? It’s k swapped because I see the description says the newer Si’s
I bought the billet k-tuned with the race spec cables, can’t tell you how it feels because my car isn’t put back together yet, seems like everyone prefers the hybrid version
it feels weird shifting 4th to 5th because the car is not moving and its getting caught in-between 5/6 and rev selector. With the car moving rev lock out is engaged and 4-5 shift will feel much better.
@@sk-philthy if you are talking about reverse lock out. All K 6spd has reverse lock out. So with the solenoid engaged you wont be able to go to rev. But if its disebgaged (no speed detected or key off) when you go from 4-5 you can go too far over to where rev is. Then you wont get into 5th because you went too far. Only K serries 6spd and matching ecu has this feature.
This isn’t an Apples to Apples comparison, if you’re using a brand new Acuity shifter try out a brand new V3 Hybrid Racing shifter. Just sounds biased to me ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I went with the K tuned ! Definitely Ktuned shifter and ALL their other parts FTW!!! Hybrid Racing I’ve always considered like low budget or food stamp quality. ACUITY too purple for my taste. To each their own.
Everything that K-Tuned sells, is made from China. The K-Tuned "replica" parts on Ebay, are just K-Tuned parts that aren't branded its junk and its proven to be junk. Join k20a on facebook and search K-Tuned. There is a huge thread with a high rate of product failure. The only item that hasn't failed on me that I purchased from K-Tuned was their map sensor plug. Throttle body would stick open like crazy, oil cap leaks, dip stick pops out on an N/A K24 with normal driving, throttle cable came apart after less than 30 miles of use and destroyed itself, street spec shifter cables binded after 200 miles of normal driving. Customer service was not helpfull whatsoever. Hybrid Racing isn't a "low budget" quality lol and there customer service is fantastic. Their products are far superior to anything K-Tuned will ever produce. Haven't had a failure since I switched to Hybrid.
@MUM!N Actually, it’s not the engine that matters. It all depends on the transmission. In reality its the shift assembly that is mounted on the transmission. For example, you can mount a TSX/Accord transmission to a RSX K20 engine and these RSX style shifters wont work. The pattern would be backwards. Thats why Ktuned makes an RSX shifter and a seperate TSX/Accord shifter.
@@TrackSol v true. I had wanted the race spec shifter for my k24a2 swap, using accord euro r transmission- had to buy the TSX version instead because of the reasons you mentioned. (I still prefer the look of the race spec one grrrrr)
I took my stock rsx box out and prebent it back towards the driver, now i can have my baja blast in the cupholder and not smack my hand into it! Integra
@@PolishedMobileDetailing503 took it off the car, put the bottom in the vice, heated 1" section above vice, then used a jack handle to "manipulate" its angle. Its tough steel but it wasnt that difficult.
It's just weird seeing someone go from 4th to 5th in a straight line. From before I even drove, just practicing shifting in the drive way of my mums car, I have always shifted up, right, up. This has never slowed my shifting down and I don't under stand why you would try and slam a straight lined through an H pattern.
I would just pick the Acuity cause it has the least amount of hex bits. I mean seriously its 2020, we're mechanics we want even number sized nuts with a pozidrive centre as a backup, none of this outdated want to be a standard hex/allen/torq/triangle crap.
